THE SKANARRI REFORGED

THE TRIBE HAS ENDURED GREAT HARDSHIP. From the days of FNOD THE FOUNDER, the Skanarri have endured endless wars both against themselves and those of other tribes. The Tribe has endured endless winter storms in the frozen north so as to test themselves as true followers of the All-Father.  The Tribe has been shattered, unified, shattered, then united again under many who call themselves HIGH CHIEFTAIN. Yet, over a century ago the lives of the Skanarri were abruptly changed.

 

The SVEN’S DAY MASSACRE annihilated thousands of Skanarri, killed the tribal elders, and forced the fractured remnants to flee into the Almarisian Ice Spikes where many more would die due to a lack of resources. The Skanarri were on the edge of extinction with over 90% of the original Skanarri population being felled. Yet still, the surviving Skanarri clung to their faith in the All-Father. They clung to their traditions, their ways of life, and grew determined to one day resurface among the world.

 

Under the leadership of INGVAR EIRIKSSON RURIC, this dream became possible. The surviving Skanarri clans were rallied, either through war or through diplomacy. Traditions were reforged to strengthen the surviving population. Southrons were permitted to join the tribe under the condition that they abandoned their Southron culture, name, and identity in favor of walking the path of the All-Father. Southron captives are permitted to become Thralls with the opportunity to later become tribesmen, or are put to death. New clans are being forged to fill the vacuum that the decimation of the old clans left behind.

 

Though not nearly reaching the same numbers they once had prior to the near-annihilation of their people, the Skanarri now stand ready to re-enter the political landscape of the north. Raids have been launched against Southron invaders who hold land in the north. Religion has been revitalized and new priests learn the ways of the All-Father. The Skanarri migrate all across the far north, never remaining in one place for too long so as to avoid their foes and follow the migration of their herds. The Stewards of the North have made their return with the intention of purifying it of those who would leave their Southron or Voidal taint upon the land.

 

The Skanarri are reforged under the leadership of a grizzled veteran hailing from a line of Kings and Chieftains. The question is, will you join them on their rise to power?
