On the Reconciliation of House Grisblood

Let it be known and celebrated (to the dismay of Imperial hopes) that the House of Grisblood is welcomed back into the good favor and grace of The Royal House of Rovare. As was said in other missives, the ills of one man are not shared by avenues of blood, since the stronger bond of a unified spirit supersedes all of the endeavors which take place under the Sun.

Restoration of the Title of Perduran

By the assurances given in the below understandings, all confidence and hope for the future is restored between these Houses. The Barony of Perduran is hereby invested onto the Household, and held by Her Ladyship, Cesia Grisblood-Maravilla, until such a time as she becomes deceased or abdicates the position to one of her lineage.

Due to the swiftness and eagerness of Her Ladyship’s re-affirmation of faith, the record shall show that the title of Perduran was never, since its creation and bestowal, held by any other entity besides that of its original destination, the House of Grisblood.

Declarations of the Baronial Peer

The House of Grisblood acknowledges and accepts as fact the following notions;

  1.  THAT, the Title of Perduran, since its inception, was held by House Grisblood through virtue of its vassal status within the Belethian Federation, and its Liege-Lord, Lord-Paramount Peter I Rovare.

  1.  THAT, the deceased Duke of Perduran (with dignity and honor being due to him by virtue of his Nobility and Knighthood respectively), did deny the authority of the Belethian Federation over Perduran and its population: indicating co-sovereignty, and therefore a rejection of his vassalatic oath.
  2.  This, being deserving of rebuke, was met by the punishments outlined in the ‘Edict of Huntshill & Southspire’. His death, however, is understood not to have been the most effective punishment. For this, HSH, Simon Peter, formally renders an apology to this Household.

  1.  THAT, this title of Perduran and all its due dignities being once again invested onto the House of Grisblood, is done so in exchange for its oath of fealty and vassalage to the House of Rovare and all Lord-Paramounts descended from that lineage.

Declarations of the Liege-Lord

House Rovare acknowledges and accepts the efforts of reconciliation and the re-affirmation of fealty rendered by the Baronial Household. Let all understand, as we do, that bad-taste is not easily dispelled, and We do not punish the natural and justified reactions of those who are indignant. For indignancy, is not treason, nor is it rejection of a liege’s authority.

Privileges and Honors of the Barony of Perduran

  1.  Upon the establishment of the first council in the City of Anatis, the noble peer in possession of the Barony of Perduran shall preside as Governor in that city. The Governor is to be considered the head seat of the City Council. This is granted in recognition of the quality in function practiced by the late Duke.

  1.  From this time, until ten [10] years have elapsed, the noble peer will serve as Governor over that city without interruption. As such, she will assist in directing the administration of Anatis in conjunction with the city council and royal ascent.

  1.  Regardless of standard Belethian routines of succession, or those of traditional style, The Baroness of Perduran and all Her Ladyship’s heirs shall practice the privilege of individual selection for the position of heir.

  1.  Upon the occasion of the next Royal court held in the Gwendolyn Palace, this title shall be raised in rank to that of Viscounty, as a permanent token of this reconciliation and the upward trajectory of this promising House’s leadership.

Maddock Tam still lay at the riverbank, seeming almost dead to the world. Time would tell if he would be found and brought home, to see that, in the end, he was proven wrong.

Far from Beleth, a grieving Greye read the missive. His eyes stumbled over the words, rereading in disbelief. "... they're sorry for slaughtering my brother in cold blood?"

"Why is this woman giving them the time of day?" Scoffed Yelizaveta, ever irked upon sight of the inked names. "Raze their city. Take everything. Hang the murderers." Her lips thinned in distaste. "Do something."

"Niet tae have been ve most effective?" Petyr's eyes rolled as he moved to cast that missive into a nearby flame. "Maybe, just maybe if they had a single brain-cell between anyone down South this wouldn't have happened." He sighed and turned to continue on with his day. "What a disappointment Cesia has become."

"What a sad excuse for a woman and a mother." Einin grimaced upon reading the name Cesia Maravilla. She could not stand to look at such a parchment any longer- as if the Maravilla name that was etched into it, visibly pained her eyes and churned her stomach.

"Disgustin'." The Heiress then scrunched her nose, poison dripping from her sharper tongue. The missive was fed to the flames thereafter.

An old Kharajyr plucks the missive from the hands of a dead messenger, who had failed to notice the ‘No-Furs stay out’ sign.

A snort of amusement leaves her after but a moment

”Killed leader. But it okay, because say sorry!” She cackles. “Suppose time to see what am stronger in those flat face lands- Hatred, or Cowardice.”

Bravery was, after all, a trait unique to the Beastfolk.

The Grand Knight of Beleth, Ser Aviel, would sign off on the documents as a witness to this document's creation and the one that accompanied it.

"Ave Belethia Indivisum." Spoke the Helfgott, sharing a smile to the Crown Prince and the Baroness of Perduran.

House of Grisblood

The former heiress to Grisblood, it's now technical head of house since her fathers passing, Augusta, frowned at the missive. She knew what was coming of course. She had been there at the meeting.

Her anger had long since subsided now. An eerie calm of belief, or was it understanding, had settled as a cloud which loomed over the youth instead.

"So she still abandoned us," she muttered into the coastal air of where ever it was she was staying. "She had a chance to pick family over a title you did net want. And she still chose the title. She is net a Grisblood anymore."

There was no one there for her to speak to, no physical companion.... but perhaps... If she spoke to the wind enough... Her father might just be listening, beyond the mortal plane.
