ITALICIZED or BOLDED Text are changed, STRIKETHROUGH Text is removed.

Pasted Text has been shortened from the page’s full mechanics + redlines to emphasis altered text’s location and scale.

Purpose:

Disconnections function on LoTC as a mechanism by which players can influence and alter the narratives within their lore communities without the need for direct ST intervention. Over the last year or so, however, most if not all disconnection rituals have turned into 1-time, chaos DC clauses that do not require any fundamental foundation beyond the ability to capture another player and complete a ritual within the 2 OOC hour capture limit.

While it is unfair to say all disconnections done over this time have been done in a minimized manner, plenty of cases have occurred where efforts are made to round up and attempt to DC as many individuals as possible, paired alongside changes to the disconnection lore in order to ensure that the first disconnection will remain the last, regardless of a foundation within lore. No singular occurrence has provoked me to write this, but rather an observation of how disconnections have been utilized and amended by players over the year(s). There is no easy way, nor usefulness in individually attempting to address the circumstance of each unique case.

This amendment does not serve to remove the ability to DC other players within their lore sects, but minimize “cheese” (the ability to leverage specific sets of rules or otherwise interactions in order to minimize the work a disconnector must do while maximizing the results they can achieve). My primary goal is that players stop amending disconnection lores before they go to disconnect someone. In this, amendments of this nature are PREVENTATIVE.

The primary difference here between the past set of amendments is A) The focus on requiring LoS with a maximum range and B) Preventing Unattunement from being a try until you get it process. We're kinda guessing what to improve from prior attempts :woe:

Druidism - Communion and Control:

Unattunement

Spoiler

REDLINES:

- Unattunement must be added to a druids accepted Communion & Control TA once it is taught.

- A druid may only be re-attuned (1) time after having been unattuned. If a druid is unattuned once again, they will no longer be able to become a druid.

- The process of unattunement takes a total of [4] emotes to be done before the Druid is fully severed from their connection.

- When utilized upon a Druid, a Treelord’s husk, or a Treelord’s Soul Tree (successfully or not), Unattunement cannot be performed again by those casting the ritual within the same encounter. This cooldown is incurred should the ritual be disrupted before the conclusion of the [4th] emote.

- Druids & Tree Lord Husks, when properly restrained, cannot cause an interruption through physical efforts that would meaningfully interrupt the ritual. This does not apply to Soul Trees.

- Unattunement requires all parties involved to remain within LoS of one another, and the unattuning party to remain within [5] meters of the person being unattuned.

Tree Lords:

Unattument

Spoiler

Unattunement upon a Soul Tree is a rigorous process, and the only way to revert from being a Soul Tree. It requires the location of the Soul Tree itself, rather than just a sapling or the husk. As the blessing is revoked from the Soul Tree, the binding and energies that hold it together are released; with the soul escaping. This process is painful for all those involved; the Tree Lord, and all participants of the unattunement.

Rules regarding Unattunement Here:

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/186715-magic-lore-druidic-communion/

*Unattunement requires the location of the Soul Tree.

*If Unattunement is attempted on the Husk, the Husk will die for 24 OOC hours, and the participants will still be drained as if they unattuned someone. After 24 hours the Druids will reawaken from their tree feeling unimaginable pain.

*All Unattunement readlines per current Druidic Communion & Control apply.

*Unattunement is a PK.

*Regardless of success or failure, Unattument cannot be performed again by those casting the ritual within the same encounter. This cooldown is incurred should the ritual be disrupted before the conclusion of the [4th] emote. This cooldown remains throughout any frozen RP incurred within the original encounter.
