The song is written on a piece of parchment that has suffered water damage from hanging up on a board in the rain but has dried. None the less the ink persists.

"So tell me a story
Of a man traveling down road."

-

"He's lookin' for purpose,
In his old bones.
God gave him none,
And the devil gave him options.
But the world said,
You must carve your fortune in stone."

-

"So tell me a story
Of a man traveling down road.

He's lookin' for glory,
In his old bones.
War promised winnings,
Of liars tongues and,

Nightmares bidding.
Commanders sing,
You must take your valor in bone."

-

"So tell me a story
Of a man traveling down road.

He's lookin' for faith,
But finds that there is none.
God is blind,

With a devil in mind.
But the universe can only create,

So much at a time!
So look for your truth,

On your own."

-

"So tell me a story,
So tell me a story,
So tell me a story,
Of a man traveling -
Down road."

The roaming fugitive, Reinhard, hummed the song to himself as he stepped down the road. Ahead, the sun was setting and the inky glow that patterned across his hand  though usually a dismal and paibful remainder, was beginning to look almost beautiful in the low light. Terribly maimed and, truly, barely alive he found some scrapes of joy he could live with. Even in such a dark time, he found a little guiding light, and in it all there was pride.
