SDJFDSJNFDSLKJVNDFBN 315 Share Posted March 28, 2012 The Seventis Military is an organized and well trained force that was created for the sole purpose of defending the lands of Seventis and her mighty citizens. The soldiers will be well trained and well equipped, along with a generous salary. Ranks (Arrows represent the change in command) (First three ranks are equal in line of command) Frouros: The heavy infantry units, they fight in close formation. The Frouros translates to Sentinel in Archaic Language, and they fulfill their meaning in the way they fight. They stick together and march in a Phalanx, or a square mass of troops. They are defensive in the way that they form the front line but are also offensive in the fact that they can all strike as one in a sense. These are the most common soldiers and are the backbone of the military. Peltast: The skirmisher units, they would carry axes/swords and bows used to disrupt the enemy. Peltasts threw everything and anything they had at the enemy. They use a hit and run tactic, hitting and dealing damage before retreating to the Seventis front lines. The Peltasts try to scatter the enemy and stagger them before the heavy Seventis infantry moves in and finishes the job. Toxotes: The dedicated archers with a marksman's aim. The Toxotes would cover the heavy infantry from the flanks and barrage the enemy with a volley of arrows. The main tactic of the Toxotes is to keep constant pressure on the opposing force and cover the heavy units. They would carry a sword/axe in case the enemy neared them so that they could stop them from encircling the main infantry. | | V Taxiarch: Experienced soldiers and hardened warriors, they serve as sergeants to help coordinate the soldiers. The Taxiarch receives increased pay and respect from the army. They aid the Phourarchs in command. | | V Phourarch: The field commander, they are a step up from the Taxiarchs and help issue orders to the army. They aid the Chiliarchs in their duties. | | V Chiliarch: The General rank, they command a garrison in either a fort or city. The Chiliarchs are responsible for taking high command in the absence of the Strategos and are an important aspect in the managing of the military. | | V Strategos: The highest and most honorable rank, the Strategos leads the army to victory. He is in charge of maintaining the military and overseeing its success. The Strategos is followed with loyalty and pride. Other The Companions: Similar to the Protactes rank, the Companions will be the squad made up of the King's best friends and strongest soldiers. The Companions personally protect the King and serve as his elite. They will have the same tier of command as the Phourarchs. The only way to join this is to be invited by the King himself. Asking to join and/or complaining about not being accepted will not be tolerated. Pay Seventis is the only Human Kingdom to pay it's soldiers and the King does this out of respect and praise to his loyal soldiers. The wages are also considerably high with the fact in mind that an entire army must be paid with these funds, so the total will normally come to 2000 a week or more. bickando 3967 Share Posted March 28, 2012 For the army, once the nation charter is accepted, we should have a fort and defenses right in front of Ascella and maybe in front of Seventis. Another idea would be to have a base for the army where all things related to it are discussed. Finally, and this is probably the most important... 200 max minas a week is not going to adequately feed someone. It is barely enough to buy wheat for my cows.
