A letter is delivered to the Maiden's Head Inn, addressed to the Blackaxe Clan.

My dear kin,

It has been a matter of one or two Elven Weeks since I have departed the shores of Aegis for lands unknown, and I find myself missing the warm security and comfort of our old hold of Kal'Domhain. You would not believe the sights I have seen and the strange folk I have encountered. Since I first disembarked at the first land we could find, I have seen naught but humans, and not a one of them recognized me as anything more than a short, hairy fellow of their own race.

Yet there is one similarity to good old Aegis that I suspect is common throughout all lands and peoples: war. The men I have been associating with during this time are divided into what I can only describe as armies or war-tribes. Their only purpose in life seems to be gathering supplies for battle and squabbling amongst themselves for worthless bits of land and old ruins. Their only enjoyment seems to come from raiding the keeps of enemy factions, and in humor of the lowest sort.

They fight ruthlessly and without mercy; no warning is ever given before any sort of attack, and they have no qualms about destroying the very structure of enemy construction. I once witnessed the aftermath of such a raid, in the very base of the army in which I was a guest. The entire storeroom had been emptied of anything remotely valuable, and the reinforced corridors of the subterranean shelter were flooded with lava! How I miss even our own methods of war; at least they made sense, and had reason.

I write to you from a small inn on the open road, having left the barbarians to their sport. I have not found trace or rumor of my brother Decks, the object of my journey, and it doesn't look like I will hear anything soon. In the meantime, I am enjoying the travel, as it is a nice break from the drama of politics back home. From what I hear from the sailors and merchants I meet, there is plenty of that at the moment to keep you all busy. I would really love it if you could send me a message by return of this hawk, explaining the goings-on back on the home front. Perhaps we could open a correspondence; I would be very happy to give you my opinion on anything that might be troubling you.

To my sons, Durent and Kondag, I wish the best of luck in the upcoming trials I fear face the clan. I apologize for leaving so soon after finally reuniting with you, but I am confident I made the right choice in the matter. My brother Decks was always my strongest tie to the family, since I, like you, was raised outside of our ancestral halls. Now that he has gone, I can never be content there. Perhaps someday I may return, and then we will laugh and swap tales of our adventures until we drown in our own tankards. Until then, I wish you all good fortune, and know that you have my support.

May we meet again, be it in this world or the next one ((wink)),

Gulik Shortbeard, of the Black Axe.

I am glad ta 'ear word fram ya uncle. I was gettin' worried somethin' 'ad 'appened ta ya. Back 'ome we 'ave 'ad confrontations with various guilds of soldiers like da Shad'Rin 'nd Wolverines, but we be at understandin' terms now. If ya 'aven't 'eard by now, da 'uman city of Al'Khazar 'as fallen ta t'e undead 'nd t'e remainin' peoples 'ave split inta two different nations. As of Kal'Urguan, we be warrin' with da Alrasians fer control over t'e map fragments. So far t'e 'umans of Galahar be with us 'nd some various guilds as well. Negotiations be an on goin' t'ing 'round 'ere now. Seems politics be t'e way t'e go nowadays instead of just good 'ol fightin'. Anyways, I be ramblin', I 'ope ta keep 'earin' from ya. May ya find yer way through t'e blindin' of darkness.

I t'ink I remember ya. Hrm.. ya be Gulik's son I belive. Welcome 'ome cuzin!

McName: MrBamPow

In-game Name: Darain_Volkrak

Timezone: EST US & Canada

Desired Position: Chief of War and Infantry. But ill probably start out as a warrior and work my way up and get stronger.

Short bio: Darain is a kind hearted man but is also tough. He will fight for what he thinks is right and will even take the blame for others. He desires to be a great warrior one day and become a great soldier for Kal'Urgan.

Special Skills: Good thinker, Can scout well, a good fighter.

PvP Combat: Great just have to level up my swords skills.

Anything else you should know: Darain stands for Burning Fist. Hard to earn trust from other races.

((Yea new recruits will do us some good, but make sure you run them by me first just to be sure they're the type of people we want in our clan.

Also, I would like to bring some of the war hungriness back to the clan ex. raiding and such (will have legitimate RP reason). But I don't want to force all the members of the Blackaxe to participate in these events (might not fit the RP of some of the current members). We will need to have some kind of group within the clan. Feedback would be appreciated as well as any members who would like to be apart of this. ))
