What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?

1.Biograhy:

For me this is the most important part of the aplication. The bioraphy lets us see what this person knows of rp.If he knows how to write a good story that will interest the readers so he will be a good rper. The biography will also let us know how dedicated he is to the server. For exaple if the person makes a fairly big bio it will be more likely that he will dedicate more time to the server and to the rp.Because he puts alot of effort in his bio so he expanded his character and someone that will only stay for like 2 weeks and doesnt care about the server wont put lots of effort in it.

2.Not making up their own lore and folowing the lore:

This is very important to me If people dont folow the lore it will show us that he doesnt know what the server is all about. The person will just make up what he wants to make his char cooler and more powerfull powergaming to the extreme. For exaple a guy might make:My character is son of the greatrst wizzard ever but after a fight which he won with no wounds on him he discovered he is the heir to the thorne of Aegis. But this will only show us that he doesnt know how to rp and wont be accepted.

3.if read and understodd the rules:

This is important to know because the server has rules like everything else.We cant have people sceaming ooc stuff, griefing buildings and randomly killing people.Asking the persons favorite and least favorite rule is a way to make sure he read them and understodd them

4.Grammar and his skill in english:

I have to admit i dont have the best grammar nor the skill in english a English or a American might have. But i think people can understand what i type and my gramar. But this is important because if you cant understand what the person is tiping he wont be able to properly rp.

5 The persons experience with rp:

This will let us check if the person knows how to rp and what rp is.Will also be good to see what they can rp as and how they can rp

Comments:Ive been on the server since release and i want to help the server that provided me with such fun and enjoyment.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?

Biography- To make a good biography, you have to be a pretty good writer. I think writing influences RP and we don't want any people on the server that aren't good RPers! But it also proves that you can think of creative ideas for your character, not just,"My parents were raided by orcs."

Definition of Roleplay- Totally self explanatory, but I'll explain it anyways. This is a roleplay server, you have to know what roleplaying is!

Grammar- If somebody shows horrible grammar, you can guess they're not very committed to getting in. They probably did it in a rush job, and we don't want uncommitted people joining!

Good Grip on English Language- If English is hard for people to write, it will be hard for people to read. I think they should have an excellent grip on it in fact, so they can type and interpret it fast.

Read and Understood Rules- Rules are what keep everything (in game and out) under control. You NEED to know the rules if you want to join the server!!!

Hopefully it gets accepted, if its not I'll be redoing it =P

Top 5 things:

Proper Biography:

A application to the server needs a good biography... This is the most essential part of the application. In a biography there should not be false lore. False Lore is made up lore that attributes to your biography. If an application does not follow the set lore of the world it is at fault. It is crucial to look at a faulty biography of your character with the mindset of, Does this biography reflect that the applicant has spent time truly reviewing the lore or has he made history and lore up? It ruins the biography to not follow the set lore as best as possible.

Grammar:

Although there is some excuses to the grammar issue with many applicants but most are to be used as a tool to the application team. Grammar shows on an applicant. Hopefully a 9 year old wouldn't lie and say hes 4 to get by but if the grammars bad then I would consider which race he wants and direct him to the orcs. XD

Graciousness:

I like seeing applicants show how thankful they are for the GM's and when they thank the application team for taking the time to read the application. That shows maturity and maturity has proven over and over to be a good trait in a RPer. Its hard to take a application seriously if the applicant is in any form raging over past denied apps.

Experiences with RP:

Although it is fun to teach new players how to RP it is good to see applicants who already have experience with RP. Its good to see newly accepted players jump right into the RP and add to the fun. When a applicant reads the lore of the world and has had past RP experiences it seems that they understand what has happened easier. I remember my first RP experience and after reading the Lore of that world I came to the conclusion that unless I got into the server I would not understand.

Working Skin link:

It shows on an applicant to one, have a Working skin link, and two, to create their own skin. Although copying skins is by no means bad it shows good on an applicant when he spends time to create a good RP skin. Without a working skin link it can show that the applicant is either lazy or doesn't want to make sure its working or not.

Hope I get accepted!!! I really wan to add to the server!!!

Yea, I believe we should hold off for about a month before adding any more people, I've looked through pages 1-35 Now and haven't found a single application not done already now I'm waiting for new people during the day.

I might say the same thing, but there is an exception for me. Before shiftnative even made this topic, I had asked if I could become an application moderator. He said he would accept me, but then he made this topic. So I kinda wasted my time I have to admit, asking him if I could just join with the app. But now that I have written an app, if it is good, I think I should be accepted.

