Regarding The Dwarven Religion And A "guild" Idea

Karvia is dissatisfied with how the gods are treated by the other races. She's taken it upon herself as a personal mission to preach their existence to the world of Asulon. Slowly she'll grow bitter as she the crowds mock her heartfelt love for the gods and lash out with violence and forced conversion via torturing. Spanish Inquisition? Dwarven Inquisition. I am expecting to see a negative response among some Dwarves as well as an eagerness to "preach and convert" among others.

I too agree about needing to implement the new religion in a better way. Also having crusades sounds like fun, but I am too not so sure it sounds so dwarven, so I am going to stay neutral there.

The religion should in any case be implemented better. I would even recommend having a few events arranged by the GMs so we dont just start the religion out of nowhere, but say having something like Jesus. A God coming down and slaying the dragon to free the dwarves still trapped in our old city, or someone doing miracles or someone providing us with some knowledge; these kind of things.

The religion IS implemented. The Frostbeards use references to Dunngrim all the time. The fact that you choose to not value one of the gods that has been laid out for you is your problem.

Having a savior god come down simply doesn't make ANY sense. They would want dwarves who are strong in their principles, they wouldn't aid dwarves who are potentially weak. If you pay attention to the religious lore we had then you would realize that most of this doesn't make any sense.

I understand the zealot part, in fact that makes much more sense to me. But when I see people complain about the religion now -_-. It's all there for you to RP with, quit trying to be spoon-fed events and make your own RP with what Tyrion gave you.

An interesting idea, while I can see the potential to improve the roleplay surrounding the Dwarven religion with this, I just can't imagine the Dwarves fighting a religious war, or at least with the current state of Dwarven roleplay. This would probably require some form of event which will sway the Dwarves towards becoming more attached to their religion. After that, it would make far more sense for some Dwarves to become more active in worshiping their deities, possibly bringing forth some of the more extreme groups such as what you're suggesting.

In the past, Dwarves largely worshiped Aeriel and the Ascended, until the incident with Alras, in which many Dwarves turned away from Aeriel which is what ultimately brought up the idea of developing a new Dwarven religion. Like Ined said, you don't want the religion to simply appear out of nowhere as it makes little sense in RP. I think a player/GM planned event could definately work if done correctly.

My idea behind this "event/order" is to create racial and religious tension as well as bring the Dwarven faith into "light". It's fallen to the wayside and I believe something like this could open up everyone's eyes. What would you do if two of your brothers joined an order of zealots who will forcibly convert or punish those who choose not to believe in the Brathmordakin? Would you oppose their actions? Join in, even? I want people to take sides and flesh out the religion more. It's all here, waiting to be used. It's just that (most) of us aren't doing anything with it.
