Hail, Denizens of LoTC!

My name is Drakuzad, a new Heartlander on the server! I’ve been scouring the forums and reading up on things while waiting on the new map, as well as talking to a few people on Discord to introduce myself, get some tips, etc. Most people have been very welcoming, which I was very happy to see! A few…not so much. You know who you are.

 

I’ve been a huge rp nerd for quite a long time in my life. Mostly I’ve been a human Paladin in campaigns (a couple of those were Oathbreakers), though the most unforgettable campaign was definitely in the Fey Wilds when I decided to play a Goblin Warlock (shit got crazy!) I’ve learned in my time with rp that some of the greatest stories can be created by those willing to go with the flow and let bad things happen in interesting ways…I mean, who wants to be some invincible person that never loses? Boooooring! And pretty damn toxic to others ngl. Not everyone can win all the time 🤣

 

So after the recent Civilization rp video that got released by ish, it finally opened my eyes to Minecraft rp! Something that I never even thought about, even though I’ve played Minecraft since the beta in 2010. The idea now just seems so obvious I’m genuinely surprised I hadn’t thought to look into this years ago…

 

Well I’m glad I’m here now, and I hope to make some new friends! Whether you see me in-game, or catch me streaming on Twitch while playing, I’ll be more than happy to interact! (As long as you aren’t some troll that tries to insta-kill me by emote. Shame!)

Its a little slower paced and less minecraft gameplay than Ish's civ videos, but welcome! A new map is getting ready to be released so its a great time to jump in!

Welcome!! You'll see that the world pans out differently from mostly Minecraft civilization videos, because it's very "roleplay first". By any chance do you watch Joyful's videos too? He has some really interesting analysis of civilization experiments.

Thank you! And no worries, I had a feeling this wouldn’t be so grandiose and compressed! If anything, ish’s videos opened my eyes…but LoTC looks like what I’m really looking for in terms of rp in Minecraft! 💙

Thank you! I was so happy that a member of my community made that as a memorial for a dear friend…I’ll always cherish it, and it captures the energy we have very well! 💙

 

And I have! ish didn’t have enough content for me to consume in terms of Minecraft civilization rp, so I went digging for any I could find! 🤣 I find the differing opinions on different rules and how best to create compelling Civilization rp videos to be very interesting!

That is where you are wrong my friend! This server is MUCH more Grandoise. Literal years of histories, you can read about empires that have fallen and risen, and every citizen, guard, soldier, and Emperor were all players just like ourselves. Enduring organizations that have lasted hundreds of in-character years, swaying the very fate of thousands over many actual IRL years! I hope you enjoy the server as much as I have, and I'm excited to see the mark you leave on our world, as thousands have before you. WELCOME TO LOTC!!!

Thank you! 💪 Grandiose was probably the wrong word. Maybe….high octane would be a better one for ish’s videos? 🤣 They’re short and compressed to give the audience entertainment, but can’t match up to the deep lore of LoTC!

 

But I’m definitely excited to jump in and try to put my own mark on the world! It’s very…intimidating to jump in a server with so much rich history though. But every warm welcome really helps the feeling of apprehension of taking that leap! 💙

Welcome to LOTC! If you love in depth RP and lore, then you've certainly found the right place for it! Just looking at the wiki and current lore alone should give you a clear idea on what to expect! Also, I was actually in the Ish civ event (part of Luminara) so it's great to see it inspire others to dip their toes into Minecraft RP, though Ish' video is more very light RP - LOTC is the deep and detailed RP.

 

I'm a returning old player, so I understand the feeling of being a little intimidated and not knowing where to start. If I see you in-game, I'll be sure to interact with you!

Also it’d be great to hear about your experience in Luminara! 😄 There’s so much that happened in a lot of people’s perspectives that didn’t get covered, so it’d be interesting to hear about what wasn’t in ish or Saps’ videos! 💙

Welcome on in! I need to be negative rq and say don’t use the wiki at this current time. Use forums if you want to look stuff up. But back to positive stuff. I hope you enjoy your time here!

Welcome to the server! Hoe you have a great time and it's always nice for someone to be enthusiastic. I've been in a couple DnD campaigns as well as FATE. Admittedly, I think LOTC is a little closer to FATE. That said like 99% of my roleplay has always been through text-chat via some medium or other. I wouldn't really have it any other way - I find it a lot less restrictive.

Just remember to breathe and touch grass and have fun. x
(and ask lots of questions for all the things you don't understand, even when you're not new there's so many commands /help doesn't list.)
