Ned Lud 1260 Share Posted March 21, 2012 I now have access to the Wiki, to include the following pages and the ability to create new pages: Orcs Krugmar The War Uzg Strigzgoi The Shamans Jabbernack Scaddernack War Boar Gijaklul A lot of content needs to be added and much of our current content needs to be organized, edited and improved upon. I'll be working on this when I have the time. I just want to give all of you the heads up. Use this thread to request content additions and to address changes that need to be made, also to submit anything you'd like to add to it, with links to relevant content. If any other trustworthy members or lore-keepers of the orcs would be interested in gaining access, PM me and I'll refer you to the appropriate authority on the matter. Thanks. Dretus 14 Share Posted March 21, 2012 will you be adding Wargs?
Jutra 51 Share Posted March 21, 2012 I'm thinking something about us trading and not using shinines amoungst ourselves - that sort of thing would prove important to new and returning orcs.
Ned Lud 1260 Author Share Posted March 21, 2012 I'll be adding Wargs, along with most of the orcish beastiary. I added them a while back but the page was deleted, probably because I had not written any content yet. As far as not using minas, communal trading and other snippets of info, I'll fit that in somewhere, just let me know the details of the system you're thinking of. I want to make the pages for the War Uzg and Strigzgoi be a lot more detailed and have information on the economy and goods produced, things like that, so I can easily fit that in. Jutra 51 Share Posted March 21, 2012 I'm saying that the war uzg works as a commune sort of society where the nation gives out "free items" like repairs or food but it expects every orc to give back to the war uzg the best way that orc can - be it ore, building blocks, items like bones and raw meat, wood etc.
Ned Lud 1260 Author Share Posted March 21, 2012 I'll be sure to include our communal system in the economic section. What I'm doing right now is pretty much looking at the real-life Wikipedia to see how the pages of real-life nations have been laid out. I'm using that to create the frame-work for how our information is organized and then converting it to orcish. So the end result of this should be an awesome collection of information that includes every nit-picky detail of the orcish race. It'll probably also inspire and refine information that we were previously lacking. I'll be trying to preserve what others have already written, but it really needs an overhaul like this because there is a lot of information just slapped and crammed together and most of the original authors don't even play anymore. The goal is to have everything relevant to the orc race available and easy to locate on the wiki, so instead of digging through the forums or referring to links or stickies, players new and old just have to browse the Wiki and it's all there, easy to find. Jutra 51 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Well - if you want stuff written up - We can put it in goggle docs and work from there if you like - that way you can then add the final product formatted the way you want in the spot you want etc.
Ned Lud 1260 Author Share Posted March 21, 2012 Well - if you want stuff written up - We can put it in goggle docs and work from there if you like - that way you can then add the final product formatted the way you want in the spot you want etc. That would actually help a lot. I'm just not that familiar with Google Docs, other than following the link and adding a few sentences. I'll get with you sometime on TS to coordinate that, as I'd also like to get the rest of our writers involved in developing the Wiki. My evenings have been hell lately dealing with a few real-life issues, so it may be another week or so before I'm online late again. Keep it in mind though and we'll collaborate on this. Thanks. The new wiki is really small and awkward to edit, so this would help a ton.

Only Ugluk and Lur have some lore, and to my knowledge I believe Lur has more, just that most of it hasn't been written yet. * nudge nudge wink wink* In all honesty though, clans should have extensive lore behind them. Lexperiments 18 Share Posted March 21, 2012 What are you going to do for Shamanism? From what I've seen, each shaman has a (slightly) different lore system, and all for different parts of Shamanism (Blawharag covers the Major Spirits, Mogroka covers the Spirit World & The "Emotion" Elementals, Nel'Thok seems to be specialized in Earth, Fire, Water, and Air, Brevias seems to cover the elementals in general, and I focus on the more specialized elementals.) I don't think there's much Ancestor lore, really..
GavinTheViking 151 Share Posted March 21, 2012 Should add a "Clans" page.
_pok_ 1768 Share Posted March 21, 2012 I believe there should be a clan page as well with subsections for each clan as well as the clan war. I have a considerable amount of Lore on the forums and I'd be happy to write more. I'm sure you could dig those posts up and if you can't I get them for you. Sultan 3953 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Lex your quite wrong, Blawharag is considered with Ancestors I deal with Spirits. Also what the **** happened to our wiki page?
Ned Lud 1260 Author Share Posted April 2, 2012 What are you going to do for Shamanism? I don't think there's much Ancestor lore, really.. Shamanism on the Wiki really needs to be better developed to incorporate all of our various lore. Maybe each of you could write up some solid lore on your various fields: Mogroka: Spirit World, Scrolls of Or'Gok, Greater and Lesser Spirits, plus a plethora of other things. Blawharag: Ancestors, Quiet Storm and all that. Nel'Thok, Brevias and Lex: Elemental. My focus is likely going to steer more towards healing, herbalism, exorcisms, curse-breaking, spiritual cleansings, life and death and things of that nature, since it's a base that's not really focused on by others. I've still barely scratched the surface of all of this, but hope to get more into it the further I get into shamanism. And yeah, we definitely need clan pages. A few of you have perms now. I'll be working on the Gorkil clan page at some point. Just been distracted with other things.
