First of all, I would like to say that I'm the representative of Juvens, because he has sadly no time to fill it out. He personally asked me to fill out. Any credits for ideas, development, etcetera go to Juvens.

Thanks and enjoy the read,

~Lym

I highly recommend reading this to understand the purpose of the Myrcans.

TOWN CHARTER

MC Name: gustaf227

RP Name: Cyning_Skjalgr_Myrca

Town Name: Tumwarth

Why are you/your character starting this town? What role will it play?Tumwarth will be the town of the Myrcans, a barbaric/ viking/ nordic tribe who discovered the land some years before everyone else. ( before the humans, orcs, elves and dwarves) The Land of the Myrcans is claimed by the Realm of Hanseti but the Myrcans want to be free and fight against the Hanseti  to keep their freedom. They will maybe raid towns in the nearer surrounding.

What type of political system is enforced in this town? Is this town under the reign of any other nation at this time?

The Culture:

The Myrcans are viewed as fairly uncivilized compared to the humans of Oren. They speak a strange, gruff dialect of the Common Tongue unheard of elsewhere. Myrcans may come off a tad crude as a result of a life more modest and more harsh than most experience. The children begin work and training as soon as they are physically able. Emphasis is put towards hard work. Most Myrcans share giant homes called longhouses. These homes are capable of holding up to ten citizens. Myrcans are notoriously good seamen, masters of fishing and sailing due to their coastal location. The families are typically patriarchal, but any gender who fights and contributes to the nation is deserving of respect. Myrcans are very distrustful against all other races. The whole nation is a "Democratic Monarchy".

The next section is dedicated to:

The Heirarchy:

I'll sort it by importance. Highest to lowest.

King = Cyning

The King, called Cyning, is the head of the nation. He is the ruler of everything. But he has to orientate at the opinions of his Council and with that, at the opinion of the nation. He only approves the decisions, that are made.

Prince = Tywysog

He's the son of the King. He will be the new ruler when the king dies. Technically he is counted as a Council Member...but most of time he doesn't join the decisions, that are made.

Council Member = Ealdorman

The Council members are wise men, who make the decisions for the nation. They are not born into this, they get appointed by the actions they did and the decisions they made. Even the lowest Slave can be appointed as a Council member, but that happens rarely.

Marshall = Iarll

The Marshall of the kingdom. Highest warlord and considered as a Council Member. He has the right to vote. He leads the Men into war and works out the best tactics. He has the overview of the Army.

Lord = Tiarna

A Lord. One of the richest persons in the Kingdom. Most they have alot of influence, so they can directly talk to the king. A Lord is a Nobleman with a own Estate.

Warlord = Dryhten

The Warlord. Mostly a common Soldier, who shows that he is one of the Best. He normally leads smaller groups of soldiers and has influence to the Marshalls decisions.

Noble/Free Man = Arras

The Nobleman, or also simply counted as Free Man, are those, who have a medium amount of wealth, own a house, and don't have to serve anyone , they can choose what they want to do, these persons have a good variety of jobs aviable.

Guard = Gosgordd

The guards are simply those, who patrol the walls and man the gates. A few of them may be appointed as the personal Guards of the Council Members, the Prince, or even the King.

Veteran Warrior = Duguth

The Veteran Warriors shown their fighting skills during the battles and became feared fighters. These guys are the most experienced Soldiers in the nation's army.

Warrior = Gaisgidh

The Warriors are the main force. They go to war if needed and during peace, they patrol the lands to prevent crimes.

Archer = Saethydd

The Archers are those who use their bows, instead of their swords. Mostly Archers are considered less honorable then the real Fighters. They are rarely seen in the Myrcans.

Trainee = Geoguth

A Trainee is a fresh recruit, who will have to improve his fighting and show his worth during a battle.

Independend Man = Hearthweru

This is a special citizien, who has the right, to meet the King whenever he wants.

Farmer = Gebur

The backbone of everything. These guy supply the nation with food.

Independend Cottage Settler = Kotsetla

Mostly one of a different race, who gained the right, to live with the Myrcans. These persons, mostly own a house in or near a city.

Slave = Theow

The lowest of the lowest. These guys are captured Slaves or criminals who have to work off their crime. Mostly used by Lords.

There are three basic tiers of social classes: Upper Class, Free Men, and Slaves. One thing that is notable about Myrcan society is the importance designated to the typical Free Man and Councilor. Each of these independent men have the right to petition and speak to the King, so while the government is a monarchy, all may have their voice heard.

The Town of Tumwarth will be an independent village.

 What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.)

