History

In the years of ancient Aegis, there were no Kingdoms or cities, there were tribes and clans of Men, Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs. One on mankind's greatest tribes were the Harenites, a group of tall, strong hearted warriors led by Haren, the first born of Horen, and one of his favorites. Soon the Harenites clashed with a tribe of Elves led by Princess Morwen Idril, the Black Princess of the forest. The two peoples fought for fifty years, until one day they threw down their weapons, and soon the peoples began to marry each other. The blood from the Elves and the Human's mixed, and soon the first of a new race were born.

The tribe settled along the Aduni mountain's of Old Aegis and set up their home. The people took their name from these mountains, and called themselves the Adunian's. Peace and love flourished and the Adunian's prospered in Ancient Aegis, though it would not last long. 100 Year's before the first Age, Iblees surfaced and waged war on the mortals. Horen called upon Haren and the Adunians for help, and they soon joined the fight. They fought valiantly besides Horen and other mortals, though they would not prove successful. Only after Horen, Malin, Krug, and Urguan defeated Iblees in combat, was Aegis freed.

All peoples suffered, though the Adunian's suffered the most. They were cursed with both the fates of Men and Elven kind. They would receive shorter lives than other races, and children would be few. However their Elf blood was somewhat preserved, and they would live twice as long as other Humans. The Aduni mountains were flattened, so Haren and Morwen led their surviving people to where Horen would found the first Kingdom of Men, Oren. After Horen's death at the hands of Krug's axe, Haren was named King of Oren. Haren I would lead a revenge war upon the Orcs for Horen's murder at the hands of Krug. Haren would slay Krug with Durendal, Horen's great Elvish sword forged he used in the Great War.

Haren would rule until he was 204 years of age, then the Crown passed to his son, Baren the Swift, or Baren the Good. He ruled for 120 years and finished the great walls of Al'Khazar. He would later pass the throne onto his son Arendil the Kind, who would lead Oren in a great war against the Orc clan's and would bring about an alliance with the Elves, claiming a family bond with one of the High Princes. He would rule for 130 years, and he would leave the throne to his only son, Elendil the Exiled.

Elendil would only rule for 22 years until Seneschal Owyn Godwinson, raised a revolt and had the House of Haren and their supporters exiled into the far north of Aegis. Elendil led the Adunians across what would later be called the Adunian sea. Here Elendil set of land's for his people and called it the Realm of Ildon. Ildon would be the grand village and home to the Adunians for more than 800 years until it was horribly ended. In 1330, on 25th of Malin's Welcome, a few undead necromancers and a small army of undead minions attacked Ildon. The leader of the Adunia Rangers, and the brother of the recently deceased heir to the throne Aron, Halboron Elendil, led the defense of the town but was knocked unconcious during the battle.

When Halboron woke the necromancers had left and all that was left of Ildon was a burning ruin filled with undead creatures and minions. When he got to his house he found his nephew Artorus, the new heir of the Adunia, crouched over the body of his mother. Halboron saved the shards of Durendal from his vault before escorting Artorus out of the city and far south to the cloud temple. There he left Artorus with the shards and told him he would be able to find his own way from there. He then returned to Ildon to find it completely empty of survivors but managed to salvage the circlet of Horen from his fathers carcass. He then set off on his ventures, not to see another Adunia for over 40 years.

Artorus stayed at the temple, and was taken into the care of a monk, named Thelon. Thelon would teach Artorus the ways of Aegis, and taught him the cultures of all races. He would grow to be an intelligent, and kind man. Though kind, he was still violent. Artorus wanted revenge, and he wanted his people and his throne back. Yet he knew that would not happen, so he became sullen and dark. At the age of 18, he left Thelon, and the temple and began his life as a Renatian warrior.

After many years living in Retanus, Artorus was reunited with Halboron and together they began to piece back together their race and family. House Elendil is now a noble house of Renatus, with Artorus ruling our county of New Ildon.

Traits of an Elendil

Members of the Elendil bloodline prefer to wield a long-sword or bow in combat and love mountains and woodlands. We have dark black hair and a fierce temper.

Lands and Power

House Elendil, traditionally an Adunian family, now resides as a noble house of Renatus, possessing the county of Ildon in the far west, under the control of the Adunian Lord, Artorus Elendil.

Heirlooms

The Elendil family have two heirlooms. The first being the Circlet of Horen, worn by every Adunia lord. The second is the sword of Durendal, passed down from Lord to heir when the heir turns 17.

Traditions/Customs

1. It is tradition that the eldest member of the house becomes its leader

2. It is tradition that the youngest son of the last Lord is the heir to the crown

3. It is tradition for the heir to receive Durendal at the age of 17

4. It is tradition that the heir serve 5 years as an Adunian ranger before assuming the role of our lord
