Out-Of-Character:

Minecraft Account Name:

Fluffikin

Did you attend minecon and sign up at the LOTC booth?:

No, unfortunately I definitely did not have enough money for that trip.

How old are you?:

29

Time-Zone/Country of Residence:

Adelaide, Australia (GMT + 9.5 <+10.5 currently with daylight savings>)

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?:

Excellent, editing and writing for a number of reasons makes up a portion of my current work and I have done high level English both at high school and university.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself:

A lot of a geek, I am most at home with an iced coffee, something sweet to eat and a good game. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have a gorgeous little dog, which is all I need right now to be happy.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:

The amount would vary considerably from week to week. Anywhere from 1-25+

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you.:

I am an, embarrassingly, long time role-player. I played several of the white wolf table top RPG's in high school, GURPs, DnD and even LARP (Live action role-play). It means discarding your own motivations and drivers to put yourself in someone else’s shoes to create a story with others over time.

In your own Words, describe what Metagaming and Powergaming are.

Metagaming is using information obtained from the games mechanics, rules or out of character knowledge to provide an advantage to your character, often in a way which is also very out of character for them. Powergaming is ignoring the primary purpose of the game, creating a character and telling their story, in order to advance your characters money/skills/items at an artificially accelerated rate.

What do you expect this server will be like?:

I expect it will be an area where characters are forced to interact more than other servers, to create buildings which fit a theme rather than gaudy, unbelievable structures. I expect it is a server where playing a character well will see more people interacting with me as I make their roleplaying experience easier. I expect to be able to make a contribution to the enjoyment of the server, and that the people on the server will contribute to mine.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:

Only the one, creation nation. I want to participate on a server where there is motivations to interact with each other and to build something greater than one player can on their own.

Have you read, understood, and agree to the rules?:

I did, do and will.

How did you hear about us?:

Referral from another member of the previous server.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?

Yes, vote 2369

What is your The Lord Of Craft forum account name?:

Erdulan

In-Character:

Character Name:

Erdulan (Erd)

What is your Race?:

Human

Biography(This should include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Erdulan was born shortly to the north of Winterfell in a very small mining hamlet to well-meaning but over-doting parents. 4 men and one woman were the whole population of the small town who mined the snow covered mountains of the northern border to supply Winterfell with armour, weapons and tools.

During his second Malin's year Erd became very ill with a chest infection, he lay near death for many days and nights while his father and mother worried for him. He spent the next three Malin’s years and 8 Seasons recovering, only slowly rebuilding his endurance and stamina. During this time his mother was fiercely protective, barely letting him out the house and keeping close watch on him whenever he was. This fiercely protective attitude continued well into his 12th Malin’s year of age. He spent the time under his mother’s wing learning his letters from the one book they owned, a somewhat simplified novel on the tree life in the area.

At the age of 12 he was expected to join the men working the mine, as unproductive mouths were not looked on favourably in their hamlet. The work saw his lung capacity increase rapidly along with his strength until none would have known the trauma he suffered as a child.

He spent the next 14 Malin’s years working hard, discovering a deep well of desire to learn all he could of the skills in the hamlet. He learned the best way to efficiently cut a tree, leaving the leaves to fall to the ground as the season took them. He learned to mine well, how deep to go in order to find the most iron and, though they never mined them in their work, the even more precious gems that lay in the rock below those. More than anything though he became quite an adept novice at working the forges and smithing the scalding iron; he developed a reputation for being fearless with the hot metals.

Only 10 more Seasons passed happily however before an embarrassing moment occurred for Erd and his parents. A cave was struck during mining, long forgotten and filled with creatures undying and patient. Erd, despite his strength and reputation, dropped his pick and ran not stopping until he was in his mother's arms. One of the miners was seriously injured in the resulting fighting and none but his mother would speak with him for a long time, leaving him to work in silence. All blamed his long coddling when younger for his cowardice.

6 Seasons after this Erd's father was trapped as a seam of coal being mined gave way, crushing his father with the gravel resting above it. With his father no longer able to speak up for his son both mother and son were "asked" to leave. Erd's mother left to join her brother closer to Winterfell and Erd was gently encouraged to seek his new life, and a new confidence, in Al'Khazar.

Your characters ambitions:

To overcome his cowardice and reclaim his honour. To become a master smith and own his own house. To one day hold a diamond, worked out of the ground by his own sweat.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Hide, offer support for the elf after the battle should he win. Run should he not.

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

"I am fine good storemaster, nothing but the sun, the air and the sweat of my brow is what I need today! Hmmm, I may perhaps be helped by taking one of those aromatic bread loaves however, should the price meet what's in my pockets!"