 The Myrcans should be Humans ( Northerner) but we also accept non humans but they have to life like we do they have to believe at what we do and they have to do what the king says like everyone else. They have to earn the trust of the king or other high person before they get the title Kotsetla. If they have the title they are still not that important.

Where would you prefer the town’s region be? Including a screenshot of the land would be nice (of game or map).

Turmwarth should be in a snowy region and near a river or sea which is not complete frozen so they could go fishing without destroying ice before.

Any other details (architecture, races, culture, etc):

The architecture will be nordic.

The main religion of Myrca can be thought of as a blend of shamanism and paganism. While many other nations converted to the a religion based on the Cloud Temple, Myrcan society was untouched by such ideas. Myrcans worship four dieties, possibly thought of as Aenguls, who they believe created and now rule Aegis.

Irbala:

A female diety; Protector of women and children, guardian of the home.

Tortuln

A male diety; God of war and labor. (A crowd favorite!)

Sabeta

Female diety; God of magic and mysticism; wise diety.

Aharga

Male diety; God of the heavens, moon, and sun.

There are strange correlations between the Common days of the week and the Four Dieties, but this is yet to be fully explained.The religious leader are shamanic figures called Sacrificulus. They proclaim the power to communicate with these dieties. Worship in Myrca usually involves some sort of loss or struggle, either by hard labor, animal sacrifices, or, when truly needed, slave sacrifices.

The realm of the death (Valhalla)

Valhalla is the realm of the death for the Myrcans. Valhalla is split  into two parts. The first part are the Halls of Valhalla. Only people who died in battles or kings come to this place. The second part are the fields of Valhalla. Everyone else will come here. In Valhalla, no matter in what part, you will meet your father and your mother. You will meet your brothers and sisters and the line of your people back to the beginning. The guard of Valhalla is Alab'gron a servant of the deities. He escorts you on the way to Valhalla and tells you where you have to go.

Some lore

The old History:

The humans of Myrca. Raiders from the border. An old and primal people usually overlooked but now resurfacing. Most citizens of Oren look upon the Myrcans as a rather barbaric bunch, but the ....

Long ago, when Oren was a mere babe still suckling, a small group of humans decided to branch off. Living in isolation from other cultures for hundreds of years, Myrca bloomed in distinction with a unique dialect, heirarchy, and religion. Due this isolation, the Myrcans also changed their appearance. They are a bit taller then the common human and also a bit stronger. The name Myrca was originally a family name of one of the Oren houses who were involved in the migration away. The Myrcans were initially an unruly group until united under a single king in 584. This king, King Peoda, was responsible for the political and social organization that is known today. He singlehandedly lead raids against neighboring towns and villages, amassing power and reputation as fierce fighters. The kingdom flourished under his rule and that of his successors, until...

When conducting a raid a tad too close to the boundaries of Oren in the early 900's, the current King of Oren grew angry about the persistence and insolence of these vikings. He sent out the entirety of Oren's army to raze the Myrcan towns and to crush their forces. And so it happened. Myrca was left with little more than a small village of citizens, and, content with his work, the King of Oren payed them no more attention. Ever since, the Myrcans have been rebuilding their once-great civilization. They have established a new capital by the name of Tumwarth. Growing stronger with each day passing, they wait 'til the time is ripe to begin raiding once more...

The new History:

The Myrcans noticed that the time for leaving Aegis is coming. They send out their best and most experienced sailors out to find a new place to live. For a long time no one heard anything about one of the ships but then one day sails appeared on the horizon. The sailors told the others about a untouched land. So the Myrcan shipbuilders started to build some ships to transport the people and things they need to live to this new land. A few months later they set sails. On the journey the old king became ill. He spoke a orison then he went into the halls of Valhalla. So his son Skjalgr became king. He lead the Myrcans to the new land. They used the wood of their boats to build houses. Because of that noone ever find any boats if the Myrcans. To dinify the old world and the old town they called the new town on the new continent like the last capital: Tumwarth. ...

They became a community that don't need others and that don't want to be ruled by others. Then one day a fisherman saw many large ships coming to their land. He hurries to come back to Tumwarth to tell the others what he had seen. Skjalgr said that they will fight against them if they want to take their land. They will defend their land with their lives. …

+1 :)

+1

Adds more RP. The Mycrans could be a large group of barbarians who are a threat to Elven villages and are normally hunted down by Orc war parties. It could BE the 5th race. +1 to it being a new race or subrace, race would be WAY better.

Have you read the Lore of the Myrcans? If yes you should know that they raid thier neighbour villages an that their civilisation was destroyed by the humans of oren. And now they are rebuilding their once great civilization.
