Wizry 1219 Share Posted July 16, 2025 The end came not by sword or crossbow, but in a quiet forest - a peaceful moment for Aelfraed. He was embraced by someone he would’ve given up the gift of Templarism for. It was a kind sort of death. He had warred a dragon-god, killed demons from the Hells itself, travelled to far-off different cosmos, and seen his Patron tamed of his madness. He had fought through frost-witch and infernal flame to help bring ruin to the Witch-Queen Naele, and hunted darkspawn in between the quiet hours. His blade had been born thin by the weight of years. Of twenty or so aspirants, two continued along the pathway that he had set out with him as his mentor. He bore four sacred trophies and earned the banner of Malchediael. With three of those trophies, he had forged a blade of divine blessing. He gave that sword to her, the woman that had called him hero. He entrusted into her his weapon, his tasks, his trust, and his eternal rest. And he slept, until she called onto his advice. Spoiler It's been real. I'll be off and about fighting in HEMAA tournaments, so I'll no longer be on the server. See you folks around.

Jentos 9422 Share Posted July 16, 2025 The An-Gho spared a prayer for his dead foe. Even in death is there inequality, what then was a prayer but a wish for the spirit of a hero to struggle on even beyond his mortal coil?
Frostdrop1 1843 Share Posted July 16, 2025 Reinhard had little time to consider the poor, dying templar that night even in his enfeebled state. His attention was caught by the request for time and, yet, Time was a cruel mistress for she left none of herself to be had. His panic only grew with the longer things drew on. Each second was an hour. And that templar, sadly, was not granted the full peace he deserved with the circumstances at hand.
sapphic_spidy 1089 Share Posted July 16, 2025 Fallon isn't a child anymore. She's grown up. She's gone on her own adventures. She's not a child anymore, but this development makes her feel like one once more. Makes her wish she was one. She doesn't want to cry, but she can't help it. Time is passing. People grow up. People die. There's no escape, there's no real ending. The halfling will miss the man she called father.
Tainga 521 Share Posted July 16, 2025 "Thank Aeradar he finally rests..." Athaenis murmured, settling beside the familiar campfire–the same one where countless conversations had been shared between them. "Now he can't bully me anymore... that bully." She shook her fist dramatically toward the skies.
