A Most Terrifying Discovery....

Rei sits by the sheep pen, writing up a report hastily.

" A most terrible discovery Tiernen and I have made. While out exploring distant lands, lands I will not name for fear of someone outside of Haelun'or acquiring this report, we came across what seemed to be an altar, a pathway and.... a giant hand coming out of the sand. It was made of stone. So it was clearly non-living. Good thing too! If it had been, Tiernen and I would have been ripped to shreds! It was absolutely massive. I will locate an artist to paint what it was I have found. I found what appeared to be an ancient blade in front of the altar. I have decided to keep it for myself until I can get someone I trust to determine it's worth."

Several sketches on paper accompany the report. The report has been sent by bird to the residents of Haelun'or.

The report was brought to the tavern for the highbrows and highborns of Haelun'or to gaze at one by one. Ellir, the ever-armed Justicar, leaves her post momentarily, finds the report as discussion enfolds by the scholars of the Silver City.

She looks upon the first image accompanying that report. She mutters softly. "A giant hand, then? Better hear this from Tiernen, then. Mali'ker are only too known for exaggerating the truth."

She turns a leaf to find the second sketch. "That unsightly gibberish, it is almost like there is thought behind it. It must be Orcen?"

By the third, she sighs, wishing the mysterious artifact could have been sketched in more detail. Off-handedly she resolves to have a trusted Mali'aheral compatriot look upon it himself.

" The altar is most disturbing " Kolyat mutters upon seeing the painting," the stone, it is neither from this world or from any of the paintings I have seen of the nether. One wonders who they acquired it, we must research this further. "

*Regaki becomes curious as he walks through Haelun'or, hearing many people chattering amongst themselves in a large group, all holding the same piece of paper. Regaki approaches the group and recieves a copy of the report from one of the individuals and begins to read*

*After finishing, Regaki takes the report and runs across the bridge to the boat, and sails back to the Cloud Temple to inform Saeldur of the Mages Guild*

((Interrupt))

Perhaps off-duty but never off-valiance, Ellir notices the as-of-yet unknown figure that seems to catch eye of the report. While she is still reading, she senses this other pair of eyes reading along. Due to the nature of the report, the question of the stranger's race, and the curiosity that one would wander through the Silver City by chance and read, perhaps even try to copy this document, she intercepts the wanderer and asks in her least hostile, yet most determined tone.

"Karin'ayla, averir. You are not of the Mali'aheral, or are you, narnir? Would you mind terribly showing me your permit?"

*Regaki turns around and faces the voice, tilting his head at she speaks to him.*

"I have had no problems being here before, Sythra, Dante, nor Lafthi didn't seem to mind my traveling without a permit here...

To answer your question, no, I do not have a permit."

*Then attempts to maneuver around the person to continue to the boat*

Although Ellir would fail, and not see the need to, grasp this stranger by the collar and keep him from leaving, she lets her eyes trail his exit from the tavern carefully. The gates of the inner city should be as sealed as they always are, and she wonders how exactly this stranger allows himself to enter and leave so easily.

*looks from his daily walk to the commotion in the tavern. Places his hand on his sword and exclaims,

"What in the ancestors is this one trying to do?"

*steps into the doorway blocking the escape.

*Regaki scratches his head, now slightly out of the doorway with another person trying to block his "escape". He calls a raven down to his shoulder, and ties the report around the raven's leg, attempting to release it*

Laughs as the raven strives in vain fly out of the inn, the doors and windows all closed due to the storm raging outside

Rei writes hurriedly another report as he finishes his report.

" Upon further studying of this location, I have noticed one of the strange stones that this wall seems to be made of. While I believe these 3 stones to depict the sun being blocked out by the moon, two of the stones appear to be of common origin. Something we can typically find here in Asulon. Glowstone and a mass of clay. While the 3rd and final stone does not seem to be of Asulon origin.

My guess is that it originates from the Nether. Perhaps even somewhere far worse than the Nether.....

I have figured that the sign in front of the pathway is of true Blah or whatever the Uruk call their ancient language. How they acquired the 3rd stone is beyond me.

One thing is certain however. The 3rd stone is from an unholy region. I intend to write up a more formal report and present this to King Godfrey. It seems the Orcs are not the 'holy crusaders', he believed them to be. Shame.

This stone could only have been acquired from some use of a demonic portal of sorts."
