Vardak's Rise

Vardak walks the paths of Striqaephoth, his hood down and eyes, purple and red looking across the mortal planes of Aegis. His skeleton, now brittle and frail from the use of magic, was slowly weakening himself, he felt it... he knew he needed to escape the shell, to release his full potential. That much like Ar'kelos was the chain that held down Vardak's mentality from breaking fully. His skeleton was a mortal chain that bound his magic from growing, from getting more powerful.

He stepped inside the portal, his soul returning to the Nether. He went in solitude, to try to find assistance in any way possible. He took to the Nexus in haste, his brittle body not even allowing him to run anymore. He was sluggish, slow and weak in this form, and Unknown to Vardak, a watchful eye saw him enter his realm in his form.

Vardak slowly walked the stairs up to the nexus, his eyes dulling instead of glowing as he looked at the throne, looking for something, he was unable to walk at this point. As he closed his eyes, he saw it, the watchful eye... The person responsible for Vardak's turning... Scales black as obsidian, glowing softly from the scathing heat that surrounded him. Terrible fangs and jagged horns adorned his head, Vardak still in the nexus... his eyes "closed" looked at Iblees without fear, without hesitation. Vardak spoke, his words echoing the Nexus.

"The North... It is yours..." Vardak spoke in a weakened voice, the bones on his body cracking slightly.

Iblees spoke in a terrifying, demonic voice "Vardak... Your conquest and victory in the north has me one step closer to entering the realm I claim as mine... Your corruption and ability to kill without hesitation has shown me I did not make a mistake in turning you. Beseech me your request, and I shall make it so."

Vardak's eyes went "dead" as he said the words "Rid me of my bones, this mortal shell that binds me from corrupting Aegis as a whole." His eyes gained a bit of a glow as he regained a bit of strength.

Iblees then spoke once more "Open your eyes, and slip into the void... I shall make it so..."

Vardak opened his eyes, and he saw it, a small Vortex, black and silver spinning around as he drew closer to it. When he got right up to it, his body was sucked into the Void.

Vardak gazed at Iblees unable to speak, he just stood there as Iblees gazed back, and the Fallen Lord said "The final chain that binds you from becoming what I need you to be shall be removed, you shall be my Herald of Corruption, and you will no longer go under the name of Vardak!" Vardak nodded, his body locked into place as Iblees opened his massive mouth, flames bellowing out.

"I shall now take from you the last binding, embrace my flames, and your soul shall not be harmed."

Iblees poured fire over Vardak's body, his robes burning away as his mortal shell cracked and incinerated under the intense heat. His soul, was quickly plucked from harm by Iblees, as he gazed at it.

“Your name will no longer be Vardak... A person as dark as the skin you once wore shall seek a name of an equal amount.” Iblees roared “You will now be known as Zu’kro, my prized corrupter and one of my most loyal!” The Fallen Lord took Zu’kro’s soul, and opened a small Vortex back into the Nether. “You shall be useful in the time to come, I can see it now. I have bound you to your robes, your body will not falter, and your magic will excel in time. I will be watching, do not fail me or face my unending wrath” Iblees took Zu’kro, and threw him back into the Nether, the Vortex closing shut as soon as Zu’kro left the void.

What seemed like an eternity in the void was mere seconds in the nether. Zu’kro crashed into the walls of the Nexus, unable to feel the pain he slowly raised himself. His voice, a dark twisted version of himself spoke “I feel... Empowered...” Zu’kro could feel it, his eyes which once glowed red and purple now glowed a solitary darker purple. His body under his robes were pure coalesced shadows, his soul bound to the robes to which he was given on his turning.

He did not walk, he ran out of the nexus without noticing it, all the energy that was stored up from years of being chained to his mortal body had been let loose. He quickly found himself into the portal chamber room, taking the one to Striqaephoth. With two staffs in his hand, he let out another primal roar, this one much more louder and much more powerful then the first roar he unleashed from being turned. He waved his hands in the air, and a dark cloud was summoned. He pointed his staff south as the cloud went, as it left Striqaephoth Zu’kro raised his staffs in the air. Slamming the staffs with tremendous force as an uncountable amount of lightning ravaged the land, leaving the area scarred and charred.

Zu’kro laughed madly, he realised what Iblees had granted him, what he must do now... and walked back slowly into the nether, the scene of destruction behind him as he walked away.

“The final hour... Is at hand...”

Elindor is tending a small farm just North of Striqaephoth. He hears the giant roar, so close to his location. He looks towards the floating city, now it became clear what had brought him here to begin with, why he had remained isolated in the North for so long.

Vardak's final change. No longer would Vardak recognise him, and the wind that had called Elindor here wanted him to hear it.

He returns to the small shack and begins gathering his things for the journey home.

((By the way, this is mainly to explain how Vardak no longer has a mortal body, and a new name. There is no other RP extension to this and he has no more power then anyone else. In no way am all powerful or all mighty.))

((Vardak, kill of a few characters - impress Iblees.

Cataris ruins entire lives and relationships through mind play, brings the Whispering Order and Isles to their Knees and destroys the Sister City - No one is impressed.

lol :P couldn't help myself))

I did not say that he was impressed. But that Iblees knows he didn't make a mistake in turning Vardak, and a simple request wouldn't be too much to ask for.

As Tylos is on gate duty in Galahar, he hears a boom so loud that it shakes all of Galahar. He falls to the ground and hits his head against a hard rock, knocking him out. He has a nightmare where he is in a place that looks like the Nether but is not. He wanders around and realises it's Aegis. He sees a crumpled map and picks it up. It shows Aegis but with every city, town and village crossed out and with a giant obsidian fort in the centre. He suddenly hears a roar coming from nothing ((Vardak's bodiless soul)) while a bolt of lightning hits him and he wakes up, back in Galahar.

Sat quietly in his home with his crown down by his eyes and his pipe in his mouth, smoking flowing freely through the air. He slid down a bit as he heard the roar in the distance- furrowing his brows.

"Seems I never have too few people to stab."

Pulled up his crown and grabbed his sword from one side and slid an axe onto the other side, walking outside of his home.
