I would remove the need from needing all three voidal feat groups to make it and just have 3 mages. But I like.

I did it cause i think it should be a lil harder to do. Rarer, but not impossible

Most inventions are just locked knowledge tbf. Magic Hats just needs transfig iirc

Would it be a structure or item? Itd make more sense as an item Id say 

Would a mage be able to disconnect from the orb if for whatever reason they seek away from it?

Incredibly difficult to get a Voidstalker, Eminent and Artificier in one place but more probable than having the knowledge passed down to begin with

It is a structure - as clarified within (Not trying to be an ass just making sure ppl know that im not just adding my answers in comments and its in the post)

only if destroyed. but you do raise a valid thought that preventing one from disconnecting would be rather bad faith.

im making it both because i want them to be rare and difficult and annoying to get so they are not spammed!

1. It should realistically have some better description of why it works other than just saying it looks in the threads of fate. Maybe it lets you witness the veil or something. Edit: I would consider using the mental web for this perhaps.

 

2. Should have some inherent magic-y aesthetic too it when not in use, like a mass of stars or a storm of mana inside it or something. It should be blatantly magic beyond just looking like inert arcanium.

 

3. I personally think the creation method is way to complicated, it should either need those three but be open or it should be open but just need one of the three.

 

4. Similarly, I don't mind the memey name or the memey image but it really should not have both at the same time. If it's a structure the image should really be something that better demonstrates that.

 

5. Consider letting the structure be something other than an orb, like a dias filled with water or a giant crystal wall. Giant orbs don't necessarily fit the roleplay of every group in something as varied as voidal magic.

 

6. If it is intended to be a structure the minimum size should not be so small that a single person can easily carry it. I'd suggest 3 to 6 meters as the range for it.

 

7. Is there a particular reason beyond just worrying about it being spammed that the lore needs 3 signing, three feats, locked knowledge, and creation locking around it? The combination of all of these seems far to excessive for what is a bit of a nothingburger (prophecy lore.)

 

8. I'm a bit iffy on mental effects for the feats being removed under any circumstance, even temporary.

Most prophecy lore is as vague as this. Vivification for example only gives one prophecies through a 'connection to the soulstream'.

i meant to have it say that - i'll change it so it's more clear. It's meant to look like ACTIVE arcanium.

it's meant to be difficult enough to make so that only larger groups with access to this will be informed. Plus - the closed knowledge thing will not be a big deal. Tears and Arcanium are also closed knowledge yet i would say 80% of mages know how to do at least arcanium.

It's an orb. Millions must ponder. It's somewhat memey but it is meant to be more 'whimsical' in nature. I suppose I could see it being another shaped structure but dais filled with water is somewhat pushing it. It's meant to be a structure that one taps into, not one that people just look at.

I'll amend that it must be moved in a specific way.

Rare. Rare is cooler. It makes it more of an interesting and badass artifact for people to have. 

 

FURTHERMORE. The requirements are not that harsh AT ALL. It's most there to prevent solo mages from crafting these things up. Large groups of diverse mages may get an orb. Millions must work together.

This gives a reason for people to actually just sit and ponder their orb and make good decisions.
