The Raid on Nueva Vida

It started off a quiet day, here in Hyspia, a small meeting with a diplomat of the pontifical states and then solace…. Until Hyspia was attacked. A band of raiders from the Unholy States, the Northern Barbarians, and the Orcish Horde. They made call for a meeting with our new Queen, and if the meeting could not be held at that exact moment their horde would come into the city via force. I, Leomonte, would notice the truth of the matter, an attempt at imperialism by our once allies. I would run off to the beach gates of Nueva Vida, call my horse Babieca and run off to our closest ally, Haense, and call for all Hyspian allies. Here in New Valdev we met, here we sent letters to every ally, and here we rallied against our enemy.

 

After the gathering of our allies we would descend from the mountains unto the raiding horde, knowing they were inside the city, we spotted ladders upon the wall. Here we climbed their ladders and found the bastardos stuck within Nueva Vida’s gates, from this moment the Horenic Covenant strategically moved from the walls, probing and peppering the Unholy Raiders with arrows. After such probing movement the raiders were finally able to gain presence upon the walls after the Horenic Covenant took the streets of Nueva Vida. Rising up the lifts in the towers, like the Lion upon the Gazelle the attackers rallied into a single push, wiping the Unholy States’ filth from the walls of Hyspia’s capital. Felling foe after foe, the whoresons of the church will be forced off of the walls and scurry off like rats to save themselves. 

 

But Hyspia sought Vengeance, Here in Hyspia we could not believe such an unwarranted attack could be allowed, A kingdom surrounded on all sides and yet… Here we stand. Filled with the vigor of Lions, our Holy Horenic Covenant sallied out of the city upon cavalry and rode down the cobardes running from battle. Picking off the vermin one by one, with many enemies of importance fleeing in fear, but this running would Not Save Them. Thorin of Ravenmire, Lamention of Ivoria, and Grommash of Krugistan, these traitors of pacts would be captured in their retreat and then brought unto the newly realized Queen of Hyspia, Amarantha I. Our Queen of Hyspia made swift judgement of Grommash, noting his breaking of the pact that kept both of their Realm’s non-aggression. Grommash’s judgement was Execution, our own King Julian taking the head of the “Lie-Speaker” as a fitting trophy. A Lord Lamention was counted as well, though insignificant, is counted as a brigand under Hyspian codex for previous offenses and was swiftly brought to justice via execution. Thorin of Ravenmire, though a traitor of pacts and raider of Hyspia, was granted the courtesy of life by the pleas of King John II of Balian. With these final moments, the battle was over, the attack was over, Hyspia will know tranquil rest for a short time… Since the attacks upon Hyspia will undoubtedly continue, for the threat of imperialism still stands.
 

 

Hyspia Makes it Allegiance

The People of Hyspia will fight for our sovereignty, we will not crumble under the subtle threats of encroaching Imperialism by the fraudulent powers of the Curia. Hyspia will not crumble under the threat of taking away our sovereignty, which we have earned rightfully. Hyspia will join with the other sovereign nations and fight against this fraudulent imperialist curia who hires mercenaries from the North and those of the Orks. Hyspia will join the Horenic Covenant against this Aggressive Expansion. Hyspia will Fight!

 

The Rallying of the Diraar

 

As the sun dipped low over the bustling square, casting long amber shadows across the cobbled streets, Jarad sat reclined near the tavern, a mug of ale in hand and a rare moment of peace upon his brow. The distant fluttering of wings broke the lull, and his eyes caught sight of a bird descending from the sky, its flight purposeful, a note tied securely to its leg. With a curious brow raised, Jarad stood and made his way toward the aviary. He gently untied the parchment, unfolding it with steady hands. His eyes scanned the contents, each word digging deeper into his chest. Hyspia was under siege. His heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, he turned on his heel and bolted toward the town bell, his stride urgent, his purpose clear. The bell rang out furiously beneath his grip, its echoes thunderous as they ricocheted across the walls. Steel clattered and boots pounded stone as the Diraar’s call reached the ears of those who stood ready. The square came alive, soldiers rallied, hands reached for blades, and horses were saddled in haste.

 

Within moments, they were off, hooves thundering across the land, a storm of determination riding with them. The banner of their cause fluttered proudly in the wind. Upon reaching Hyspia, the scene before them was one of dire defense. Their allies held the walls, strained but defiant. With no time to spare, Jarad and his kin scaled the battlements, climb, climb, climb. until they stood shoulder to shoulder with the coalition forces. The defenders gave nods of recognition, unity forged in the fire of battle.

 

Then came the charge. Steel flashed in the twilight as the Diraar’s forces surged across the walls, sweeping like a tempest upon the invaders. The orcs, Salvos, and Gresemen met the fury of their counterattack. Chaos erupted, shouts, clashing blades, blood upon stone. Yet the resolve of the defenders did not waver. Jarad pressed forward through the fray, blade swinging, rallying cries echoing in his wake. The tide turned swiftly, the enemy lines shattered beneath their might, scattered and broken beneath the unrelenting assault. 

 

As the final pockets of resistance were swept away and the din of battle faded, Jarad caught sight of a weathered note crumpled near the body of a retreating foe. Curiosity led his hand once more to parchment, and he read: "Rally in Grense. It's time to raid Hyspia." - Johnny Rango 

 

A hearty chuckle rumbled from Jarad’s throat as he tucked the note away. "Not this time," he muttered under his breath. The first blow of the batter had been struck, and it was not the defenders who suffered it.

The state forces and their orcish allies had tasted defeat, and the defenders of Hyspia stood tall in victory.

Rulf was never a big fan of the church... never since the fall of the former East. He didn't care nor did he want to at the time when he first came to Aevos, but to witness the barbarity of the Uruks who hide behind the Thin Veil of 'Honor' and the Church who seeks Unity through unjustified power. But now he does... and he's harbored hatred and disdain for these two. He may put on a face under his Faceplate and play along and feign an Amicable front to them, but deep down he Hates the Barbaric Uruks of Krugistan and he Abhors the Tyrannical Church.

 

Despite being banished from the nation that no longer loves him for his Sins and his nigh long life service, nulled, to the former Sovereign state and new Recently recognized Kingdom. He will fight for the Covenant against the Pontifical Tyrants, for Freedom is what he hold dearly in his heart as a Waldenian. But this... he must remain silent of his allegiance when not in the fight.

The rush of battle swept over Hyspia, and Balian answered its ally's call for aid. Unity. The threat of tyranny brought men, bound by faith - not state, together in an act of resistance. In said hour, justice would prevail; the Covenant forces drove off the men of Ravenmire and Orcish warband. Furthermore, their victory lead to the acquisition of two prized captives: Hordespeaker Grommash and Prince Thorin of Ravenmire.
 

"Take his head!" One voice called, their finger pointed at the Prince. Yet, another voice was raised amongst the gathering. "He is a dutiful man. Spare his life," he petitioned to Queen Amaranth; one might have considered it a plea. Nonetheless, his words found reason, and the captive Prince was spared from retribution.
 

"It would have been wiser to kill me, John," said Thorin, led before the city gates, mere inches away from freedom.

King John II merely shook his head and watched as he departed. "I made a promise, Thorin..."
