Attention People of Aegis

The Mage Guild is now accepting members once more. Although not just any one can join, follow the steps and tips below to possible join this guild.

Do not ask to become an apprentice this shows us that you may lack the simple skill of patience which is vital in being a good mage

((We look for people with good rp skills, we don’t want people going about power gaming magic, this would make the guild itself look bad))

Altogether we will have people watching the people of Aegis about this. ((Just show us you have good rp skills and can handle being a mage and we might contact you))

Also there is a “Token” of sorts that can be shown to a guild master so show you have what it takes to be a mage. If you find this token which is hidden and guarded this will increase your chances of being selected.

Elindor looks at the sign and ponders for a moment.

Eventually he says to noone but himself, "If I were to pursue this, surely it would be from a selfish desire to posess magic."He considers for a moment longer about the theology of mages, the sources of their power and their interests in preserving balance. He takes out a quill and writes eloquently under the sign, "Elindor is interested in being 'watched'."

Stepping back from the sign Elindor stares at his name, pondering what foolishness it may be that he has volunteered for.

Ashur walks through Laurelin, smoking from a wooden pipe, when the notice on the message board catches his eye. He removes his pipe and reads the message slowly, remembering the brief apprenticeship with another mage he had once had.

This raised a few questions, of course. Could this be the chance at magic that he was pursuing so relentlessly so long ago? But, the teachings of the mage came back into play: "Magic cannot be skillfully learned hand-in-hand with the blade of a warrior. If you cling to physical abilities, there is nothing I can teach you. You must clear that which you hold onto to truly succeed in the magic arts."

With the servants of Iblees growing in strength and number, Ashur had relied more on his weapons to survive as of late. The monsters hunted in packs with better weapons, and they were faster. He quietly weighs the consequences of trying to study magic. Would it be smart to give up his physical abilities? Would he have enough strength to survive without his fighting skill? After all, most of the "spells" that the mage taught him simply didn't work or flopped. How could he be sure?

...Eventually, Ashur decides to do nothing. If he has true potential, the mages will somehow find him. There are more important things to think about in times of late. He relights his pipe and walks into the morning fog, eventually forgetting about the sign and what it represented.

Clad in golden armor, with not a single scratch on it, cleric Gabriel steps by this sign. As he reads in astonishment, he nods to himself and kneels in front of it. Several people step by as he says to himself a prayer,

"Aeriel, you are my life, my everything, and there is nothing you owe, but in this time of darkness, I need all the help to further my abilities to aid in the cause of decimating evil creatures. Aeriel I ask you guide me, and them to the path of enlightenment, and I ask that you forgive that which has been done by me. It is in your name I pray, amen."

The cleric Gabriel stands, and steps off slowly, before stopping a last time a taking a bow to the inanimate sign. In his heart of hearts he wishes to be as learned as those whom are in the guild, and he hopes for his chance at joining it. Until the time comes, if the time comes, he knows he has duties to uphold, and sets off once more.
