Upon patrolling your roads, we were horrified to find a youth, no older than fifteen left abandoned and alone, with no means of fighting off any attackers that would come his way. When we, your enemy, came to halt him, no attempt was made to scream, cry, fight or even beg for help, for he knew nobody would come. 

 

Fret not, he is alive, unharmed and well cared for, enjoying drinks and security in our tavern, and shall continue to do so, for the state would never be so callous as to bring harm to a child.

 

Your neglect of the next generation is appalling, though we of the State are willing to allow you a second chance, an offer to redeem yourselves.

Estevot read the missive in genuine worry, only to see Aedric's name and laugh hysterically. Poor Haelun'or, having to deal with one half of the Greye twins. Honestly, the most insulting thing is that they gave Aedric such a low price for a ransom, but it didn't matter. Aedric would probably burn down Haelun'or by complete accident while running back to Balian before they ever put him in any real danger.
