My Travels to Ravenhold

I decided to share this journal with you because of the extraordinary events that happened to me on my travels to and from Ravenhold.

Day; 1

Today was a truly un-eventful day. I left Laurelin in the soft morning hours, hoping to make good time to the grand city of Ravenhold. I had never been there and I was excited to see this far off Elven city. It was a long and tiring day and, after much walking, I finally reached the city at night fall. I am writing to you now under a tree, for as I entered the grand city, rain began to fall.

Day; 2

The rain has stopped and I spent most of the day exploring the city. It was a marvelous city with very expensive housing I should say.

Day; 3

After having a look around, I decided to head back to the my home city of Laurelin. When first going on the road to Ravenhold, near the minecart tracks, I noticed off the road was a structure that looked like a church of sorts. It was a three story rectangular building with two spires on the ends. Upon returning from Ravenhold, I noticed this structure again, only this time there were people there. Only they were had pick axes and were destroying one of the spires. At first I thought it was construction and decided to have a closer look. Oh, what a fool I was. Upon getting closer I discovered that it was in fact Orcs that were destroying the structure. Upon shouting a greeting the nearest one looked down and shouted in a most unintelligent way, "Human!" Now I would have stop to argue with him that I was, in fact, an elf when he drew his axe and, with surprising strength, jumped down from the third story and came after me, his other Orc companion right behind. Drawing my sword I fled down the road, before I was attack from behind by the Orc.

Day 4;

I wake up in the Cloud Temple with Monks over me. They say they found me unconscious on the road, badly beaten and robbed. I thank them repeatedly for their kindness, but in my heart I have a growing rage for the Orcs who did this to me.

Day 5;

After recovering most of my strength, the monks sent me on my way. Such great people. Returning to Laurelin, I went in search of the High Prince Swift to inform him of what had happened. Not finding him I decided to go investigate on my own. My second mistake that week. The journey was relatively swift. It was dark by the time I reached the now partially destroyed structure. Seeking shelter inside, I found that the wall facing the entrance way was greatly destroyed. Unintelligent Orc graffiti was everywhere on the building. Several windows had been smashed. The Orcs, however, were no where to be seen.

Day; 6

After fully searching the now partially destroyed structure, I decided to head back to Laurelin. In need of wood, I began to cut down a near by tree. When I fell the tree, I was surprised to discover a large under ground chamber. It appeared to be a large room, which might have been used to mine dirt at one time. I was busy exploring it when, without any warning, another Orc fell from the ceiling and hit me on my head. Filled with raged, I quickly dispatched him with my pick axe. Still gazing at the body yet another Orc fell! This one knock me to the ground. The last thing I remember is looking back up at the ceiling where there was a hole, and two more Orcs were peering in.

Day; 7

Again the Monks come to my rescue. They tell me of a miner who found the Orc's and my body while searching for ore. The miner brought me to the temple, where the Monks quickly gave me medical aid.

Day; 8

Returning to Laurelin I went in a desperate search of The High Prince to no avail. Finding a local elf instead, I told him of my story. He said he would inform the path finders, although I believe the Orcs are long gone by now. I write this in case these Orcs are every caught, in which case I and this document can be used as a first hand account to prove their guilt.

It is quite alright my Prince. You can't be everywhere at once! My stay in Ravenhold was quite grand. Such a glorious city!
