No you cant apply yet.

But if you want a head start, start writing a journal. This will help us by telling us what kind of a person you are, how you behave, and most importantly if you are a good roleplayer or not. Also remember the sacrifice you are making becoming a mage. you become weaker everytime you practice this art

OOC: For now, please be patient. The application to become a mage will be released as soon as the GMs deem it ready. I'd prefer not to see anymore posts on this thread about when the application will be released, please. Just keep an eye on the forums and website news and you will see as soon as it is out. They WILL make an announcement as soon as the Mage Application is out, and as soon as it is out we will likely start accepting Guild Member applications as well.

And remember, applications to the Mage's Guild are for Mages who wish to be members of the guild. Mage Application on their own will be separate. Members of the Guild will receive an enhanced RP experience and the benefits which come with such a close group. Members will first train under the Guild Master for their race, and should they prove themselves worthy they may even gain the chance to study at the main Mage's Tower.

In other news, a few updates on how the Mage's Guild work is coming along:

1) The Dwarven Guild house is looking -excellent-! (The location is a secret, please do not go looking for it.)

2) Ogland has completed a super-special project which is also looking excellent as well, I can't wait to see some people make use of it.

3) 3/4 of the race's magic books have been completed. Undead/Ascended will be created as soon as we know what kind of other magic they are getting, and I will be working on a Master Spellbook as soon as possible.

4) Renovation work on the Mage's Tower has begun. New places for Mages training at the Tower to live are being created.

5) So far the humans will have two guild houses, one in Alkhazar and one in Snowy Fields. The Snowy Fields guild house will help us to protect Aegis from the Undead more easily, and will hopefully encourage some Mages to brave the cold of the North for the safety of Aegis.

Personally, I'd think a good wizard's tower would be floating in the sky, but then again, on land does allow both secrecy and underground catacombs in which to store a sleuth of libraries and documents...

Yeah... floating wizard towers aren't very subtle or even accessible for visitors...

Not sure why I'm thinking of different ways the mage's guild could have their main building considering it's apparently already built somewhere, but who cares, floating tower of towery floatyness!

What do you mean? every race has different spells. there isnt any 3 races with the same spells. or spells even similar

OOC:

This is fairly accurate. Each race will have 12 different spells of varying power, with 4 tiers or levels of magic and 3 spells in each level. Please read the Wiki for more information.

When you increase your level to a higher teir will you be abel to use the spell lower level then that tier or will you only be abel to use the tier your currently up to.

The way the tiers will work is with different types of hoes.

Stone will be with tier 1

Iron will be with tier 2

Gold will be with tier 3

Diamond will be with tier 4

So yes if you use a certain tier if need be. This will also help with training since training with only gold staffs would start to get expensive and eventually gold will be depleted. This will even it out and make magic not such a difficult thing. contrary to what some people believe Gold will not be the only Hoe that casts magic.

OOC: Please try to keep the majority of posts on this thread IN-CHARACTER. This is the roleplaying forum after all. [end OOC]

Mage's Updates:

Work on the next project is proceeding nicely. I do however find it difficult to remain neutral in these times, as I know the Guild is supposed to remain. Rebels pop up here and there and I feel the desire to get rid of them all for disturbing the peace. Renovations at the Tower have been mostly completed. All the magic books for the races have been completed.

May I ask if this is the tower in the elf capital because I was just there and there were no books.

No this is the main tower. The books however will be transfered into all of the guild halls and then distributed to the general public to raise awareness about the use of magic.

You are more than welcome to come inside and have a look around if someone is there to conduct a tour. I must ask that you do not poke around where you are not lead as there are many secrets in the tower... Most are very dangerous...
