La Guardia de Francisco

“Que la fuerza del león jamás disminuya.”
“May the strength of the lion never fall.”

Founded in the proud Lordship of Virú, La Guardia de Francisco stands as its eternal protector, a bastion of discipline, courage, and honor. Formed to safeguard the Lordship’s walls, its people, and its order, la Guardia has long served as both sword and shield beneath the banner of el León.

Each member of la Guardia swears an oath before the Golden Sun, a symbol of Virú’s unbroken spirit. They are taught that strength is not merely in steel, but in duty. That courage is not found in defiance, but in endurance.

“Morir al servicio de Virú es vivir para siempre en su memoria.”
“To fall in defense of Virú is to live forever within its memory.”

From the lowest recruit to the esteemed Capitán, all who bear the león rojo upon their cloak stand bound by the same creed: vigilance, valor, and virtue. Together, they are the embodiment of Virú’s will. Unyielding, steadfast, and proud.

Oath

Before the Lion and the Sun, I swear.

I pledge my strength to Virú,
My blade to her defense,
My honor to her people.

I shall stand as her shield when shadows fall,
And as her sword when duty calls.

I will not falter.
I will not flee.
I will not forget the oath I bear.

For as long as the lion roars,
And la bandera de rojo yet rise,
I am of la Guardia, steadfast and true.

Para el León Rojo, para Virú.
For the Red Lion, for Virú.

[In Battle]

¡Para el León Rojo! ¡Para Virú!
“For the Red Lion! For Virú!

¡Rugimos y resistimos!
We roar and we endure!

Military Law

This codex of guidelines and laws applies specifically to members of La Guardia de Francisco, and how they may interact with the public, state, and foreign entities.

The members of La Guardia de Francisco may not:

  • Apply their interpretation and enforcement of laws unfairly or in an uneven fashion; whether to punish someone more severely or to let someone not face punishment.
  • Take bribes.
  • “Turn a blind eye” or otherwise refuse to acknowledge a violation of the law.
  • Be cruel to or otherwise treat the accused with unnecessary force.
  • Or attempt to enforce the laws of Virú outside their jurisdiction.

The members of La Guardia de Francisco will also be held to a higher standard of conduct than normal citizens. For as long as they wear the armor, they are a direct representation of Virú, and will be held accountable for how their actions could negatively affect Virú. This includes, but is not limited to;

  • Misconduct in other nations.
  • Impaired judgement while on duty (being under the influence while on duty.)
  • Making decisions based on emotion rather than logic and the law.
  • Using their authority to extort or persuade citizens of Virú.
  • Attempting to use their authority for personal gain.
  • Attempting to use their authority outside of Virú.
  • Attempting to use powers of the Council or make decisions in their stead.
  • Espionage.
  • For the higher ranking officers of la Guardia, favoring or treating those under their lead with prejudice.
  • Threatening the order and stability of Virú.

If an officer of La Guardia de Francisco is accused of any of these crimes, they will be sentenced to a trial, overseen by the Legislador and the Capitán. If found guilty, they will be removed from their position and may be otherwise punished, depending on the crime and its severity. The punishment may range from fines, to imprisonment, to exile.
