Deleted User 009 0 Share Posted December 2, 2011 EDIT: Ok, after much endless QQ I've removed the building requirements. Also fixed archery and combat bonuses; however they'll be SSO'd tomorrow. Also all haters please click Hey Aegis, Today I'm bringing you a (much delayed due to me being busy overhauling forums and site) S.S.O (Skill System Overhaul) to the first two skills in this little series. Basically I'll be having S.S.O's for every skill in our skill system over time, and will in most cases release two or three skill SSO's at a time. These SSO's are just large game changing updates I make to specific elements of the skill system that are brought on by ideas from the GM's, myself, and all of you. So without further a due, here are the change-logs for the Lumberjacking and Mining SSOs. Lumberjacking: You can now break logs with your fists, however you will take damage and can only gain sticks. Go outside and punch a tree down IRL, let me know if you can get a whole log.Level Required to use Stone Axe dropped to lvl 5.Level Required to use Iron Axe dropped to lvl 15.Level Required to use Diamond Axe dropped to lvl 25.Changed how log dropping event works; you now have a % chance of obtaining logs on harvesting the tree. The percent is determined by a simple formula of (level * 2 + axebonus); so after level 50 lumberjacking you'll have a 100% chance of obtaining logs, and also the side chance of 10% to obtain a double drop the higher your level, the higher your chance to get the double drop, and at level 100 you gain the extra bonus of possibly getting a tripple drop. "axebonus" is determined by whatever axe you're using; using a higher tiered axe has a higher chance of yielding more wood obviously.Changed how the lumberjacking EXP system works. EXP is now calculated based on the formula ((level * 2) + axebonus + break_bonus). break_bonus is a value determined by if you actual suceed in harvesting the material or not; axebonus is once again based on what tier axe your using. Please note that gold does give a much larger bonus than diamond.Lots of other misc. changes; more to come soon. Mining: Completely removed the pickaxe requirements to mine certain resources.Level Required to use Stone Pickaxe dropped to lvl 5.Level Required to use Iron Pickaxe dropped to lvl 15.Level Required to use Gold Pickaxe dropped to level 25.Level Required to use Diamond Pickaxe dropped to level 35.Changed how ore dropping event works much like lumberjacking; you can break any ore with the vanilla restrictions however you will have a % chance of actually receiving the resource based on the pickaxe being used and your mining level. So it's wise to have an experience miner gather your resources so you have a higher chance of actually obtaining them!Changed how the EXP system works much like lumberjacking; it's the same system, only it has an added element of ore type to determine the amount of EXP that should be applied.Lots of other misc. changes; more to come soon. General Changes: Changed amount of skill credits allocated on first join from 75 to 50.Changed the max level that non-premium skill credits can be used to from 50 to 30. These two changes were for balancing; they would have been the original values, but I felt bad about loosing the skil lbackup and wanted to give old players some kind of compensation.Changed automatic restart period from every 2 hours to every 4 hours.Fixed NPE crash error; or at least I think I have. Hasn't crashed from it in over 24 hours.More optimization.Fixed /delevelAdded a command (and soon a donation option) to convert your total level into skill credits to be redistributed however you want them to be!Pimped out forums for those who haven't seen it lately, you should check it out.Updated favicon on site, you may not see updated version for a few days due to browser caches. Seventh / Ryan 93 Share Posted December 2, 2011 All of the Iron Ore I try to mine with my Diamond pick turns out as nothing. Says I'm not experienced enough to mine it? *sighs* Good work, though.
Kaverato 0 Share Posted December 2, 2011 To make it more realistic, what about making it so when you cut the bottommost log, every log above it breaks?
Goldrim 1422 Share Posted December 2, 2011 Added mining level requirements to place objects like stone, cobblestone, iron blocks, gold blocks, diamond blocks, obsidian, glowstone, etc. (I may mirror some of these to blacksmithing later on as well; so you can have either level.) No thank you. But the rest is alright.
Samson Option 9652 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I would like to request that the requirements to place wooden/stone items dependent on Lumbering/Mining level is removed. I can move pieces of furniture in real life and am not a lumberjack, I am 6'5, but still aint a lumberjack  Other than that, thanks for the update Vaq :D
Mirtok 2853 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I would like to voice my displeasure with this update with the fact that I need 75 mining to place Glowstone, Not many people in Aegis would have level 75 in mining. With the addition of a few other blocks that I can no longer manipulate many objects I'm a little mifed with the whole thing. However most of this patch seems pretty solid but I do wish for the Glowstone level to be dropped severely.
