Shoi 173 Share Posted November 11, 2011 I am taking my time to write on Shoi's history. As to help understand her a little better. I just wanted to make a small entry first about my expectations of this "Journal" 1. This is Shoi's personal writings so it will be written in first person. 2. She carries this book on her at all times, if someone reads it I expect it to be RP'd out if she laid it down. It's hidden on her person so, no God moding : Takes Shoi's book. I will ignore it and most likely report you for metagaming since no one knows she carries this book yet. [9/9/2011] Other then that I hope you enjoy I put a lot of work and effort into writing this. This holds her past up to the present. I may occasionally add to it. Some part may be written in my own view of watching her in narration to add some other details. I am still looking for the logs here and there as they are mixed in several different files cause I was to lazy to make one for them. Enjoy! THIS HAS SOME GRAPHIC MATERIAL YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 Another restless night... I can start to feel the energy drained from by body. I'm becoming more deprived of sleep. I actually cut my fingers several occasions tending to the thistle fields. The Master Herbalist is starting to notice. He told me to take a day off... I spent the day in the library, reading more on history. But the dream... So much blood, I still have no idea how they never noticed me. My mother was so protective. Why did they have to take her life. She did nothing but help the humans. I owe Urasept my life... -Editor's view- The Dream -The sounds of yelling, shouts of threats sounded through the walls almost deaf to the small white hair'd girl. Men and woman gathering, their torches raised high. Her pale green eyes opening, seeing dancing lights on her wall. Sitting up in bed she tried to hear the muffled words. Slowly crawling from her bed, her right hand clinging to a small worn teddy. Another young elvan girl lied in the same bed, undisturbed. Her bare feet tiptoeing across the wooden floor of her small bedroom. Standing as tall as she could with her tiptoes. Her eyes hardly able to see over the window seal as she peered out seeing the angry faces. Her gaze wondering over them as they were still trying to climb over the wooden fence her Father built two summers ago. Only a child, her mind pure and innocent. Untainted living in a small home on the edge of a human village. Her Father built their home from the ground up, a few sheep and chickens in the yard. Why did they look so angry... She didn't understand. Her father, Arathyn, would burst through the door, causing her to jump slightly and gaze at the tall Elven. He swooped Aleryn up, and took her hand and lead her wordlessly into the living room were her mother, Mizuki, was hurrying a small bundle of supplies. The creases in his face looked determined and worried. His long blonde hair slightly burdened over his eyes, messy. Very unusual for him, a slight stubble on his jaw. His eyes sucken in dark circles under his eyes were even seen agianst his dark skin. He was always to clean and cheery. Now dark and distracted, something must be wrong. Shoi was scared seeing the worried looks on their faces. Her teddy held close to her as Arathyn set her down and grabbed her by her shoulders. His bright blue hues looking into her pale eyes, a very weak smile of sadness crossed his face. The creases only more apparent with that sad smile. He tossed her long white locks with a almost shaken hand. His lips were dry and cracked with worry, his words were almost heart breaking. But his eyes still holding a love for his daughter, fearful of her life. His only offspring. "Shoi, always remember I love you. You are a special girl. Never forget that. Always remember who you are." He would hug her then tightly, standing and kissing his wife for the final time. He would not be following but attempting to hold the angry people off. Shoi's hand would be grasped as Mizuki led her out of the door. Her teddy landing on the floor. She struggled to keep up with her long lagged mother, her own long white hair swirling behind them. Shoi tried looking back, her Mother's face said everything. Aleryn was swooped up by her borther Urasept. His darken