*Is curious why this forum is still going on, we have been in Asulon for 10 years now and people still call the currency minas.... I don't see how it would suddenly change names unless the mina suddenly lost all value. Which considering it is a "world wide" currency is unlikely to happen.

Gold coins.

After reading this an Idea struck me, Why not have monsters start dropping gold nuggets and no minas anymore. Players would be forced to either safely stow away there valuables, invest them in a player made bank in a city, or loss them upon death. It would add a fascinating RP element to the game, make it impossible for "bad villain" to use the /money playername command to determine how much they can swindle you for. Nuggets weren't available when minas were first established, and if every player was given a market value of nuggets for the mina's they currently own it would balance it self over time, trading nuggets for goods and services.

Just a thought, tell me what you think. I see it as either this or stick with mina's and the problems we have therein.

someone posted an idea like this and I would love to support it as well. I think they posted using all the ores as increments of currency with Lapis being like a 100 dollar bill.

That is an interesting idea as well. although it would be more complicated, now that we have nuggets just using gold would work I would think, you'd have nuggets, bars and block. If you needed a lesser currency you could use lapris for change, As it is currently each nugget is worth slightly more than 20minas. We would have a little inflation while prices adjust, but I think it would work out in the end.

The natives have their currency. Aegeans have their currency. Its apparent that if we are to trade with them, it wont be money. Aegean currency has no value to the Mori.

I support Embers, but I think a dual currency plugin should be created.

Per se, 1 Ember=100 Minas. It should be harder to obtain materials from the Mori, but not impossible.
