Hwaldar 132 Share Posted December 2, 2011 Now I can get a nice collection of Sticks. Guess it's time to either start robbing GM's of resources,or start making counterfeits.

Jorgen Reimer 74 Share Posted December 2, 2011 To be honest, i dont like the update. Your pretty much force people to just do one thing they can succeed in, that is fine if we got enough people to do all of the things, but that is precisely what we dont got. And why are we still encouraged to grind things? Reducing the credit limit just encourages it even more. And also with the drop rate, to be honest, if i mine a iron vein in real life, then i expect to actually get some iron. Atleast give us some greatly beneficial, than just give us 1 little thing (reduced level requirements) and take 3 things away form us (skill credit limit, drop rates, and requirements to place blocks (if that is still in effect)) Why not reduce the requirement to level up, increase exp rate or give us a higher skill level. Like 350. And perhaps can we have voice and be informed of planning things, before they are implemented, so we could ask for some changes we want? ♦ Kal ♦ 242 Share Posted December 2, 2011 Poor Vaq. Looks like you have to make a friggin poll every time you plan on making a change. Well...I personally like at idea of a architect skill. I even stated this before in some random thread, that complaint about, how the skill system ruins RP and just like the wise man Deltaro predicted, people would cry about it. The thing with the chance on getting or not getting ore is a tough one. It just moves the complains from "this is impossible to level up to" towards "I have a diamond tool and never get anything". I like it on lumberjacking. I think till now nobody really was a lumberjack, because there was no challenge in getting wood. But trees grow back naturally. Ores don't do that. Hmm... maybe you could implement something like a multiple chance of getting one ore. "You did not succeed in mining the ore", and if he fails to do so 3 times on the same ore in one server reset cycle you break his tool instead. This could be one way of preventing people from destroying all the ore and jet still let them a fair chance of getting some.
CloakandDagger 134 Share Posted December 2, 2011 +1 for Vaq Only things i have qualms with are... 1. The fact that archery does nothing-but you plan on fixing this i know 2. Everyone shouldnt be able to do everything, this includes people changing their skills to suit their need. A. Maybe a grace period could be set in place to where after you have allocated your skills you have X amount of time to change them before they are locked in place. 3. I agree with the need for builder class/skill - but i wouldnt want to see every player grinding/leveling it up, because it would defeat the purpose of the class/skill if everyone could build(build as in actual buildings, not just a little hut out in the wilderness)
Elindor 666 Share Posted December 2, 2011 A further query about converting total level into credits is the potential for basically free credits. You will need a precaution to make sure that players don't convert their skill level into credits and then earn the first 10 levels of a bunch of skills with exp before assigning their credits. This could very easily make a level 180 to be a level 230 within a day as those first 10 levels are so easy to advance. I'm also concerned about players leveling up skills that they have no use for in the knowledge that the credit can be dispersed differently later. Cooking is of no value to my character, but if standing in front of an oven while a stack of beef cooks can get me free 8 levels then why wouldn't I? I wouldn't because its dishonest and breaks RP, but not everyone is that reliable.
Dawn 55 Share Posted December 2, 2011 I am glad to see the requirements for placing blocks is gone. As Gaius stated, you do not need to be a lumberjack to move wooden furniture. I feel like the remaining requirements are fair, but I do not like that ores are destroyed when the attempt at gathering them fails. I had a miner working on gathering ores for me last night, and although his level is 50, he could gather nothing. Each attempt lead to the failure message and every ore he tried to mine was destroyed. Winterfell's mines are large enough, but at this rate, most of the valuable ores would soon be depleted with very little to show for it.

Dash_Rogers 130 Share Posted December 2, 2011 "Added a command (and soon a donation option) to convert your total level into skill credits to be redistributed however you want them to be!" ^Is this command available right now or will it become available when you have the donator strings attached? I just want to take the original 10 credits I put on cooking to something more useful.
