Patch 2.6

To Seventh,

Your referencing the poll that went up a day ago? Now I know why I missed it, I was busy yesterday with real life.

Either way I am sure you can get a large sampling of the server from a day old poll with 255 total unique votes (at this time).

Oh, and only 27% actually wanted the physics modification added without any modifications (Which is basically how it went in).

That's quite a large majority there.

Why can't you guys ever just own your mistakes?

To jackbren,

I am living with it, thank you.

That doesn't mean someone shouldn't voice a serious complaint when the development team does something like this.

I think you are failing to see the underlying issue here, they put up a poll and then added the modification ONE DAY LATER without play testing it at all.

To Hawk,

I understand they made a mistake, I just want them to understand that this is not a small one... there was no permanent damage but the system itself was so flawed it shouldn't have been used in the first place. It took me a whole 30 seconds listening to someone explain it before I knew it was broken, that's not a lot of time investment.

So if half the server is 14-18 then what is the other 50%? The amount of people over 18 is very low, so where does that put the rest of them? Look I understand that people always get touchy about age comments but the fact is the average age of our player base is only 12-15 years old.

I respect a lot of the staff, that however doesn't mean they are above being lectured every once in a while when they make a bad decision.

I fail to see where I am being a horrible person here just because I am calling out the Development team on their bad management of this server addition.

Im sorry and of course no one is going to be happy I think this but I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS! This armor slow down honestly in my opinion ruins everything! All acts of villainy are going to go to thin air in my eyes... But it appears this is what the people want...?

Spoken like a true House Flay :3

Why is it going to ruin villainy? Just because an unarmoured man can outrun you diamond-clad monsters (:P) doesn't mean it's the end of all villainy. Maybe you should save your heaviest armour for wars and battles? Or maybe even role-play it!

Alright let's get some stuff straight.

Your referencing the poll that went up a day ago? Now I know why I missed it, I was busy yesterday with real life. Either way I am sure you can get a large sampling of the server from a day old poll with 255 total unique votes (at this time).

It may have only gone up a day ago, but it has been up for enough time to get a general idea of what the public wants. When people take surveys, do they ask every single person related to the topic about it, or a small group? The answer is a small group, as it yields close to the same results ratio-wise. 255 votes is more than enough for us to know what people want or don't want.

Oh, and only 27% actually wanted the physics modification added without any modifications (Which is basically how it went in). That's quite a large majority there. Why can't you guys ever just own your mistakes?

Actually, 45% wanted it without modifications. And although this isn't the majority, it was the option with the most votes, and the reason for why we chose it. And why don't we own up to our mistakes? How about you stop making statements that are completely false, seeing as we DO own up to our mistakes and we work to fix them. As was previously mentioned, we volunteered for this position and we take time away from RP to help you guys and the server. The last thing we need is ignorant people raging at us over a mistake we made, no matter how large or small it was.

That doesn't mean someone shouldn't voice a serious complaint when the development team does something like this. I think you are failing to see the underlying issue here, they put up a poll and then added the modification ONE DAY LATER without play testing it at all.

No, there isn't any problem with voicing a complaint. However, the way you went about voicing it was extremely inappropriate. We are already working to fix the kinks. And there isn't an issue with the poll, as I said above.

I understand they made a mistake, I just want them to understand that this is not a small one... there was no permanent damage but the system itself was so flawed it shouldn't have been used in the first place. It took me a whole 30 seconds listening to someone explain it before I knew it was broken, that's not a lot of time investment.

Does it matter whether or not the mistake is small? We already understand it, as we've already had plenty of people bring it up, most of whom brought the issue up in a responsible and mature fashion. And despite the flaws, there is nothing that can't be fixed and it SHOULD be in. Also, now you're complaining about losing 30 seconds of your life? First world problems bro.

So if half the server is 14-18 then what is the other 50%? The amount of people over 18 is very low, so where does that put the rest of them? Look I understand that people always get touchy about age comments but the fact is the average age of our player base is only 12-15 years old.

And how do you know this? Did you take a survey? Did you ask everyone? Or is this just what you'd like to think? The ages on this server vary greatly, having people as young as ten and people as old or older than 40, and it is fairly spread out too. But until you actually know what you're talking about, don't say "facts" that have no basis or proof.

I respect a lot of the staff, that however doesn't mean they are above being lectured every once in a while when they make a bad decision. I fail to see where I am being a horrible person here just because I am calling out the Development team on their bad management of this server addition.

There's the thing, we don't need to be lectured. We made a mistake, now get over it. Believe it or not, we didn't put all this stuff in to burden the players, we did it to satisfy the wants of the players, but it unfortunately wasn't executed as well as we thought. This doesn't mean it was a bad decision, in fact it was a great decision that we put it in, as we were testing it. As for being a horrible person? You aren't, but you need to realize where we are coming from, put yourself in our shoes for a moment and think how you would react if a player started "lecturing" us about what we need to do, as if they know better than us.

Seems to be a dig at Seventh, that he doesn't have a life.

"Oh, and only 27% actually wanted the physics modification added without any modifications (Which is basically how it went in)."

Actually, 45% of the vote wanted the plugin with no modification. And it did go in with modification. Notice how pistons don't bounce stuff?

My mossy cobblestone horde is worthless!

I believe it is the end of all villainy because what happens when you try to do something? Rob them as an example, they are going to run! Because they can simply out run you! What if you tried to fight someone... They will run! I personally tried to aim for someone with atleast armor on so that un armored people wouldnt get upset and say its unfair... I cannot target those people if they cant wear armor themselves! It ruins fights, It ruins RP (in my eyes) Honestly, I think that it ruins everything :/

If they run away, faster than you because they're unarmoured, tough luck, that's what happens in real life. Get an archer to pin them down, or use tactics and/or multiple people to surround them. If they run away with no/poor role-play, then they're not worth role-playing with in the first place, and if it really bothers you - strike report them.

Remember: You should never be playing for the items. Items are just a role-playing tool.

There is also a lot of villainy other than banditry, too.

Edit: And that, beneath me ( v ). That's a good point too.

Mabye bandits will really be bandits now! Beacause in medival times they were leather Armor and almost nothing else. Not the best armor money could bu and use it to over power everyone else. And last I checked this is WIP with the tweaking still. All we need to do is rp normally and move on and ve patient

Realistically, villains don't operate alone. They circle the guy, blocking any form of escape.

Or they'd block the door.

If they run out of the place even though RPly they're blocked, simply ban report or /t them a warning.

You can say all that you want capt0z... But my opinion is not going to change that SO MUCH if not all roll play for villains (Atleast villains like me) is ruined from this ://

I live in Australia... the time zones are in the worst possible time, I have no villain allies on at those times with me...

Go become a theif. Villains aren't only highway robbers.

The new villain rules let you steal from chests if you roll a certain amount.

I've tried, but Im always told I cannot because the owner isnt online, again relating to my time zones... This patch probably only effects me how it does... But still...

Was this before or after the new villain rules?

Also, you could be a phony merchant, luring people into a "stall", trapping them. I've seen someone do it, it usually works really well.
