To that blood of mine within Viru, those who claim the blood of the Inka Yupanki, that brood of Pachakutiq. Some time ago, I departed from your craven ways, your harboring of evil and disgust soiled my image and the image of mine Panaka to the extreme, and I left you to your biddings. However, there is something that remains upon mine mind, for you all bear the relics granted by mine Ancestor unto you- now harbored illegally and without right within the palms of your disgusting hands.

 

I call to that Brood of Pachakutiq, to give forth everything our fateful ancestor of Leomonte granted unto you under the false guise that you plied as his descendants, yet you throw away his name and ply another false one. None of you bear any right to hold such relics of import, none of you bear any right to my ancestor’s works of art, none of you bear his name, so you will grant them back unto I. The Twin Blightsteel Spears: Chukipanka and Pukamaru, The Heavenly Starsteel Rosary: Viracocha, The Golden Axe of our Ancestor Leomonte: Qurikunya, The Golden Pendant: Tumi, and any other relic his hand has graced that you now hold.

 

Perhaps if you show me this level of good faith, in returning what is rightfully mine, I may be less hostile to your brood. Perhaps I may view you with a modicum of Respect.

Exiled beyond the eyes of his tribe, Kusi Amaru Leomonte brooded upon the jagged cliffs of the southern pearl shores, where the sea crashed like a war-drum against the bones of the world. Salt stung his face, and the wind came howling out of the abyss, clawing at his wolven cloak as though it ached for the copper-flesh beneath. 

 

His dark eyes narrowed as he turned inward, to the memory of the prophet... Pachacuti. The world coiled in his mind like a hunting python. World-turner. Fate-breaker. The ruin of all that stands. Was it prophecy, the shaman spoke of, or doom? 

 

His grip tightened around the haft of his club. The dead flame writhed, as if stirred by his thoughts. And somewhere in the depths of the iron-heavens, thunder answered. 

 

“Virú…” He muttered, the name falling from his lips like a curse.

 

They were not the brood of a conqueror. No wrathful flame burned in their blood. Nor were they the iron-born warriors of the red-peaks, who carved their fates with steel and laughter amidst slaughter. No–Virú was softer than clay, shaped by tides and trade. Not by war and ruin.

 

He pondered. The wind screamed and the storm broke. And then the barbarian rose.

Taki pondered for a moment and pursed his lips. The Tawantinsuyin born from the red-peaks read that missive swiftly

He said once more by the open campfire at the village which his people reside. The star child uttered from his ebon-lips and tossed that very missive with the fire

Then, he calls us craven for changing our name, as he demanded, and says that because we have done so, we no longer deserve my Father's relics that he rightfully passed down to us. We did not throw away our name. We gave it to him for the sake of peace." 

 

Gloria shakes her head sadly. "Did he not find the glory he claimed the Empire would bestow upon him? Was he not rewarded as he claimed he would be? This boy who has never even seen the shores of Tawantinsuyu..."

The young Lord to be, immersed in his studying and research, looks upon the missive in confusion. His brows furrow in deep thought, before his lips crease into a frown.

 

"Evil? What evil have we done? We've done nothing wrong..." Basilio rolled up the missive, tucking it into his bag full of scrolls and other assortments of parchment, before withdrawing a leatherbound notebook. "Maybe I missed something. Maybe I should look deeper..." Then, another thought came to him, one that caused his visage to become laden with sorrow. "...Maybe he is just angry... But... Why?"

 

He did not have an answer, he did not know. But he would find answers, one way or another. Starting with the library of Virú.
