Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: KG9696

How old are you?: 15

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: My time zone is EDT or GMT-4 (US + Canada).

I live in the United States.

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: I would say that I am good at English. English was my first language.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I am a fun-loving student who is always interested in new things. I would definitely consider myself curious and inventive. I'm not the most popular person but that does not bother me in the slightest.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?:Generally, I could be on the server for 30 minutes a day at least. On the weekends, I could either be on for more that four hours a day, or barely at all.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you:I know that Roleplaying is exactly what it sounds like. It is pretending to be someone other than yourself. I have friends on the server who say roleplaying is fun so I decided to give it a shot.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?:I have no experience roleplaying unless RPGs are counted. However, I seriously doubt that they are.

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: I do not have a clear idea of what Meta-Gaming is. My best guess from what I already know is that Meta-Gaming is using out of character information about another character to one's advantage.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Gaming is: I don't know much about Power-Gaming is either. However, I can assume it has something to do with not being part of the RP. I can promise that if I'm accepted I will never do anything out of RP.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I expect it will be extremely fun compared to any other form of Minecraft. In my single-player games and even a couple of servers, I found that the game was not structured enough. For instance, my single-player commands mod made me feel like the game was too easy. A more structured game that does not have an exact storyline seems like the best way to get the most fun out of Minecraft.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?:The only other server I have played on is one that my friend made. It has around 18 members from the two public high-schools in our area. I left it because it was too disorganized and corrupt. The whole point of that server is that the 18 of us would go out and do a huge survival mode. Unfortunately, both of the ops started putting themselves in creative mode and ruined it for the rest of us. The head of the server did nothing about those ops so I decided to leave.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?:Yes, I have agreed to all the rules.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: I do

How did you hear about us?: A friend from my robotics class told me about Lord of the Craft.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: This is my first application. I hope that it is the only one that I need to make, but I seriously doubt it.

Have you posted this application on our minecraft forum thread yet? If not, just finish it up on here and then copy + paste is over there. I haven't posted it yet. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/832121-%E2%96%91%E2%96%92%E2%96%93-the-lord-of-the-craft-%E2%96%93%E2%96%92%E2%96%91-enter-the-world-of-asulon-o-f-f-i-c-i-a-l-l-y-t-h-e-n-o-1-r-p-s-e-r-v-e-r/):

In-Character:

Character Name: Orenir

What Race are you?: Human

What Sub-Race are you? (note, you aren’t required to have a sub-race): None

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Orenir was born in the town of Aegisorun in the Kindom of Alras. He looked normal expect that a birth defect caused him to have no right eye. His father died soon after his birth in a war and left his mother, Arenta, to deal with the child. From an early age, Orenir loved to make things. As a child, he loved to make snowmen in the winter and at the age of seven, he build a treehouse. He had many friends who he made various things for. He built a little underground hideout for his friend Jontro, and a set of drawers for his mother. Unfortunately at the age of thirteen, tragedy struck. His mother became deathly ill and eventually died from an unknown disease. The death of his last remaining parent devastated him, but he never cried. Instead, he isolated himself. He even went as far as to lock himself in Jontro's underground hideout. A couple days after the death of Arenta, Orenir's uncle, Belsol, came into Aegisorum and took responsibility for the child. He took Orenir back to his small, wooden house in the middle of nowhere.

Belsol was an exceptionally kind man and constantly tried to cheer Orenir up. He tried everything he could think of: stories, pictures, games, the list was endless. One day, he decided to show Orenir what he did for a living. Belsol was an inventor who worked with redstone. He showed Orenir all about power and what it could be used for. The discovery of redstone lifted Orenir out of his depression. For the first time in nearly a year, he started building things again. This time however, he was building everything out of redstone. His uncle taught him many things and they became very close. He loved Belsol almost as much as his late mother. Their bond became ever closer when Belsol decided to put redstone in Orenir's left eye, enabling him to see in that eye. As time went on, Orenir became curious about his Uncle's living conditions. When he asked why they lived in a small wooden house with little to no money, his Uncle said, "Orenir, not many people love redstone the way you and me do. They don't realize what it can do. That is why we are short of coin."

The years passed by and Orenir learned more and more about redstone. By this point, he was almost as knowledged as his Uncle. He could build anything from combination locks, to automatic farms, and even some basic computers. However, as he learned more, his Uncle aged. By the time Orenir was 24, Belsol had started to loose his vision. When Orenir turned 26, his Uncle could not leave his bed and was close to death. On the first day of the new year, Belsol died as a content parent. Before he died, he told Orenir this, "Explore the world and teach people of its wonders. I have stored all the resources you need in our chest. When I die, take them and start your new life."

