Think about it. If God made you, he would want you to worship him. He rewards those who do so and punishes those who don't. The reward is Eternal life and the punishment is hell... So that's why we should worship him.

Not necessarily. If your talking about those people who failed the test, then no they probably wont. God is just showing them their weakness so that they can try to fix it. As for those who say that they are Christians, they will only go to hell if they do not truly repent and ask God to lead their lives before their life is over.

If god could create the universe, he could also go into an endless happiness stage where he don't need worshippers.

But god dosen't give constructive criticism, then how would they learn from their mistakes. And since Hitler was Catholic, could he just repent to god and go to heaven?

His ways are not our ways and his thought are not our thoughts. I cant explain why he didn't jut make Himself happy in a different way, just that He did it this way.

Err... the fact is he does give constructive criticism... that's what the Bible is... And yes, if Hitler truly repented and named God his only Lord and savior, then yes, he would go to heaven. In fact if anyone "confesses with their mouth that Jesus is lord and believe in their hearts that God raised them from the dead, than they will be saved". Remember that while Jesus was on the cross, the robber on the cross next to him confessed that Jesus was his Lord, and Jesus responded with "Truly i say to you: today you will be with me in paradise" So in answer to you question, yes, Hitler could have repented and gone to heaven. Remember, Christianity is not a "religion"(I hate using the word religion, because it is really a relationship, but i will get to that later...) of works. You cannot work your way into heaven. It is through faith that your salvation comes.

What a selfish god.

Ironical the reading the bible is the #1 way of turning Atheist.  So, Hitler is going to heaven with all the jews he killed? Christianity is a religion, so is Islam, although it's also about having a relationship with Allah. So people like Bill Gates is going to hell for helping billions of people with making the mordern day computer?, just for not believe in god?

I'm not sure where you are getting your info, but Hitler was not a Catholic. He was baptised a a baby and had his confirmation forced on him by his mother.

Hitler had TONS of anti-christian writings. Saying he was Catholic shows just how misinformed you are.

And no, Hitler would not go to heaven. He killed millions of Jews, spread all sorts of lies in his propaganda and much more, that's shitting in the ten commandments' face. Maybe if he didn't die at the end of WW2 and he spent the rest of his life trying to make up for the horrible things he did, then MAYBE he could get a shot at heaven...maybe.

EDIT: I'm disagreeing with hammer on most of this. Why would there be commandments and stuff if all you had to do is believe in God?

So Hitler had religion forced upon him? That's bad, right? (Key word: Islan) He was baptised as a baby because his mother were christian, not because HE had any special belif in god.

Hitler outlawed the biggest Atheist group in Germany when he had the power, and turned it into a church. Very anti-christ...

So far, the only advice i've ever gotten to go the 'heaven' is to bow down to god, and let him cleanse my sins. Couldn't Hitler do that? Or does god prefer good people before bad christians?

So, you worship the same christian god, but he prefer diffrent things, as we say, double standards is double as good.

http://usminc.org/hitler.html it doesn't have the best sources but if it's right then he definitely did not like Christianity. Also, there's this on wikipedia which seems to be saying that by the time he rose to power, he just publically supported Christianity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_of_Adolf_Hitler

Hitler broke so many commandments that it'd be VERY hard/impossible to get forgiven but I don't know because there isn't a chart in the bible saying what gets you sent to hell or heaven, and how much repenting and stuff you can do for forgiveness if you did a certain thing and etc.

I disagreed with hammer, just like you can disagree with certain athiests on some theories and stuff. I might have misread his stuff and I don't think it's 100% clear what you must do. He seemed to be saying that all you needed was belief and I think that you need to do more than that, or why would there be commandments?

Each SubChurch has it's own beliefs, but Protestants tend to call themselves Christian instead of....Protestant. Please, before attacking Christian beliefs, specify which Church, or else it could be misinterpreted. Just for clarification.

Edit: I can't get the tree fixed, but you get what I mean.

I have a question for you concerning Bible scriptures.

If salvation comes from a mixture of faith and works, what do you make of this scripture: "For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not of your own doing, it is a gift of God, not a result of works, that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

Doesn't that imply that you cannot be saved through works...? Works comes from faith. Not the other way around. Christianity is a faith based "religion". Its what makes us different from all other religions. Islam is purely works based. Do this and this and this to get to heaven. There is no mention of a relationship with allah in the Koran. In the Bible, there clearly is mention of relationship. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind and soul". This sounds a lot like a relationship to me. Islam is clearly in error. They claim that Jesus was the servant of allah, yet Jesus Himself claims to be Gods own son. The contradictions never end.

I challenge you to give me one contradiction in the bible that i cannon explain.

Oh and BTW i am a protestant.

Actually you cant. The Bible gives a clear creation story. God made everything in 7 days. Plus the Genealogy of Jesus to Adam is produced in Luke( I think it was luke... could have been Matthew), and all the maximum it would have taken would be 10,000 years... so No.

I never said anything about contradictions and stuff in the bible, I was just saying that since the commandments are there, I think we're kind of meant to follow them. Else they wouldn't be in the bible, would they now?

This thread is 60 pages of this;

At the end of the day you're all idiots for arguing about your own beliefs. If someone wants to believe that they'll go to a place in the sky with their family then let them. If someone wants to believe that they'll end up in a hole in the ground and then just cease to exist, then let them. Live and let die and all that.
