Just some thoughts.

1. THANK YOU For getting rid of slimes and magma cubes. ANNOYING as hell.

2. I agree with the argument that an Archer would know more then a lumberjack about making bows and arrows. I know lumberjacks in real life, they wouldn't know the pointy-end of an arrow if it hit them in the bum. Also, it takes a lot more then knowing the wood to make a good bow. Maybe make a new type of bow that only an Archer can make, that has to be honed by a lumberjack to give it like power 1 or something?

(NOTE: Been fixed as I wrote this. THANK YOU)

3. New players are screwed unless they already have friends here or come with friends to the server. It's difficult to even know where to go when you start, let alone find your way to a city and find someone actually there.

4. Have you been to Dresden lately? There's hardly anyone ever around. So to find a blacksmith, lumberjack, fisherman, ect. you have to take your portal to the temple, then walk somewhere. I know the boats and horses have made things a bit easier on that, but it's still a good 20 minute walk. And what happens during that 20 minute walk? Monsters attack.

Let's say my only bow is broken, or worse yet, I'm out of arrows and I have to go find someone that has flint (ANNOYING anyway). This means I have to walk 20 minutes, through dangerous paths alone (because god knows my friends aren't on).

My character was raised in the forest by a group of huntresses, she would know how to fletch and make her own bow.

5. No skill reset with major changes? Even World of Warcraft doesn't screw you over that bad. This means I have to wait a month to donate five bucks and fix my stats. *sarcastic yay* And what about the younger players who don't have Paypal or Credit Cards? You're encouraging the theft from older relatives or complete strangers.

6. You say you want to encourage more roleplaying, but all you've done is restrict character development. People will figure out what levels do what of what skill, and get them just high enough to do what they want.

My grandmother has put this best in the past: We live in an instant society. Instant coffee, instant messaging, instant gratification. People will do whatever it takes to make that instant lifestyle keep going.

These changes go against the instant lifestyle. People will find away around it.

7. Archery affects leather armor? Could we get a buff to that leather armor then? I try to be the good RPer and not use like full plate as an archer, but it's ANNOYING when you get 2 shot by a mob when trying to move away from a mob and it lags you back into it...

8. New arrow recipe please! Flint is too hard to find to make new arrows.

9. Fishing required to cook fish? Um...So my friend does fishing, and I do the cooking for our group of friends. He has no cooking at all. I have like level 5 fishing. How is this correct?

In real life, I go fishing. I catch fish. I clean fish. I cook fish.

10. If you really want people to focus on just one field of the skill tree, make minas easier to get for gatherers and crafters. Right now, the best way to get money is killing monsters. You need money to get established in a town. So, you're still encouraging cross tree skilling.

And that's enough for now...

I feel this detracts more than it does anything else... This adds the advances and responsibilities needed in a real life situation, where you dedicate your time to the project. Unlike some people, I don't GET to spend all day on my projects. The only established blacksmith for 1000 blocks doesn't log on at the times I do, so this would request that MORE people become blacksmiths. This takes the other blacksmith out of the competition, and creates an unreal scenario where half of the people in this setting become blacksmiths... I can understand some changes, but unless we get an influx of 100 more players that could be on to do these jobs, we should retain our independent reliability.

Edit: I own a pretty booming town with around ten citizens right now, and we just started. This small and quaint town worked perfect in the old system, and allowed two miners to do the work that is now required of the cooperation of everyone in town. When one of my miners wants to mine, what does he do? he waits for our craftsman to get on. What does that craftsman do? he waits for the lumberjack to get on to supply the materials. By the time the lumberjack is on the miner logged off. the product is a complete collapse, and production breakdown. I quit the starwars MMO because it took much too long to get anywhere and get anything done. That is where I'm seeing this going right now, In my daily life I can't wait two hours for the sufficient number of people to log on so that I can furnish a house.

ONE LAST EDIT: btw, I'm having these problems and I'm american... think of the Australian playerbase.

Shouldn't 100 level blacksmiths have a higher chance? Such as a 1/20 of messing up? To get level hundred you should be pretty good at it. Another suggestion is to tie in racial traits to the skill system such as giving Dwarves better blacksmithing, elves better fletching/bows, humans better farmers, and Orcs have higher chances with wrestling?

You know, we DO have chestshops..

Really? So you're volunteering to pay $25 for everyone to have a chest shop? Thanks.

Honestly, the only things I want from the patch is the nefring axe damage, and removing slimes. I like LotC how it is now, no need to change it.

There is a line between Realism and Redundancy and this crosses it. I shouldn't need a lumberjack level to make logs into planks. I have no experience IRL doing that and I can probably cut some logs with an axe I have in my backyard. I have never split logs in my life so I guess that's the equivalent of lvl 0. If there is a dispute over whether or not the requirement should be removed I'm willing to go outside, cut some REAL wood, with a REAL axe, and then post pictures.

>Edit: Going out to my garage to get an axe to cut wood. Will post pics.

Couldn't find any logs, but I did find a weather treated fence post lying around. It's 7:48 and I was only out for a few mins and I was able to chop halfway through it. I didn't want to disturb my neighbors. I might continue tomorrow when everyone's at work.

Pics in spoiler:
