This tool was created to make Al'tahrn-Durngo more functional while in roleplay, instead of breaking away from immersion by sifting through a cumbersome document.

Everything has been made functional within the searchable, filterable format. Click a word, it drops into the phrase builder where you can copy it, or view and download the written form in Durngo'roshak.

There's a root-tracing graph that shows how words connect to each other through derivation and meaning.

There is also another renderer built into the site, converting your written words into Durngo’roshak, a script created by Watyll himself.

In early Athera, Watyll crafted a language that would be spoken and written for well over a decade.  Al’tahrn-Durngo had its own interpretation of what it meant to be the “Tongue of the Dead”, and unlike many languages we see on this server it was not a rebranding from outside the Aos/Eos. It was, and continues to be, an extremely unique addition to our community, and one that thousands of characters have interacted with.

Before Watyll passed, he provided Mephistophelian permission to expand upon Al’tahrn-Durngo. Mephistophelian took the mantle, carried the language forwards, but eventually moved on from our community - doing so without nominating a successor. The lore remained stagnant after that, until in 2021, when Tentoa took the mantle, with Zarsies and Mordu offering him assistance with world lore integration. The structure Watyll created was a secure foothold for Tentoa as he expanded the volume and scope of the lexicon considerably, tying its lore neatly into the Ebriateas, while increasing the number of cataloged words and phrases to well over 1,200.

Thanks for laying the framework for something awesome, Watyll. Our characters still speak it, write it, and talk about it to this day. I hope we’re making you proud.
