Regarding The Dwarven Religion And A "guild" Idea

Auvreaeath made an interesting post on my app team application, the gist of it talking about my "rebellions". It really inspired to attempt a new "Purge", this one being a religious sort of uprising. I want to focus on the Dwarven religion which has pretty much fallen to the wayside; I haven't heard anyone mention it IC yet.

I made this post basically asking who would be interested in a sort of Dwarven "inquisition"? I plan to RP a few days of preaching and attempting to convert before I make any big decisions but I wanted to know if there'd be any support for this. Hopefully we'd see a lot of torturing, interrogation, and forced conversion/death of heretics, at least that's what I have in mind. There'd be quite a bit of political and religious tension throughout Asulon, maybe a bit of raiding in the name of the Brathmordakin.

Lemme know what you think, comments are highly appreciated (even if you're NOT a dwarf!).

Well, the Promethean Cult worships the Dwarven Gods, primarily Yemekar, but some of our Order worship all of them. Arbrek would gladly do an inquisition type thing for both the Cult, and the Dwarven Religion.

Just to point out, Tyrion (itechify) is our current Arch-bishop but it is a good idea in my opinion, one thing I know is that Dwarves like to just have like, "Pray to Urguan, ways to pray to him are: ..." things like those, really simplefied..

I like us as the zealots part, we could be an insane radical sect of the Dwarven Church.

This group should be viewed as religious fanatic/extremists. Think of the Catholic church and the Spanish Inquisition.

Hmm, I always mention Dunnmer in my sayings. I do like this idea, but dwarves... I'm sorry I just can't see the dwarves fighting eachother for something so, pardon my bluntness, stupid. Clan wars for power and prosperity sure! But religion is more of a human, elf, maybe Orc? Thing. The religion I pay attention to with Dunnmer and Yemeker basically says that the gods only want those that practice their principles, then they buy their souls when the dwarves reach the moon. The dwarven gods don't seem too concerned with mortal happenings, like dwarves, they just do their own little thing and take whoever practices the same thing.

Just my two cents on the reasoning behind this inquisition.

Fight each other? I believe we would be primarily fighting other nations. Perhaps get started with this after the religion has gained a firm standing within our nation and has a few monks who are willing to aid in the spreading of the one "true" religion?

We wouldn't be fighting Dwarves. We would be trying to spread the religion to other nations through force or words.

Since when have dwarves been like the Teutons or the Templars? I always felt that the dwarves religion was like that of the ancient Norse. The religion is there and their culture is heavily molded by their beliefs. But they don't go killing everyone because they don't worship Odin. They fight FOR their gods not BECAUSE of their gods.

I just don't understand why the dwarves in terms of lore and culture would set out on a crusade.

In every religion there is the zealot. Not all Dwarves would do this just Ever and her band of zealots.
