It was supposed to be just another walk

Another boring day in his retirement

As the pigeons chirped around and the sounds of his wheelchair continued, he moved forward

Stopping by to what seemed to be a memorial of some battle long ago.

The elder stopped and observing silently, He smiled, knowing that maybe, juuuust maybe one day, he could have a statue made in his image

The elder chuckled as he fantasised it before. . .

 

It arrived.

 

“Ah Hick, it had been awhile” the voice . . .. he had heard it before 

 

The voice of an undead as he slowly turned towards it.

What ensued was a long debate about the truth of what comes after death.

It eventually escalated it.

After what felt like hours of fighting, the elder stood exhausted and tired. . .. 

 

Before he fell down to the ground bleeding and unmoving.

Using the last of his strength to look up to the sky, seeing his pigeon pets fly around happily.

 

He smiled and with last of his breath he said
“. . . .finally coming home Daisy. . . “ slowly in his eyes, life left him and so.

 

The uncle has passed away, being stubborn till the very end.

I, Uncle Hick, of sound mind and in good health, write my last will to be followed to the letter and at the discretion of those I name as Executors of said will.

 

As the primary executor of my will, I assign my granddaughter Thalis Thornfield and as a second executor, should Thalis not be able to execute my will, I name my great granddaughter Astrid Artemis Thornfield. I wish for them to contact and give everything mentioned below to the relevant people, according to my wishes.

 

They are to attempt their best, within reason, to contact all the inheritors mentioned within the will and ensure they receive their inheritances. Should an inheritor not answer or not be reachable within four years of the will being opened (one OOC month) then it is left to the discretion of Thalis Thornfield and Astrid Thornfield what is to be done with the items.

 

To my granddaughter, Thalis Thornfield [@Arianthe22] I leave: The book titled Hammerhead. You may do whatever you wish to do with it, Publish it or keep it to yourself. You were truly the best granddaughter i could ever wish for - Love, Grandfather.

 

To my grandson Tazusko [@SmokeTheKnight] I leave: A Map of the Kingdom of Norland made by Livius Flavius, The War Scythe, three (3) Norlandic Marks and The mercs suit. Dear Grandson, I hope you will have a use for these things, you're a very brave soul, I wish you luck with Parenthood -Love, Grandpapa.

 

To my grandson Siegfried [@AurelianCraft] I leave: Soul of the knight, a longsword. My dear Grandson, hope you will continue to fight for the right cause but dont let that hatred consume you, let it inspire you, hope this sword will help you in darkest moments - love, Grandfather.

 

To my great granddaughter Astrid Artemis Thornfield [@CreeperHotDog58 or @WolfyD] I leave: Books on voidal magic and an Upgraded firestarter gauntlet. My dear great Greatdaughter, Even when am gone ill still be around, watching you safely, listening, I always be there for you no matter what - Love, Great Grandfather

 

To my great granddaughter Alice [@Flynnigan] I leave: The art of war written by Tazusko. Dear Great Granddaughter, here's a book your papa made back in Aevos, hope it will give you a laugh with your papa as well - Love, Great Grandfather

 

To the Library of Viru I wish donated: 

Copies of Originals of my Journals (Hick’s Journals). Ruby’s Musins vol 1. The Muritor Elixir written by my granddaughter Thalis. Of suffering & death by Aled Rissa.

 

Additionally, I wish for my Redwood Cane to be auctioned and for the money to go towards improving Viru. This is an item I hold close to my heart, my very first cane. 

 

To my good friend Livius Flavius [@Memenade] I leave: The Gate Reports I wrote when I was a guard in Norland. My best friend, I wish for you to have this, i wrote this during my short time as a gate guard back in Aevos, at least something for you to have to remember me by - Regards, Hick

To Oswald Kingsley [@Vlaming] I leave: The mighty uncles cane. My good friend, thank you once again for making this wonderful cane but theres only one person i should give this to and that's you, also thanks for the calming medicine you gave me, they have helped many times - Regards, Hick

OOCLY: When i first joined this server i didn’t think much of it, Hick was supposed to be a joke persona and nothing more.

But than character development happened and voila XD

The news reached Thalis on her sick bed and for what felt like hours but was only a few moments she laid there, unable to even react. Of all that was lost, of all that was buried, this one hurt the most and the elderly woman was left feeling numb. 

 

She thought of the letter her grandfather had sent her, of the will she was tasked to execute and what little strength she had in her left her.

 

Memories flooded her mind. 

 

Of their first meeting, an old man flying of a bridge just to mess with her, making her truly believe she was dealing with some sort of horror rather than an old man.

 

Of that hazy part of her life. When she had been cursed, unable to remember even her own name, when Hick and her siblings stood as family before they even officially became one.

 

Of when Hick had turned to banditry, to nature and eventually to his family

Through every fight she had with her grandfather and every reconciliation, Hick had stood besides her.

And so Thalis mourned her greatest loss yet. Quiet sobbing filling her empty room.

I just sobbed so hard my mom came in my room to ask what happened (you know cause we're in vc T_T)

There are no word that can describe what you and Hick mean to me.
We become active here around the same time and to see Hick grow as he has and to grow along side him has been an honour.

Oswald had known Hick for a long time by now. He considered him as one of his closest friends. Through the years, they met on occasion. No matter where Oswald went he knew he would somehow bump in to Hick there. 

Oswald Kingsley chuckled upon thinking back on all their great memories but this was soon met by tears. Oswald is not one to cry fast, but for Hick, tears flowed easily.

 

"May you rest in peace, Hick." he sighed "You deserve it."

Genuinely one of the best personas I seen around, having seen him early on when he was just a silly old man and then seeing him grow into a genuinely strong warrior with a lot more to him was certainly something that a good chunk of people aren't able to acomplish

 

So just great job there!
