Media Team Community Involvement

THE INTRODUCTION

 Hey everyone, as you might have seen in the recently posted community team update, one of the new projects that the team is currently working on is a system for the members of the community to submit various types of media to be uploaded to the server’s official social media pages. We want to make the process as straightforward as possible, but still provide enough guidelines to define a clear path for successfully getting your media on our pages.

 

THE PLAN

 The current plan is to provide a simple form that can be filled out with all the required information from the creator as well as a clear set of guidelines that must be followed by anyone hoping to have their media posted. Then the Community Teams Media Sect and Managerial group will go through the provided information and the submitted media itself, providing any possible suggestions or changes that might need to be made before it is ready to post. Otherwise, if no changes are required, the media will be posted and shared the same way as any other media that we make.

In the case that the submitted piece does not follow the required guidelines, and it is not possible to make the required changes to bring it within these guidelines the submission will unfortunately have to be denied. 

 

We plan to have submissions open for all types of media, full-length videos, shorts, and even simple image posts, so your ideas are welcome for all these areas.

 

THE QUESTIONS

The plan with this post is to mostly gauge the interest from the community in participating in such a project. Additionally, we wanted to hear the thoughts of even those who aren't interested in helping but want to help us shape this into a successful plan. These questions aren't the extent of what you can say, but let us know if you have any thoughts regarding them!

 

1. Should we limit which platform people can submit uploads for? Which ones?

2. Should we limit the type of content we want people to submit? Which ones?

3. Are there any additional limits or restrictions on what people can submit

4. Your general thoughts on the plan.

5. If you yourself would be interested in submitting some sort of work

I haven't many thoughts on restrictions, but I think TT and Youtube shorts have immense potential in regards to reach and algorithm. Showcase wars, impressive figura models, and things that might draw attention while also taking note of current trends and memes. I feel like these are untapped sources in regards to advertising for the server which could draw in a lot of eyes.

 

This is a cool start, and I'm looking forward to see people's submissions.

I'll listen, no promise on if we will be able to do all of them. But the team is always open to suggestions.

How will yall prove ownership of whatever media belongs to whos submitting it and well as will we be credited?

Credit will be given for any media to the best of our abilities.

As for proving ownership, that will have to be done on a case by case basis, as of now we dont have a procedure for that. When the plan goes live, that will be something that we will be including.

I've made mineimator animations for my clan, and hopefully will make more for the orcs. I definitely think some consideration should be taken to supporting smaller communities on the server get recognition, so many of the videos have just been human/bandit rp.