skin conflicting as he darted ahead of them. Mizuki telling him to run. The sounds soon died, leaving behind. The tree's weaved by as she tripped and struggled to keep up. Falling face first into a mud puddle. Her mother lifting her up and sadly wiping her face off as mud stuck to her hair. Shoi's mother lifted her up and carried her for a short while. But turned into a large willow tree as horse hooves were heard galloping sound echoing through the forest. Her cloak wrapped around Shoi, holding her for dear life. Her Mother's finger trembling as she placed a locket around her neck. Kissing her forehead she hid Shoi the best she could pressing her into the small hole of the willows roots. Her face was pale, strucken with fear. She knew she must die in order to save Shoi. Her back pressed to the tree hiding the hole with her body and cloak. "Shoi, your father and I love you very mu-" The word froze, a silver blade before her face. Shoi's eye swelled with tears. The blood... Ran down the blade, and dripped onto her night gown. Her small body curled back into the tree clinging to her locket as she heard the humans cheer at the death of her mother. The tears fell like rain. And then lightening would wreak the skies, and small droplets fell from the heavens. "The girl must have ran further into the woods, FIND HER! The bloodline of this elven woman must die tonight. Eye for and eye, child for a child." Shoi would hide in the tree for what felt like a forever. She finally would emerge, hearing Urasept's tone gasp. Her mother's dead body shielding her from death. Shaken at the sight of her mother's dieing body. Her tiny frame crumpling over her mother's body and wept. With her small bare hands she dug a shallow grave for her mother with Urasept. Placing small stones to mark the grave, and in small pebbles she wrote "Vien" Which means Beautiful Mother in elvan. Always waking at this moment. The sweat dripping from her brow. Then the tears of the loss of her parents. Alone the actions of ignorant humans broke her family and heart. Shoi judged humans that day. Her mind and heart became fearful of them. Urasept was forced to leave Aleryn and Shoi in a orphanage to keep then safe while he left to find work.

Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 The air was so bitter... So cold agianst her pale skin, her once bright blue eyes now a fallen cold gray. The small tears running past the bruised cheeks, frozen from the cold northern air. Her snow white hair was flaked in red from the blood of her bare shoulders, the scratches and bite marks were so very deep. Her wounds suffering, the lack of body heat stilling from her lips in a small gasp of vapor. Her body would handle the pain no longer. Falling on the broken cobble beneath her. Fingers digging into the trodden snow of travelers before her. A harsh cough raked her frame, blood staining the white snow as her body fell to the side. Tears forcing their way over the previous somewhat melting them. Her hand grasping at her chest as she felt a pain like a dagger twisting in her heart. Her fingers lightly reaching up touching the small silver pearl earring. Her vocals were shaken, the pain was to hard to hide now. Shoi's skin was slowly falling to the point of being as white as the snow around her. She had wondered, ignored, through the city of Al'Khazar in such state. Her lips were dry and felt so cold, never to feel the one whom gave everything for her again. Her body on her hands and knees attempting to stay strong, but her bones were beginning to ache. "Ri-lath... I will wait with Aeriel for you... I will always love you... Please-" Her spine gave out, her cheek felt the even colder presence of the snow caressing her cheek. It was as if Aeriel was watching, the winds softly blew over the snow covering the damaged ascended. Slowly her vision blurred, but one last gaze at the cold night sky. The stars above shining in the clear black sky. Her eye finally shuttered closed. The last breath was as cold as the air around her. Shoi body was suddenly glowing a soft pearl essence, then consumed by the light. The light then shattered and the specks fell from the sky till they dimmed into nothing. All that laid on the road was a small silver pearl with the wind whisper forgive around it.
Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 I didn't understand what I saw today. I'm thankful for Decora and Vardak letting me hide in their home till I figure out what had happened. There is so much going on in my head it's hard to keep it straight. I am still trying to figure out what the wind said, I swore I heard a woman's voice. I couldn't find Rilath or any other ascended. The undead were walking in the day light, I heard them talking. About the Sage's disappearing. I don't understand... They whisper Rilath was in the dark creed again... I hope this is not true. Just the thought- makes me ill. I have taken the time to color my hair with ash... It makes me feel disgusting to have to hide. But with them looking for my death, I cannot trust anyone for now. I owe Syrio with my life. Allowing me to hide in Alras till this all is figure'd out... -Editor's View- -The sound was so calm, the ocean calling. The cool night wind dancing about the land falling over her frame. Her eyes opened, pupils straining to see. Her hand pushes her up as she looked around. The sand shifting under her as she stood. The whisper singing on her hair as it suddenly ruffled past making her hair dance. ~Find the way, for baring child...~ She blinked and looked around trying to move her hand to push her long hair away. She looked up and there, was the end of the road... White Road. She scrambled up the side and looked at the hard stone. Her eyes shifting up as her jaw dropped. This once was were she walked into Haven's grand gate. The wind shifted eeriely past her causing a chill down her spine.- 'Haven... is gone...' -The rain fell, heavily as she slipped down the long road. Seeing new buildings and structures. A small house allowed her in. But while they slept she took the cloak they offered her and she left into the night hiding her face and taking on a rasped tone hoping to pass as a old herbalist. Slowly she made her way hearing dark words of the undead minions. Whispers of Rilath becoming and Overseerer. A knot took her throat as she took to the tree towards Alras. She slipped into the walls with luck coming upon the king asking for guidance in the way of hiding in his wall. He offered little knowledge of the Sage's passing. Swallowing nervously she came across Decora's manor and was taken in. Taking black ash to her hair to hide from her enemies. Using a little magic to change the iris of her soft blue to red. Her mind would crease as she wondered around attempting to find out what had happened to the world. But even in that case, Shoi finally understood those words. She was with child...-
Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 I spoke with Selina, our mind-link was severed but on seeing her I was able to establishment it. I was so happy to see her alive. She told me of the last Sage's I had heard about. I was shocked of their actions. But she reassured me about Garn's ideas and even though he wasn't expecting... Other's were following. I will make sure to travel to the north to seek out Garn's wisdom. Selina was also pleased to hear of my child. It made me so happy to see her again. I'll never forget our first day learning magic together, and how she laughed in class at Sage Sue with his stern yet funny studies. How I have missed her and the other ascended. They are my brethren and my sisters. My family. -Editor's View- -Shoi would stare at her for the longest time. There she stood. It was almost crippling to watch her speak. Shoi could not help herself, the link rebuilding between them as she whispered in her own mind out to Selina. Her face... It would never be forgotten as their eyes linked. Shoi explained swiftly of her ideas of hiding to find out why the people of Aegis found hatred in them so. And hopes to return one day to their sides. She was so sadden by the parting though. To see Selina walk away to the North. Such a small moment of time, seemed to understand so much more. Then slowly she traveled to the great cities, even the Orc's land. Finding out the corruption in the world was running deep. So deep it was tainting the mind of the people. Iblees hold was returning. The lack of the Sage's was to think of a new time. She refused to stand by any longer. The pain of people hurt was becoming far to much. She would travel to the North and seek out Garn, her body now showing a tiny bit. She covered herself ashamed, and shy. But still proud in her mind to be carrying a child. Really when it was told to her by the whispering voice.-
Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 I was shocked, the moment I walked up Garn knew whom I was. He said the eyes gave it all away. Even the way I stood he knew about the child. We spoke a lot of what was occurring and how people were forced in the was of the ascended but seemed to be adapting in their ways. He told me of the idea of over throwing the last Sages. It all just seems about war... Why can there not be peace in the world. My mind ache at the thoughts. I agree'd with Garn I would return and find my light again. Which came sooner then I thought. Meeting new faces was exciting and fun. Seeing old friends brought a long lost smile to my face. To be welcomed home was all I could ask for. Then Garn handed me a letter, said it was to me. I swiftly ripped it open. Arcadius and Blaedr had left me their possessions. They left staves to be given to the ascended, and their books for knowledge. I couldn't stop reading, the words were so many... I couldn't stop reading. I discovered the location of the Tree of Life still living in the word even though Haven was gone. I couldn't keep my mind straight so I wondered the encampment. The things I read were so vast. My head ached trying to sort everything out. Working on ideas and plans with Garn was fun and interesting as Abeam and Renzbro seemed excited. Telling me how the group would now be called Enlightened. Their excitement made me laugh. Seeing joy rather then fear was so enjoyable. Selina was often peering in and out as she was taking Chrisdena under her wing. I was lost. I didn't know what I was doing as I only could pass on what I could to them, Garn asked for me to help teach them to become true ascended. But first I had to learn something... Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 11, 2011 I have done it! I can not believe I have mastered it. I saw Arcadius do it when he healed Rilath's undead chest wound. Summoning a flame without the assistance of a staff. The pain and suffering is worth learning this trick. Now it's so easy and simple. It drained my energy fast though... Without using something to focus allows me to use more energy faster, but with the lack of energy it is hard to keep at it... I cannot wait to teach my students. Though I hope they do not forget our allied staves for they assist us greatly in long term battles. -Editor's View- -Four full days of filling the room with a magic vapor. Shoi was already drained from just this practice. Then was a resting period of two days. She would awaken to sneak into the meditation room. Her heart pounded heavily. She sat carefully laying the unstable staff before her. A gift from Sue. A weak smile crossed her face as she placed her palm before her. She had attempted this many times before. The fire usually just exploded before her. She summoned the fire, taking in the vapor as she does, using it to hold the fire stable. She concentrated both hands on the tiny fire. They shook and trembled around the tiny flame. Vision became blurry, difficult to focus. 'I can do this!' She would scream in her mind as she watched the fire suddenly grow in her palms. She focused for 3 days, the lack of sleep raging in her mind. The air was becoming thin of magic. The fire died in her hands as she shook her head. She failed again, throwing her fist at the wall it burst into flames. She stopped an inch short off the wall staring at her hand. The fire was now silver and flickering. Then slowly died out. Tears ran down her face as she hugged her own arm and smiled. She had finally able to cast the spell, then everything fell black... On wakening, she found herself regenerated and feeling but more awake. She stumbled to her feet, was it all a dream. She raised her hand, then her eyes opened wide as the silver fire flicked forth from her hand. She smiled as she slashed her hand back across watching the fire dances away from her and fading. She couldn't help but grin as she felt the joy run though her. She sighed softly and smiled. The pain and suffering paid off...-

Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 16, 2011 Unlocking the idea of the forgiveness to a new level. The ascended saving the undead. Upon figuring out the idea undead are allowed their souls yet connected to their body. Selina discovered to seal taint away in gems she had begun collecting for studies. So I turned my attention towards a small body. Being his name was Lennith and recently dragged into the undead ranks. We did a ritual on Brevias before he became Overlord. Using our blood to help regen a new body for himself. Chrisdena, Selina, and myself have found that out our blood is unlocked a way of devouring the taint. The blood seems to recolor when it’s touched by air to imbue some magical property. Selina’s and Chrisdena resonated gold and my own a silver. As taught in the ways of healing Selina and I have given the idea that we can take the undead taint onto ourselves. Taking the curse by force though the magic of assistance. It’s extreamly painful and I still bare the mark from Brevias cleansing. I cannot allow the others to know of this doing. I’ve noticed the pain grow when I am near Brevias. Like a beacon towards him. So I draw myself further for them hidden in the north. But then Lennith... The pain is easier to bare. Seeing his brightened face bring me great joy to see him play with his brother. Taking him in was hard at first but the mark I bare from his cleansing is not as large for being to unknowing of his powers. Though now taught under the wings of the ascended. He has a bright future, I hope. And so I hate to place this down on paper for myself to read over and over. Is it a sin to save the ones we were swore to protect against into our ranks...? I pray not to see the new joy in their faces for saving them, tis all I could hope for. Is this what the true purpose of us is. To save those whom are fallen...? -Editor’s View- As ascended they have a special blood awoken when they are ‘reborn’. This is possible for anyone to become ascended. All carry the blood even if it is extremely minor. This is aengul blood. Which is of Iblees and Aeriel. The undead are corrupted blood, fill with taint that causes the body to rot and become nothing but bones. Their souls tormented within their fragile bodies. As Ascended are reborn into the world, being brought new. Their old mind and heart destroyed and reborn within a new body, forgiven soul. Unlocking their blood in the process allowing them the magic to defend themselves and cleanse others. They healed sins by taking the harm onto themselves. So if one was to slit their wrist, causing harm to themselves. An ascended can take the wound on themselves giving the being forgiveness for what they have done. Assuming that ascended heal at a faster rate it would be controlled in this way. So if a being were to go undead, this would be a grave sin. Again, the ascended could take it onto themselves leaving grave damage since it is a curse. Proving the markings/scars remaining as a painful reminded of that beings sin. In turn some ascended will have this gift as others will not. So figuring that Selina, Chrisdena, and Shoi being the only whom can forgive other’s grave wound keeping a balance in the cleansing. Were other ascended can only heal minor taints of the children of Aegis. Using the Tree of Life pool around it as a run off to assist them in such occasions. The small Tree of Life is not the original