I will never forget the pain. I do not know what it was, but to see an undead hold a blade. So effortlessly, it even penetrated my torso like it was nothing. I could not even breathe the moment it touched me. My magic was completely stopped as well, like I lost all recollection on how to even cast a spell. This made me worry, the fact something so powerful was in that undead hands. Luckily Aleryn exhausted herself on my behalf to keep me alive. I still have no idea how she did it, everything is still a blur...

I awoke to hear the fall of Al'khazar. I was there I couldn't even protect Enor... Though he manage to escape with Felix. The ascended managed to help a druid in removing the haze long enough to help them safely out of the city. I fear the undead are plotting since they have been almost silent since the take over. Martin, Selina, and myself managed to complete the bits we had of the map and started working on what we hope to save the people of Aegis. To help guide them to a brighter future. But only time will tell if they will be willing to work with us and be saved. Or run from the undead forever. For this may end all the ascended hold dear.

Then I remember, as some of the people seem to grow to hate us. They forget, we were once mortal like them. With families, even some now have families. And this we wish to return to, but Aeriel picked us to help protect against something that only turns to smoke in their hands. Sometimes even are own hands. But true magic can hopefully hold them at bay, with Aeriel's gift I pray this.

Blood splattered on the floor. Shoi's pupils narrowed to a pin point as she stared up at the undead whoms blade ran through her mid torso. The mad chuckling escaping like black fog from his skull that bore no flesh. His tone was cold and crisp in the room as it fell suddenly colder. Red cracks running from his boned feet as the guards beat on the wooden gates with their blades. "Foolish ascended..." rattled his boned jaw as he pulled the blade back. Her frame dropped to her knee as she cletched at the wound. Enor somewhat lifted her up as he drew a blade at the undead. Words were tossed as Shoi's hearing grew blurred and shocked. Her hands would call no magic. Her mind nearly blank with confusion. The blade had drained her of magic. Her life force barely holding on as she felt her vision flicker. Green flames erupted twisted with silver as she fell back, and she was gone before she even hit the floor.

Awaking with a start. She saw her vision clearing, pain racing down her body. She saw the leaves shimmering above her. The small tree of life whispering softly in her ear as she looked down seeing herself and Aleryn in the pool around it. Wincing a little as Aleryn worked to heal her the best she could. She exhaled harshly as she looked around seeing many of the ascended murmuring the talk of Al'kazar's fall. Shoi rose careful of the would still healed, the bandages holding tight with the blood from her wound slowly fading into nothing in the pool she rose from. She was wordless as she could only listen. Unable to tell what had happened. She only spoke boldy they all needed to return to Alras and gather peace as Arcadius wished. They needed to work fast to reunite Aegis.

((Enjoying so far, but you may want to know you also took on my taint which I had accumulated from several wars alongside the undead and being in the nether 3 times all RPly which had made Lucas so weak he couldn't walk anymore. I'm sad to see that I did sort of help in weakening Shoi...awaiting more.))

Gordok recovery has been difficult. Blundermore's and Aleryn's efforts seem so fruitless against the burns. Their healing hardly does a thing to them. So I see they are properly cleaned and bathed, but his rambles... They were so confusing and hard to understand, but slowly we pieced together how the undead torchered him, burning him alive. We tried to soothe his burden, but it seemed he was only comforted by us being near him. He always seemed to force a smile when Syrio visited. He brought books and maps for him to look and read over. They seem to help greatly with his troubled mind... But I sadly do not think he will ever fully recover, his burns. They blister and bleed if not tended to.

I cannot recall when I last really felt the sun, it feels like we've been in these caves for decades... Gordoks words are more clear now, but his sentences still broken and gumbled. Though to see him walking with a cane is better, though he falters to much still to be left alone. I've also noticed Syrio's visit have been come less and less, I would think it's been several weeks since his last visit. No one will answer me when I inquire of his were about. I've become nervous, but I do not think I can leave Gordok's side till he has recovered enough, when ever I leave he seems to worsen.

-The walls seemed bleached, clean slated stone faced walls. Aleryn drops a box and sigh wiping her forhead with the back of her sleeve. She merely smiles as she places a hand on Shoi's shoulder. Gordok is engrossed in a large book, his fingers slowly following the words carefully reading them, sometimes pausing to think deeper on the matter of the sentence he just read. His hand raised to itch, but Shoi's soon after it and pulling it from his cheek. Her smile was weak as he glanced over with his hazed gaze before returning to the yellow like pages. Shoi looked up to Aleryn as she reached into the box pulling out vials of tonics, herbs, and powders. Large vases of fresh clean water.

