Widu 535 Share Posted June 1, 2025 Issued from the Talonnii Miravaris, year 346 since the restoration of Haelun’or Lliran, mali’thill, countrymen, I write to you with a solemn concern regarding the ever-broadening remit of Sohaer’s authority. Precedent after precedent, from Sythaerins to Nullivari, it is evident that even the most seemingly competent leader can become blind to the dangers of such prerogative. When Sohaer wields this prerogative without oversight, the corruption festers. There are now those that already vie for the Sohaer’s seat, eager to claim such authority for themselves, when they could just as readily implement the necessary changes without assuming those dangerous powers. We treat sickness. We identify symptoms. But the longer we wait to identify a disorder, the harder it is to treat the disease. Let the lesson of the past century’s disorder help us understand the disease of Sohaer’s authority and guide us onto the path of Purity. It is no wonder that the light of Larihei has recently reignited again, and, through Malaurir Fi’talareh, was found in Kolvar Uradir. At the second Visaj Public Assembly, with the support of Malaurir Fi’talareh, the solution was discovered in a reform. The reform proposes the following changes, In order to ensure progress and continuing stability, Blessed Maheral, the guide to all mali’thill, has to assume the following duties: To manage the Silver Council in pursuance of constitution and law, along the ancient principle of maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. To serve as Supreme Commander of the Sillumiran. To coordinate and direct the effort of The Silver Council; Elheial’thilln. To appoint and remove Okariran and Tilruiran to maintain a full and functioning Silver Council. To coordinate and direct the diplomatic and military undertakings of The Silver State of Haelun’or. To ratify treaties. To proclaim a state of war, should The Silver State of Haelun’or come under attack by foreign power, or necessary in pursuance of our international treaties concerning collective defense in response to aggression. To proclaim martial law, Diraar, for the purpose of ensuring public health. As such, the seat of Sohaer has to be abolished. Those who wished to bring positive change to our Motherland through Sohaerate to be presented as the candidates for the ancient pure title of Tilruir’mali, and under the guidance of our Blessed Maheral, to implement the reforms, to rejuvenate Haelun’or. Over the last hundred years, Mali strove for power, for knowledge, for unity - let us now strive for Purity to attain them all. JustMeMorgan 2066 Share Posted June 1, 2025 "This must be a satirical piece; Nobody would ask our Most Blessed to take on duties not designed for them, unelected and rife with temptations that could bring them down from their virtues." - "The Diarchy is there so that the Maheral can focus on ensuring a prosperous Haelun'or, for them to take such roles would burden them beyond imagination and our Most Blessed would fall from grace. What an utterly ridiculous notion." Spoke the pallid elf towards his fellow election candidates. @PrimnyaQuorum@Kirkigar
MrSyth 636 Share Posted June 1, 2025 "Oh, poor misguided child." The old elf mutters as he reads the missive. He turns to others reading it in the square, a slight chuckle escaping him. "Heed not the words of one who writes missives impulsively. Though I reckon elMiravaris' intentions are pure, the only result of this abolishment would be the effective destruction of the seat of elMaheral. By having our most Blessed take up elSohaer's duties, do they simply not become the new Sohaer? One picked by a Malaurir, rather than elected by the people as tradition dictates? To trust in the judgement of elheial'Malauriran is a just and true call, as someone who resides upon it I must agree. But to burden elMaheral with overseeing political issues, and commanding the military is foolish to say the least. Their position is already 'supreme', as Liewyn would call it, for they already hold the power to remove any councillor or Sohaer should they deem them unfit for office. But elMaheral must remain a guiding hand, a voice for Larihei, not one who takes the matters into their own hands. To have them take on the tasks of our Leader by Teaching muddles the very foundation Lucion Sullas and Dio Astoré once forged. This missive disguises itself as being pro-Maheral. It is not. It merely shifts its seat to that of elSohaer, leaving the Maheral too busy to fulfill their duties of guiding us among the path of Purity."
Widu 535 Author Share Posted June 1, 2025 (edited) Another missive was soon issued, bearing the Miravaris sigil: It will be a great honour to organise and participate in the debate with the three declared candidates and any truth-seeking mali’thill this month, as I believe the issue of elSohaer’s accountability and competence should not be underestimated. As much as I favour the system of The Diarchy, the great disbalance of the recent century, that allowed Sohaer to act like Uthir, compels me to support the vision for strong Maheral and wise elHeial’malauriran. Perhaps through the debate we can achieve elMaehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. As is tradition, the debate will be held at the Silver Citadel. [!] A note has been added recently, explaining that the debate has been postponed to the next public assembly this year.