sadly, but an offspring. The tree itself cannot give or take power from a being, the original meaning of the tree was of hope. The original ‘Tree of Life’ was part of Aegis, growing when the people and the land prospered. Also the tree would fend off the tainted beings from Haven, which kept the area free of taint. When the Sage’s left and darkness drew close the Tree began to die, as the fear grew. Although small, the sapling from the Tree of Life growing in Aeriel’s gives and takes from the pool residing around it. Magical run off can be used for healing wounds and removing taint from those who truly fear or do not wish to be sickened by it. Although young the sapling still has potential influence, but it’s roots are till immature and has not embedded itself into Aegis complete influence. Though there are not all are perfect within the ascended. For some have fallen. Their blood sealed of their abilities and falling into the undead ranks. This can only be done if the ascended truly loses all faith in Aeriel. Their heart falling into the darkness and devoured by Iblees taint. This would be the most painful endurance. But to become undead they have to endure a week of pain and corruption. Their blood refusing to bend, and if it does. It shall snap, all their knowledge of the ascended life they one had faded into shattered bits of memories like glass. Their blood sealed away for ever from the abilities they once had never to return. In torment their past blood causes a chain of events in Aeriel’s sorrow making her ascended even harder to corrupt by Iblees taint. Now as for undead returning to their earlier start. It’s a lot more tricky. They cannot be reborn for it has no meaning and they would become another. So the ascended give their own being of blood to recover the curse onto themselves. Again only Chrisdena, Selina, and Shoi only one able to do so. This is draining and can only be done if all three are together in the ritual. If done alone their bodies take great damage and must deal with the pain and consequences for many days. Being dark markings, a painful state of mind. Possibly seeing their darkest memories. But by default the damage is far to grave on ones being to keep recovering the undead. If they wish to be free they will be killed and cleansed in such way. Their souls relieved to Aeriel herself. The damage the ascended took recovering the lost souls was found to be permanent leaving grave marking and psychological problems on the one whom took the curse to themselves. So the act of cleansing of an undead is written to be forbidden, and the idea casted out. The focus returns to saving the innocence.

Shoi 173 Author Share Posted November 25, 2011 The pain is hard to explain. I can feel the magic becoming weaker at my fingertips. It's like breathing almost and I can feel it slowly suffocating from my veins. I fear I have granted the most serious crime of all ascended. I took what was not rightfully mine to take. Even though it was to save a life I cannot allow the transfer of the undead to continue. It runs along the lines of this place we call Aegis. For every action there will be a equal reaction... Or in this case a punishment... I am determined to teach Lennith and Arathyn proper magic before I lose what I am able to do. It's hurts again to summon magic at my fingertips. I relay heavily on the staff once again. Even with the staff... I cannot find the fire to cast even properly. Even if I am able to... I can feel the mark increase. I fear of it, I do not know of it's purpose but the pain it causes... Is so great, now it has seemed to appear on my arm overnight. It looks like a black serpent. I have these vivid dark dreams, I wake without breath occasionally. The nightmare do not grow any weaker as the nights and days draw on. Sleep escapes my grasp. I can feel each being I help, only drawing me possibly closer to a true death that I will be unable to escape. Even with the link of another the pain become more grave. I cannot live like this any longer. Thaelen's concern has me worried of my own life, what would become of my sons... I've already lost friends to the darkness once again. The ones whom help model me into this life under Aeriel. I fail them all eventually it seems. I do not understand what Aeriel wishes of me. I hate to sound selfish, but wouldn't their lives be better without my influence. Rilath, Lucas, Decora, Vardak, Zephyr, Timayame, Lennith, and Vulgrak. I cannot help but question my involvement in their lives. Would they have been happier or even stronger without me. Rilath could have had the power he craved... I see now what he was... And I failed him. I tried so hard to save Lucas from what he wished for most, now he alliances with them. Have I even failed him? Decora and Vardak... If I had not landed on their doorstep with child... Would the feel of the undead not have effected Vardak and took Decora away... Timayame... He always seems so sure of his actions... Yet he crumbles at them near me, am I destroying his life... Then my sweet child... I felt so sadden for his soul the most. I took it onto myself. To be returned to his body with the help of the others to recover his body. I know that was the day the mark appeared. Did I seal my own fate. When I took his security away from Brevias and Iblees grasp? I know the undead will not rest till we ascended are demoralized or worse... Dead. I took another soul, drawing it was harder then Lennith's... Did I take his chances at survival away from him? Then... take my own away in turn. I cannot save those who do not wished to be saved... I lived by those words for several others sakes, what if... I saved those whom should not have been. I fought so hard... -tears appear on the page- Only to lose. I cannot allow the undead to keep this fight against Aegis. They destroy homes and families. Take what is not theirs to take. And I see now that no one should take a soul from it's proper place. Not even the ascended.