The very next day, Orenir set out for the capitol of Alras, content in the knowledge that his uncle died happily, but completely ignorant to the ways of the real world. On the road to the capitol, shady figure stepped out from behind a large tree. Completely unaware that he was in danger, Orenir said "Hello sir, do you happen to be traveling to Alras too, maybe we can walk together." "Sure," said the figure in a low voice, "may I ask what you are carrying?" "Oh this, tis all the items I received after my Uncles death, why do you ask?" "No reason," said the man, "You said you're going to Alras right?" Orenir looked confused, "Well aren't you as well?" "Yes, yes" said the man, "By the way, I know a very convenient short-cut, it's right over here through these trees. We can make it to the city in half the time." Orenir, not in the least bit skeptical, followed the man through the trees. As they go deeper into the forest, Orenir becomes more and more skeptical. A good thirty minutes after they left the road he asks, "Are you sure this is the right way?" He expected to hear the man answer from behind him. Instead, he heard a loud thump and his legs buckled. His vision blackens.

Orenir wakes up, head pounding and stomach grumbling. He no longer has anything of value besides the clothes he is wearing. He stumbles around in a confused daze. He could not remember much of anything, except of his love for redstone. As he stumbled upon a temple, one phrase kept repeating itself over and over again, "Explore the world, and teach people of its wonders."

Orenir is pale and is fun-loving as well as curious. He takes the only words that he remembers from his uncle to heart. He explores the world, and has fun while doing it. Along with this, there are moments when he becomes very depressed because he cannot remember his family.

What is your Character's ambitions?: Orenir wants to become a businessman making redstone products for his customers. He wants to make people interested in redstone and share his vast knowledge of the subject with others. He also wants to remember more about his Mother, Arenta and his Uncle Belsol, who he can barely remember.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Orenir's favorite tool is the pickaxe because it is the only thing that can pluck redstone straight out of the ground. He also loves it for its ability to break things that nothing else can.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Orenir is most skilled with redstone, he knows almost everything there is to know about it.

Other Information about your Character: He is not the best at building structures on the outside, but they generally look very nice on the inside. He loves underground structures or those inside mountains. Even though he is not a mean-spirited person, he loves complicated weapons as much as any other redstone creation.

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? Orenir shouts, "get away from him!" Once it is clear that the warriors are now chasing him, he sprints away, hoping that he is not caught.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? Orenir smiles and sais, "Do happen to have any sort of mined good, redstone perhaps. While I'm on the subject, I might be able to interest you in something. I could, for a fee, equip your stall with flashing redstone lights. You would attract many more customers which means more money in your pocket."

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?:Orenir doesn't want to steal anything, but there's no harm in taking items that belong to nobody. He decides to leave a sign with his name on it, and a note just in case anybody did live there. He hopes that if he did make a mistake, the owners of the hut would contact him in the future.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? Orenir asks "Please sirs, may I have some food and direction to the nearest village, I am lost and very hungery. I will make sure to pay you back for your good deeds as soon as I can"

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?: Orenir sais, "Of course! That is, so long as you can provide me with the proper equipment to fight these bandits."

Denied.

Please look up and define meta and power-gaming, do not guess, put the effort in and research the terms. You will not be allowed onto the server unless you have clear understanding of both.

Your definition of roleplaying could also be expanded upon.

In your biography I am not sure if Aegisorun is a real town in Lord of the Craft, if so I am sorry, but this denial still stands.

I do not think putting redstone in one's eye allows for sight.

Computers do not exist in Lord of the Craft.

Your biography is good, needs a bit more expansion at the end, but very brief. You need to edit and remove the bits above, and it'll be one of the better one's I've read. Very clever idea.

Please post a proper image of your skin, not the texture, but an image of the skin. Open up your game and hit F5 and snap a screenshot.

Your open response questions need to be expanded, they are too short, and do not clearly show your off your character or your ability to roleplay. Open response questions are your opportunity to show off your skills as a roleplayer, but not only that they give us, the application team, a first taste of your character and how he will react to these situations. Take advantage of that.

You will be allowed to reapply in twenty four hours, if you have any questions regarding your application feel free to drop a PM in my inbox.

Good luck!
