Broski 54 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Hm, Intresting I tell you, but yet, I don't know about Kal'Dwain, but we could possibly re-do the whole place. Ill remain neutral.
Broski 54 Share Posted February 29, 2012 We basically NEED to re-unite, I was talking to CountJuno88 and he came up with an idea to COMPLETELY start over. We would rebuild the Dwarven Capital in a new location preferably closer to spawn to increase traffic. The city would be smaller so there wouldn't be one Dwarf every 100 blocks and we would be closer and more rp would be achievable. I think this would benefit us GREATLY as a race. Closer, easier to defend, more RP, better in general, the Dwarves as he stated need to get back to our roots, in their halls clanking their mugs and hammering on their anvils. It would be nice to have, in my opinion, one hall, moderate in size with pillars similar to the old inner-Kalurguan, with housing, shopping, thrones/meeting rooms, guild houses and all, all together, then, as we NEED more room expand, we started huge and had nowhere near enough players to fill it and that was the major flaw of Karik. This is a chance to start over and he hinted at the fact we would have GM help so we could probably achieve this in a quick amount of time. I agree to this and creating a new city and not at Kal'Dwain seeing as there is no problem having a Hold.
Snake Plissken 637 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Three things I think must be done to get the dwarves back up and running: 1. Abandoned all dwarvern city's/towns and come together to make a new dwarvern capital. 2. Restrict dwarves to the capital and outcast anyone who leaves (unless they have VERY good reason). I understand it may seem a bit drastic to spconstict an entire apace to one area, but from what I'm seeing there arent even many dwarves around and it is necessary to keep ICUs together so we can regrow ourselves into the grand nation we once were. 3. Design the new dwarvern city so that it has a large central area, making it easy to find other dwarves to RP with. As a suggestion for Karik and any other dwarvern towns, once abandoned we could leave them as ruins and possibly make them dungeons.
troopermatthew 66 Share Posted February 29, 2012 What about connecting the cities abit more with the suggested railway system? I can donate over 500 rails to the cause.
Blundermore 2741 Share Posted February 29, 2012 How about you take this idea into account for building a new dwarf city: Mines of Moria. Eh? EH?
Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted February 29, 2012 One of the other things we discussed is that you wouldn't have to lose Karik. You could transform it into more of a sacred hall of the Dwarven ancestors. Would be almost like a place where Dwarves could go on pilgrimage, as a right of passage, or to seek wisdom from Urguan and the great Dwarves of old. Or to craft a golem. Blundermore 2741 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I just think that the dome Idea you are going for is too much like the old dwarven city in aegis. You should probably try and do something new but maybe not just a large bridge with stuff coming off on either side like Karik. If you do something like the halls of dwellodath from LOTR that would be utterly amazing. (it was the large room with thousands of pillars)
Religious_Pie 127 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I'll help with the plans for the city! I'll start whipping up some things in SP, and see what people think. Expect a map download soon. Of course, it's just a suggestion.
no longer active 734 Share Posted February 29, 2012 I think hat this is the best idea to keep our race thriving.
Arbrek the Ancient 140 Share Posted February 29, 2012 Or to craft a golem. The Geat Anvil would be moved, even if I had to drag it myself!