Shoi 173 Author Share Posted December 25, 2011 I write with a heavy hand... Today was difficult with the death of whom I considered a father... Arcadius. I could see the pain in all their faces, the ascended and the people. It drew heavily on my heart. I noticed in my anger towards the undead I burned my palm when attacking the undead whom did such an act. I didn't have a chance to finish him off as he seemed to disappear. He just turned into smoke and ash. I hope I have dented his power and keep him down for Aegis to recover. I believe Blaedr has taken the loss even harder then myself. Which only made me more sadden to see his heart harden. May Arcadius rest in peace with Aeriel. I will not stop till the UAC and Aegis are united and we can seal the nether. Seeing these plans more clearly now. Arcadius was a massive loss, but I fear the worse has yet to come to us... -Editor's View- Exhaling she would turn hearing a knock. Arcadius entering to re-comfort her mind. Assuring her in this choice as she would only smile meekly and nod in agreement. He looked proud and happy. She knew he was only comforting her as she truely thought he was doing what he sought best for her. Selina arrived, brushing Arcadius out in a hurry. They giggled a little. She dressed and Selina helped style her hair, braiding Shoi's long white hair. Shoi's fingers fiddled over and over on another as she sighed nervously. Seeing the brides maid show up and giggle. She smiled as brightly as she could as they all slipped into the dressing room at the cathedral. She didn't quite like being so dressed up, the gown was somewhat heavy and constricting unlike her Preceptor robes the was light and shifted easily with her frame. She blushed as the Princess Indelwehn whom travels far from Malinor to be a braidesmaid brushing her lovely hair. She looked even more stunning then herself she could only think. The others were appointed for Chrisdena was off busy with the undead threat. She would never see what happened next. She almost clung close to Blaedr as he walked her down towards Arcadius's and Syrio's bright faces. Her eyes looking to each face before pausing before the alter. The grand church behind her. It seemed all so sudden, the final words leaving their lips. The vosic, echoing in the grand hall of the church made her look around swiftly, but in the wrong direction. She looked to Blaedr, seeing his face made her turn but a moment to late. Arcadius was nothing but ash. Her heart stopped at that moment, her body frozen. She looked frantically for the undead, her heart full of rage. She darted following the crackle of laughter which was the Overlord. Leading her outside, people looked all around them, but Shoi's eyes narrowed at the Undead figure. She could feel it in her core as she walked forth, her fingers bursting into flames. Her rage fueled her magic, as they fought against, but Shoi was more swift by her rage. Her fingers uncurled lashing out all of her energy and magic at once. Burning the undead so severely he retreated at once after calling all weak. Falling to her knees she only mocked him back, telling him how he had no idea how strong the people are of Aegis. Her vision blurred as he vanished back to the Nether. People were confused as Arcadius death, the scream of the undead, chaos mingled with them as Shoi only felt her frame lifted. Her vision returned in the keep of Alras. Seeing the ascended in the corner their mind-link filling her mind with grief and sorrow. Her eyes could not stop watching Blaedr as she bit back her tears. Telling the people the must remain strong and that the undead were slightly crippled for now. Peace would be needed to keep all strong and remove all undead.
