Tribute Log Book

Uzggoth Lud'Gorkil lumbers up to the barracks of the Krughai in inner Sanjezal. In the meeting room he places a heavy-bound book upon the scarred up table, along with some crude writing materials. The book is mangled and crusted with dried blood, but its pages are blank and fit enough for writing. The gnarled cover bears a single word, "Tribute". He sneers absent-mindedly and then shrugs, content, locking the room up for access only to those who actively serve the War Nation.

Slogging down to the gates of Sanjezal, he stabs a message onto the noticeboard with a hunting knife, scribbled onto the leathery hide of a zombie pigman. It reads:

Me am keeping book of tribute dat be taken and denied in Krugmar. It be in da meeting room of da barracks. If latz demand tribute and it be given, dose dat can write, write into da book. If latz demand tribute and dis tribute be denied, when latz am finished flatting da skah out of dem, write der name in da book and what was denied. Here am how me want it recorded:

Uruk Officers and Warriors Present:

Trespassers:

Location:

Reason for being in Krugmar:

Tribute Demanded:

Tribute Given:

End Result:

Notes:

Latz nub need to always write dese tings down, but when latz have da time to record it, do it. It maybe help da War Nation in da long run to see who be coming and going and who be paying tribute and who be nub paying tribute. It also help to see who be doing der job in collecting tribute da right way. Remember, if dey pay tribute, latz better honor latz word wit dem and da War Nation. And if dey nub pay tribute, latz better honor dey guts on da floor full of maggots and sand. Gur hur. Da collection of tribute for da War Nation be an honor for da uruk. Nub forget dis. Da uruk will nub be lumped in wit da weak bandits dat hide in da shadows and stab in back. Dis be our lands and we am taking it back! Glazug Votar!

A separate, smaller hide of a zombie piglet has been stabbed into the noticeboard with a smaller hunting knife. It bears more barely legible writing:

Make sure latz know and understand da laws and rules of trespass and tribute: http://www.lordofthecraft.net/forum/index.php?/topic/34097-the-second-army-reforms/

He steps back and admires the notices briefly, scratching himself and thinking of porkchops as he heads out into wilderness once more.

((Just make sure that no one uses this information OOC. Also ensure that if you're recording information, you've gained it legitimately. If you get killed, there should be nothing to record. If you don't get a character's name through conversation, or are missing other information, simply don't include it in the report. This is just an idea I had to record interesting transactions, don't let it become a chore.))

((Minimum tribute is 200 minas or 20 food or some armor. These are really just guidelines though. Use your best judgment based on how wealthy/indignant the character is that you're dealing with, and also let the role-play sort've flow and just sorta go with what seems like an enjoyable amount at the time.

I was with Pok the other day and we shook some poor squire down for a single diamond, which he claimed was his family fortune, so yeah, that was a good day.

Just make sure you're making it as enjoyable for the other player as you can. Try to avoid, "Tribute or flat" shenanigans, unless they're just dullards and leave you no choice.))