The room felt so hollow with the lack of sounds, Aleryn would replace Shoi's seating place and examine the burns on Gordok's body, they seemed so stressed and red. Shaking her head she stared up at Shoi helplessly. Who only returned with an attempt at a comforting smile. She merely handed Aleryn a list of more supplies.-

"Hopefully soon..."

-Aleryn gave a flash of a smile that glimmered and shined with hope, as she always seemed to have, before skipping off. Shoi stood at the door watching the cheery girl. A small genuine smile crossed her lips. Slowly before fading as she looked at the intently reading Gordok. His fingers trembled as they ran along the pages. His body was still shattered it seemed. She placed her hand to her forhead recalling when Blundermore yelled for their assistance. They had ran over, during one of the battles they had inflitrated behind the undead to find Gordok. But what they found would only shock them.

Heavy metal chains were strained as he pulled at them, his skin was bleeding and burned to a crisp. Aleryn actually fell of her knees at the rim of the pit that the undead forced Gordok into. Hot coals under the metal grate he stood on burned and licked flames occasionally. The silence was so deafening in their ears that Gordok's screams were almost empty. His voice had been drained. Blundermore forced himself down to part the flames and even with his age broken the chains away with his staff. Aleryn and Shoi soon after to recover Gordok's fallen body. It was difficult not to harm him further due to his body being battered and burned. Blundermore covered the poor man with his robe as they found him without garments.

Shoi shook her head shaking her vision away. Only to find Gordok staring at her with a sad smile. She made her way over and sat down slowly next to him as he asked, "Sy-rio, visits when?" She bite her tongue unable to lie as she placed a hand on his clean shirted back and softly said, "I'm not sure, but I miss him too." Gordok blinked before returning to his book to distract his uneasy mind.-

We've searched everywhere. But Gordok has vanished. We cannot find him anywhere. I cannot imagine his fate. He is still not fully recovered. I woke and his bed was empty and books and documents scattered around the room. I am without breath. We search all his hiding spots, all empty. He is no where to be found. He was determined to find Syrio I think. I cannot fathom were he could be, or if he is even alive.

I don't know what to do. Lennith is ready do rid himself of these caves. We will soon leave I feel that to many memories are locked here. To hard to shake them...

-The days and nights smeared in the darkness. But it was morning, the air felt more crisp and dry. Shoi lightly stepped down the cold stone steps carrying a small candle. It rattled as it hit the floor, Shoi stared at a near destroyed room. Papers, books, and furniture were scattered about the room, the bed's sheet and pillows gone missing. Gordok had vanished.

Alerting Blundermore and Aleryn they searched all over. This wasn't the first time Gordok vanished, but it was the first his room was destroyed. They peered under the near by waterfall, the glade, and even on the hill tops. All his normal thinking spots bare. Tears threatened Shoi's eyes as they called the search off after weeks of looking. Lennith appeared, as always he seemed to know his mother better then herself. He settled on her bed as she sat at her desk writing. His gaze watched her before laying a book next to her writing hand. It was Gordok's young children's book. She looked over at Lennith whoms face was bright as always.

She recalled Gordok's struggle to relearn every aspect of life. She would wake at night finding his light on, peering into the room would be young Lennith kicking his feet as Gordok was reading to him. Sometimes even helping him with the words. Shoi would listen and smile in the door way. She loved seeing the little joys Lennith always seemed to bring to Gordok. It wasn't long before Lennith would being him bigger and better stories to listen to.

Her thin digits reached over, grasping the book by it's bind and opening it before herself. A note fell from it's pages and Lennith grabbed it, unfolding it excitedly. He read it outloud for Shoi as she stared at him softly. Shoi's eyes widened as Lennith carefully read each word out. He looked at Shoi after his eyes left the paper and back at her. Her turned the paper to her as she lightly took it gazing down at Gordok's cursive writing.

~'Dear Family,

You have seen I am gone. Please do not worry, or look for me. I owe you all my life but this is something I must do for myself. I may find you again one day. I want to thank you all in person but I know you would not let me go. Thank you for everything, it has always been an honor to be in your presence and lives.

Truely,

Gordok.

~

Lightly she stood and hugged Lennith, she held back her tears against his tunic. He was taller then her now in his young teens. He held her slightly, his tone was slightly deeper then when he was a child. 'Perhaps We should move on as well... The outside world is so much different now Mom. You've been down here far to long.' He smiled down at her, "Plus nothing can stop Grandpa Gordok! He is a sturdy ole man!"

Shoi couldn't help but crack a small smile as she stepped back and held his shoulders. Her eyes glittered up at his dark skinned face as she touched his cheek with a hand. 'You have grown so much since you were young Lennith. Lets go to the kitchen and I'll back you a cake.' His face brightened more as he skipped off toward the kitchen with his mother followed him, he would stop and turn, "Okay Cake Lady!"
