Are hard-pk phylacteries a good system?

My thing is stuff like treelord is easily fixable, because they can just replant a tree again.

Only if a sapling is taken. One can only be ever made and there's a CD on making a new one. Soul trees can definitely pk die, especially with the rather long list of weaknesses. But there is defense. But this is a live tree though. Not a mere jar so idk how you want to go about that.

I mean, they can just take that one sapling and fix their situation whenever. If they lose their tree 24/7, that’s low-key their fault LOL. I assume the CD was given because a tree lord isn't supposed to get their tree easily found or destroyed. Nevertheless, I haven't ever heard of a big issue coming from the tree lord system or situations like the current one. It's always darkspawn and something being enforced. Still, I did not mean that as an insult as I think the tree lord's system as a whole fixes the PK issue and is kinda epic. Yeah, PK is possible but It is a pain in the ass to achieve, and generally, it offers a solution for a tree lord etc...

Anything is possible in lore, IF ST wants to. A phylactery of a lich could be a conduit for the heith, which makes undead appear around it or corrupts the land; one of a wight could be a beacon of ghosts, or the wight himself could be summoned through it, and so on. There are many ways, it's just silly there is no drawback for people who sneak into these big evildoer lairs when no one is around and pk somebody. Alas, I am not ST, so in the end, my opinion does not matter at all. I wish such pk clause would promote interaction and at the same time being comfortable for players–rather than a chore of Paranoia. As I said, the soul tree is a good start for inspiration.

Something I'd like to highlight is that many people in this chain are stating how of course no one can be forced to make a CA, especially if they disagree with how the CA operates. That is however quite a black and white argument and is not very useful: people are allowed to have disagreements with something they are doing. I love going shopping, I hate spending money; I like playing liches, I don't think the PK clauses are that good though.

I think it's really unhelpful to simply blanket out that 'if you don't like it don't play it' as that shuts down any productive discussion where we could rectify issues and come up with viable amendments :)
