Patch 2.7 | Skill System 2.0

agree 100% my character could take a piece of wood and sand it down into a door, or take a couple of nails and a hinge and make a chest. For those of you who would say "wood craftsmen do that, derr!" It doesn't mean I can't make a bad one. Also, beyond the RP aspect of things, I think that this level of ... well... level requirement are unnecessary and unattractive for the server. If I had to pick one item to bring back from the woodcrafting side, it would be chests. Not being able to make chests is a bit ridiculous if you ask me.

You missunderstood though.. Anyone without lumberjacking can make doors, slabs, stairs, presureplates, fences, signs and trapdoors.

While I do agree that everyone should be able to do presureplates, signs, chests, crafting tables and trapdoors without lumberjacking skill, fences, slabs, trapdoors, and stairs should be less than normal, like they are for planks and sticks.

Maybe have high level lumberjacks make 2 chests instead of one, and make more trapdoors, but still make non lumberjacks able to make them.

I have to admit. I'm a little concerned for the new players. I mean...they don't have access to the same resource stockpiles many of the older players do. And with even level 100 players messing up tools fairly routinely...normal players are going to have a great deal of trouble.

I worry about this patch. Many times have I been completely unable to find anyone to trade with, actually, 99% of the time I want to trade, I have not been able to. In real life, you can walk to a grocery store at any time you wish. The clerk does not simply dissappear for most of the day, as you cannot log off from life. If we are going to include realistic incapability of being self-sufficient, then we should somehow make realistic, constant ability to trade. Perhaps a solution could come in the form of npc merchant shops, buying supplies and selling them to crafters, or perhaps something else. I just fear that my character is going to starve. Many, many, times.

Not a fan of the some of the new skill system aspects. But love the others especially no slime :)

Yay! But I do think that everyone should be able to craft signs. Irl most people would be able to make some sort of sign so that doesn't really make sense.

You can't craft signs at low levels? I would really like to know this.

[Edit] lvl 35 for a sign?

And chests need lumberjacking skill as well?

I think this should be changed

I agree, this is kind of making me uneasy.

Will there be a possible skill reset?

(this is just an example, I got nothing against you personally, I actually don't even know you ;) <3 )

People fail to see what the purpose behind skills are.

You are ment to be good at a few things, as you are in real life.

Even being an extreme swordsman and farmer at the same time is just strange if it was IRL.

People had to gather up to survive, that's what we have been doing today.

It's not impossible to live on your own many miles away from everyone else, but it's a tough and not one of the kindest lifes.

This will add more prespective behind your choices and possibilities.

MOVE O_O AS ONE! :D

I am aware the gms have been trying to get people to do more rp related jobs such as glass making, lumberjacking, etc…but the thing is no matter how much you force people to focus on one skill or whatever people are not going to do that. Most likely people are always going to find the best way to get the most skills out of this new system and use it to their advantage once again allowing them to become more or less, independent. Unless you threaten people with a ban I can’t see “rp” jobs ever working out no matter how much the public or the gms want it.

I was just farming, and I noticed I am not getting any seed drops at all anymore. Is this part of the new update? Or just a bug?

This patch sounds amazing! I think it will make the economy boom. There is not one thing that bothers me about it! I think this will make people focus on jobs such as, Lumberjacking, Blacksmithing and Farming making guards and bodyguards have to protect them from mobs. Also this would mean that trading will be used more often and I honestly don't have any complains! :D

I think this patch will stop something that all the server has been complaining about. No new small villages will be made, since at least one lumberjack, blacksmith, cook, farmer, archer, perhaps fisher as well, and normally people want miners.

And it will make shops better as well, making it so people actually have things to sell, other than me for exmaple, that could get anything I wanted (except ores) and still had skills points in fighting.

Only downside is new players. Maybe give more skill points to new player, from 50 to 75 or to 100.

And make a wiki page about what you need in what skill to do what, that would be nice as well.

All tools, armor, weapons, food, bows, fishing rods, arrows, and other misc. gear now have SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS TO CRAFT. Depending on how advanced you are in the skill, your item will be created with more or less durability than it's max. At low levels, items will be created with very few uses, while at level 100 almost all items will be made with full durability automatically.
