I have an idea for older towns and such! Say you're out in the wilds, and you find a town.. It looks like its still in use, due to torches and undamaged stuff.

But wouldn't it be cooler, if torches burnt out? and cobble turned mossy and cracked?? or maybe smooth stone could turn to cobble over time... and plots could dissapear over time if you don't stay in them, It'd make for much better adventures, THEN I would love to see abandoned towns, deserted and unlit, and free to loot or live in...

So I have a question regarding the transfer of donator plots. (Probably asked before but bear with me).

Is a donator plot any protected plot you own? Or is it the area you can protect as a donator? I ask because I own four (2 small, 1 med, 1 large) properties, but I'm also a gold donator who hasn't used his plot yet. And I'm curious as to whether that would translate over as a single large collective plot, multiple plots, or perhaps a plot whose size is specifically determined through my donator level, (so gold in my case).

I believe it only refers to "Donation plots" or Plots owed via donation perks, so for you it would be a gold level plot (though if I recall only diamond and bedrock get plots) and for me I would get a bedrock plot (yay)

I like this idea, this way it would take longer to get a city fully under control. +1

of course, to lose a city in one battle would be a catastrophe in my opinion, besides as we all know the fighting gets more and more desperate and guerrilla like the more you lose the city, It's hard to fully take over a whole city with out rebellions popping up (people making defensive attacks from uncaptured town plots against captured town plots. This method would also ensure that capital cities are not rushed and taken over within a day, people would have time to log on on a day off and join the fight against the people trying to occupy their city. I do believe though that a capital should be losable, losing your capital city would cause all sorts of fun, Join a random rebel band of your race, and start taking territories in the outer rim regions to amass a strike towards the heart land, maybe Fight from another your race controlled territory.

To better sum up, I think in order to "wipe" out a race, you would have to take EVERY territory they control, I think you should only be able to take regions connected to your own regions (to prevent attacks aimed at just major cities) As such this would make battles hard and more war like (think of all the effort, all the front lines and battles that could be waged across the map at once, every region would be as strategic as the next in a bid to push out more and more) With a system like that (only able to make assaults on regions bordering on ones you control) would make sure that if a race was to be "defeated" it would be a welled earned victory.

Of course we would never want a race to be fully "defeated" it would most likely be a setback, as I said, there could spring up rebel groups, should a race lose all it's territories there should be regions towards the outer rim that can be taken regardless (no need for a region you control to be connected to them) this gives any race that is "defeated" a chance to fight back, (maybe even make a new temporary town) I feel with a system like this, watch towers, guards, scouts, would play a huge role, people would feel more involved, every soldier would be needed and important, even just information brokers relaying troop movements would be a blessing.

This might be a bit complex and hard to do, but I feel it would be one of the more easier ideas to do (could be wrong) It might require a tight watch on events (via gms) to make sure things run smoothly, but I think that you'd see a better spread of races (what with being able to take pride in how much land your nation owns and such)

Anyways that's my 2+ cents.

@ casamir: it would be cool too if some govenor or lord decides to help the rebels against his own king!

This or there could be a group of trusted members/builders that could turn abandoned build areas into ruins in a tastefull manner. people could make a report or petition after a build has been left dormant for X amount of time etc.

Mebee even place some mob spawns here and there to make it even more fun.

Yeah I like the idea.. if a coder likes the idea enough, a plugin could be possible, although a build team would be cool :P

So will all guilds get their own kind've protected area? I'm assuming guilds in Aegis 2.0 will be more strictly regulated, so like if the DB managed to become an accepted guild, would they get a protected cave base in the middle of some woods? Or the Thieves Guild a protected sewer?

As many comments have stated above, this information will be given to you upon release so that players don't meta it to death

:ugeek:

Problem is players are already metagaming it. I have heard quite a few people ((We will be doing **Blah** but we are waiting for the new map to do so)) and pretty sure a lot of people are hoarding items and minas instead of purchasing property, items, etc.

And my big questions are how do you a) ensure that no race obtains more players == advantage in race wars for territory == goodbye all capitals and B) you don't end up with so many guilds, cults and religions that every "religion" consists of 3 people.

Otherwise looking forward to it, can't wait!!

I agree that guilds should be more regulated, also, not everyone is hoarding. Heck, I've been putting most of my time into building stuff, because my character doesn't know it's all going to be destroyed within a month or so. Also, technically, in game time it will be at least a year.
