I have to at least disagree with one point, your map has far to much water. We have a very limited amount of space to build in anyway. The smaller the map the less load on the server. Having 70% of our map taken by water doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps our new map will be more fantastic mountains, valleys, deserts and other scenery. With borders made of "Impassible" mountain ranges instead of the same old Island idea. Thank you for organizing all of this, I do not want to move at all but fear you are correct that it will be needed someday.

The problem with being surrounded by mountain ranges is that the Dwarves would surround all the other races. War with the dwarves would mean being attacked from all sides

Not that I'm complaining. Sounds good to me :rolleyes:

we want a landmass but the inpassable terrian is cool and we could then open Passes into the new land over the moutian and people can explore it.

That's if there's a call for it of course... we don't want to give them something they don't want.

Exactly, Dwarves should be around the other nations. And under there feet. To war with the mighty Dwarven nation would be a grueling task, where as waring against the orcs is just suicide. I invasion the dwarves security to be in the vast complex tunnel systems and thousands of traps. yes you might know where they live and work, but can you safely traverse the passages that lead there?

@Hiebe, an excellent idea.

Land creates RP, very people would fight over a piece of ocean, but a vast jungle full of lost ruins and resources...now that is something.

I'd add another suggestion, make trees grow a lot slower on the new map. Lumber should be a resource that you run out of if abused. Not something that is of infinite supply no matter how reckless you are with obtaining it. How fun would it be if you could mine iron, and plant it, sprinkle bonemeal and mine more iron..over and over again, not very and makes about as much sense.

I think an interesting plugin would be one that could limit block placement/ growth of entities within a region. This could be used for Dark wood only occurring in snow regions ect..

On that note, make the height of the map at 128 or so, this way there is more room for underground expansion.

Why not 256?We could have epic landscapes,with mountains,and stuff.

When we migrate to the new map...hopefully a long time from now. It will be much higher than it is now. With both more underground room, and glorious mountains. Which also supports the idea of "impassible" mountain ranges.

Maybe have the regular land be at the 100 block height for more room underground?

Because 256 is the height limit and we could build nothing? What I meant is we move the sea level to 128...