Top 5 things:

1. Their idea of what Roleplay is:

Considering that this is one of the best RP servers. Roleplay plays a VERY big role in how the server works. How they interact and act in-game must always reflect their character to help enhance the RP for everyone they encounter, and more importantly how they understand proper roleplay. Not just adding a "th" at the end of every word to sound midieval like " Howth is your aleth" (Exagerated line).

2. Biography:

How have they made their characters biography. I always browse thru various apps in my free time normally checking their bios and such looking for signs on Mary Sue's such as "the most legendary warrior in Aegis" or someone saying they are the chosen one or like the main hero, or something along those lines anyways and does their character fit the lore unless they supposedly have their own RP religion.

3: Their grammar and grip on the english language:

Considering that majority of the entire player base all speak English it is very important to pretty much the whole community to be able to speak and write at least a good chunk of the language. However for players who are probably from a country that doesn't use English much it is understandable for some grammar problems. But for like someone who roleplays as a Orc then in-character grammar problems are acceptable.

4:If they understood the rules:

If they understood this servers various rules and regulations. To help maintain the fun for all players, and that they understand on how serious breaking some rules are such as Flyhacking(causes lag, wandering souls not excepted), no-RP kills(1 liners included) and OOC insulting( insulting someone out-of-character which is no longer and RP as it now turns into bullying)

5:The effort put into the app:

If they actually tried making the app well and not simply making a bio that might be about 5 sentences only and how they answered some of the questions in the app whether they actual explained some of their answers or just said a simple yes or no.

Hope I get accepted been wanting to find another way to help the playerbase.

Well if there was an exception for you, you wouldn't even be able to do applications since everybody is so quick to review them.

What do you think are the top five things, that are most important in an application and why?:

1) Knowledge of the Lore: In my personal opinion, I believe that an application NEEDS to follow the lore of the server. When I first read a biography in an application I think it should clearly show that the person posting the application has read the lore well enough that they can incorporate the lore into their character's biography in some sort of way. I believe that there should be some form of creativity in an application so that it is not just telling about the family members of the character, but a story that tells about the character's history and what he has been through. With that being said, the biography should also not go against the lore either. This means that the biography shouldn't have any made up places in Aegis or having the character being part of a royal family without the family's permission.

2) Neatness of the Application: Basically, when I first open an application and I see a lot of bad spelling, punctuation, and format, I automatically think that this person just doesn't care about their application. When you can tell that a person didn't take their time to write and proof-read their application, it means that they just wanted to get it over with. I want to see only the dedicated being accepted into this game. Now, if I do come across an application that is not neat or well written I will ask them nicely to just go back over the application and fix some things. If they do go back that obviously means that they care and want to be accepted into the server.

3) Knowledge of Roleplay: It seems that there a lot of people who apply for the server who know very little about roleplaying. I'll admit that when I first applied I knew very little too, but when I read the "What do you know about Roleplaying?" section of an application I want to clearly see that the person has had at least a little experience with Roleplaying. I would like to see that they clearly understand the very basics of Roleplaying. That they can make the character whoever they want them to be (without being overpowered) ; such as, a teacher, warrior, villain, etc. Since this is a Roleplaying server the player must be able to roleplay well enough that they don't get complaints about them.

4) Creating a Realistic Character: I haven't seen many people create a character who is the absolute must powerful character in the server, but you do sometimes get that occasional person who makes a character who has amazing powers or who has immense authority. The server obviously would not be nearly as fair if everyone could create that character who can fly or kill someone in one hit or who is just completely better than everyone else. I want to see that the person has created a character who has some good skills (that are reasonable) but also has some downsides to a character too because every person has some sort of downside. If I do see someone who has created an unreasonable character I will just let them know that they cannot make their character extremely powerful.

5) Minecraft Skin: I have seen many people who have been denied because of them either not having a skin or not having a roleplaying skin. Obviously, when you see someone in-game who has, for example, a Pokémon skin it kind of ruins the rp experience. The entire point of having races is so that the players have a real rp experience and so that they can look and play as the character. In an application, if someone doesn't have a suitable skin that follows rp and characteristics of the races then I would ask them to find a different, more suiting skin for their character. Luckily, with the server being rp there are many different looks for characters, so there are many skins to choose from.

Thank you for reading and good luck with the new update.
