Foreword

Sixteen years have passed since the end of the War of Crown and Crozier. With the ascension of the Empire of Man, the destruction of the Horenic Covenant and the parties it consisted of, and the subsequent destruction of the Kingdom of Balian and founding of the Grand Duchy of Lotharia. After several meetings between diplomatic parties to discuss terms of surrender, it is with great hope we announce that finally, peace has been reached between Aevos and the descendents of man.

 

I. ON SOVEREIGNTY

I. The Grand Duchy of Lotharia does recognise the sovereignty and legitimacy of the Empire of Man and all of its lands, and Emperor Tiberias I to rule over his dominions as well as all humanity, until a time when his rightful successor, His Imperial Highness Prince Hadrian, succeeds him.

1. The Grand Duchy of Lotharia, as a diaspora of the former Kingdom of Balian, does recognise the Emperor’s goodwill and absolute mercy in allowing the Lotharian people to settle and exist within the desert, foreign to his dominion.
2. Prince Lothar I shall proffer to the Empire, Cloudbreaker, as a token of understanding of the Emperor’s Sovereignty. 
   1. Should any attempts at obfuscating, obstructing, or otherwise reclaiming the Cloudbreaker be made by the signatories or their dominions, the treaty shall be considered annulled. 

 

II. The Empire of Man does recognise the vassalage of The Grand Duchy of Lotharia and its lands, and Prince Lothar I to rule over his dominions, until a time when his rightful successor, Prince Iohannis, succeeds him.

 

II. ON NON-AGGRESSION

I. The signatories pledge a pact of non-aggression between each other. They shall neither wage war, nor arms against one another. They shall also not try to bring harm to the integrity of one another’s Realms.

 

III. ON TITLEAGE

I. The Grand Duchy of Lotharia shall surrender all titles and claims associated with the House of Novellen. These include the Kingdom of Balian, and any and all titles originating from the previous Empire and Kingdom of Oren.

II. The House of Novellen, upon the signage of this treaty, is hereby formally dissolved. Any living descendents of the House may take on the name Basileus instead.
