TO THOSE OF AZURAS,

This missive is designed to warn of the dangers presented by Arthur Burke, a renowned voidal terrorist and voidstalker-turned-voidspawn. A shard of the Chromaweave, an immensely powerful Voidal Terror previously defeated upon Aevos, yet lives within his very mind and is no-doubt feeding upon him as it warps the man to do its bidding. It has granted him powers of chromatic fire which sap the color of all it burns - something once only wielded by the Chromaweave.

Upon Aevos, those who suffered injuries and color-alterations from the Terror itself found their connection to the Void had been temporarily silenced - leeched, perhaps, to empower it - and all vibrance gone from their body, leaving their flesh, clothes, and armor entirely monochrome. The only method of cleansing these effects was time, during which they could not support our forces with abjurations to dispel voidspawn. There is no telling if Arthur’s powers are the same or weaker, given the ‘lesser’ state of a fragment compared to the whole entity.

As it stands, my only hope is that this parasite has not consumed his mind and converted him into a vessel with which it may act. The cunning nature of Voidal Horrors and Terrors should not be underestimated. If Arthur’s mind has indeed been consumed, it is very likely we would never know; the Chromaweave may harbor all his memories and knowledge of all that he was - it may even act as he did, feigning normalcy until it can foster a following of cultists to return by ritual. His previous employment at the Imperial College as their Primarch of Esoterica granted him the perfect foundation where he may have discreetly fostered such a cult.

This seed of the Chromaweave must never be allowed to sprout; it would spell catastrophe for the whole of Azuras - especially if it flourished in secret. I pray, with the release of this missive, universal work may begin to capture this menace so he may be delivered to us and subsequently purged from civilization.

We wield the means by which you will be purged.

We will never cease until the threat of a returning Chromaweave is ended.

TO ARTHUR BURKE,

There shall be no peace, no amnesty, nor quarter given to you. I deemed you irreparable in the past and you have proven me correct tenfold. You will first be purged, then summarily executed by my own hand.

You may submit yourself to us for a single opportunity to live, purged of this malign presence; elsewise you, and those who harbor you, shall be hunted in perpetuity.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION,

You need only reference these previous missives to learn of our fight against the Chromaweave and the dangers it posed to cities and strongholds alike; several are appended, elaborating upon what we once faced - and may face again, should we not act while time remains our ally.

"THE PRECIPICE OF WIZARD UNITY," Arthur spoke grandly, a trail of flames behind him.

"And I am sorry, -------, if he makes me break my promise, but I am not one to kneel to anti-mages, for why would I follow the rules of one who hates themselves so?"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[A smaller missive, easily findable by any.]

To the one that seeks my death, and to any others who may take up arms against I, Arthur Burke.

I'd advise you think for yourself. In this world.

My charge is simple; to cleanse the world of warlockish rot with the powers of the Void.

The Chromaweave is dead because of me, even if I have allowed dear Lothric to take the credit up until this point.

I will continue to live amongst the world, burning the demonic with the fires of the Void, while Lothric works alongside them to hunt me down.

Feel free to reach out for a word. I've nothing to hide.

But if it is my blood you seek, it is my fire you will get.

-Arthur Burke

Aristandra took one look at the missive concerning her beloved within the cozy confines of her home, and upon skimming its contents, her eye couldn’t help but twitch, “How… How do you keep running into such troubles?” The missive was set aside, for the Elfess had much to ponder concerning other recent actions.

Beneath just about every missive that could be found, an additional note was anonymously added:

”He’s also admitted to plotting to kill the Emperor, no surprise there.”

From the great beyond, a white-haired half-elf chuckled at the fact people were looking for Arthur once more. "Do you EVER stay out of trouble?"

“.. Tch.” tuts Hernán, brushing his hair away with a harsh tug of his hood, so he could read the missive further. “Serves him right,” He still seemed petty from an interaction the day before—an argument, they'd call it. Thriving off hate and relishing the bounty, something along those lines, that was his greatness; he thought it a foolish idea. He thought it even more so now.

Auberion recalls the man mocking him within a friend's house in Cerulia, as well as vocally opposing him.

"The Cohort hunts.Announced he, simply.

Homura stared at the missive, raising an eyebrow. She remembered him vaguely from Kalldur, and then from his name in the house in Cerulia. "...I thought that guy just did a lot of drugs and nothing else. Who knew?" She shrugged and placed the missive aside. She surely wouldn't see him around, so there was no need to focus on that.

Viviens lips quiver, a decision she had to make. While hard, it wasn’t difficult either.

the door to her house opened, her staff floated to her donning her black mage gambeson.

She needed to practice to get her mind off things and let out a bit of steam.

Somewhere, a particular mali'ame muses to himself in his quarters. Blind eyes stare into space, and he thought back to days long since past as the missive was read aloud to him. He stretched a hand out, and the missive was given to him.

"Lothric," he spat out. His brows furrowed at the utterance of the name. Memories poured to the surface, and he leaned forwards, resting his chin against his free hand. The page wilted.

After some time, a sigh escaped the former darkspawn, and he shook his head. "Nope! Can't for the life of me remember what I had against that guy. Good on him then, protecting the realm and such. Really turned his life around." He flicked his wrist, straightening the missive as he leaned back in his chair with a sigh. "My, what time does to a grudge." A period of silence passed as he looked again at the missive. Staring at it. Then, "okay, I've had my fun. You can have this back." He tossed the paper aside. His help had long since left the room.

Pepe would look upon the public missive with a strange look, proclaiming out loud, "This man lies like none other. He was late to the actual final battle, he does not wield the blade nor did he shoot the cannon that slew the beast." The Heliwr would sigh, then moving onward down the road to the east, scratching upon his neck as he looks towards the heavens, sniffing to see if it would rain this day...

“How did it take this long for people to look at him and realize this?” Soxton Boomstitch notes as he remembers the VERY flamboyant appearance of Arthur including his RAINBOW outfit, aura, and multiple wings.

Blades are sharpened, and Foci polished.

Those who undermine Order are to be rent asunder, when possible.

COELUM knows such a truth like no other.
