Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: gamer9726

How old are you?: 14

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: United States

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a person who loves to read and play video games in my spare time. My favorite types of books are medieval fantasy, and the same goes for videogames.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: I’m going to say 18 hours

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: To me, roleplaying is viewing the world totally through the eyes of your character and immersing yourself in the fictional world around you.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:

I’ve played on the Road to Ages server

I host my own roleplay server (Don’t worry, it’s for me and some of my friends and I’m not here to advertise)

I have briefly played on a world of warcraft roleplay server, but it really was not a roleplay server because of the many people who did not know how to roleplay

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Metagaming is knowing things in game that your character should not know. It is easy to meta game by accident, just by seeing someone’s RP name above their head and addressing them by it even if you have not been introduced.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: Powergaming is unrealistically overpowering your character. One example of this is if you are being robbed by a bandit, and you make your character stab the bandit in the chest. This is powergaming because you have to give the other character a change to dodge the attack.

What do you expect this server will be like?: To be honest, I do not know, because the roleplay servers I have played on have smaller communities. This server has many slots and is sometimes full, and from what I’ve seen the world map is huge. Because of this, I am excited because it will be a much more realistic environment if it takes real minecraft days to travel in between cities, for example.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I have played on Road to Ages before, as well as my own server. I still play on my server, but it is a smaller community and I wanted to see what it was like to Roleplay with a much larger community. I left Road to Ages because for new players, it was very hard to start roleplaying because of the vastness of the world and the smaller amount of players.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I do

How did you hear about us?: I’m not sure actually. I remember finding out about Lord of the Craft a long time ago, but I have only just thought about signing up.

Have you voted for the Lord of the Craft on Minestatus? Which vote number were you?: No, I have not.

In-Character:

Character Name: Kastor

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): None

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

The misty air was refreshing compared to the warm cave I had just exited. I stared at the reflection of my face in the grey-blue water. Ripples disrupted the reflection and I turned my head to the left to see my friend Tristan throwing rocks into the water. It sunk, of course, but that did not stop him from trying. I put my face in my hands and said slowly, “Why do you do this Tristan? We are on a mission... you find a way to insert games into everything we do...”. Tristan chuckled, like he always did when I scolded him. As I stared into the murky water, I remembered my parents and for a moment, I felt so sad, my knees buckled. Musn’t think about that... And yet I do. Not a day goes by without me thinking about them. Perhaps if they were dead, it would be easier to let go of them...

My story is a story of weakness. Human weakness, and nothing more. I chose my own personal safety over that of my family and that is why I have not gone back ever since. They never disowned me, they never even got angry at me, but I could not bear the shame of knowing that I would have let them die in that bandit raid, and so I left. They probably thought that I was dead-I’m not sure, but I had had enough of this. I was going to find them. That brings us back to that misty day. I had found out that they had been taken hostage just days after I left them, by the same bandits who survived their last attack. I contacted a guild of mercenaries to see if I could pay them to help me. I was moderately wealthy through means I would rather not talk of. They agreed to help me and sent Tristan to help me track down the bandits and save my family. For the rest of the year, we traveled the lands looking for them. That misty day was the day I saw my family again. The bandits were in an enclave that was nestled in a cliff next to a small beach. “Tristan,” I called out to my friend. “Come on.” He picked his bow up from the ground. I did the same, and together, we entered the bandit lair. It was easy killing the bandit guards, and we made our way into the cave. It has a pool, several fires, and some cages at the far end. Had our quest finally come to an end? I looked at Tristan, and he nodded. He was ready, and so was I. We had a plan. He created a diversion by attacking two bandits to the far left of us. I crept along the rightmost wall, carrying flint and steel in my hands. I created a fire around the bandit weapon pile, setting their tools alight. I then rushed to my family. They were asleep, bruised, and thin. A sharp edge pointed against my back. I turned around, and the bandits surrounded us. “You will get nothing,” their leader said to me. “We will kill you.” Knowing I had failed, I pushed the cage holding my parents as hard as I could. It clashed with the cave wall, waking them up. Their expressions were those of shock as they saw me, and I nodded to them, knowing that they could read my eyes. I have not forgotten you, and I am so sorry.... “I will not let you die,” I muttered, before setting a bandit alight and making my escape. Tristan did not follow. When I did not hear his footsteps behind me, I looked back. The bandits were holding him. He mouthed one word. Go. I shook my head, but he did it again, and again. I left, hoping that they had not killed him. Ever since then I have been looking for any information about those bandits, because one day, I will kill them and save my family.

Not bad for a first app but...

Your definitions are incorrect

Your bio includes no server lore, like the destruction of aegis, the escape to asulon, and should have more personality, quirks, flaws, fears etc

Your ORQs need to be in full RP with detail and dialogue
