*You are walking in the elven kingdom's capitol..... There a curious looking box that says "Read Me", As you look within the box you see parchments, quite a few of them. So you decide to take a parchment and sit on a nearby bench and read"

Greetings fellow elves, I am sure very few of you truly know me by my given name. But a majority of you know me by the name I gave my once I reached these lands of Aegis many of you call me "Wanderer".

Once I reached the coast of Aegis on a passing merchant boat whose Captain was kid enough to allow me on board as log as I helped with the crew work..... But that is another story....... As I left off, Once I reached the coast of Aegis, and the ship set dock in Malinor. I immediately picked up my pack and just walked in a random direction, starting my travels at the gates of Malinor where a guard asked me who I was and to state my business, Being new it was obvious he was well acquainted with all the passing travelers (Whom I will say were also curious to who I was) not knowing what to say since I wished to leave my old life behind I just simply stated that I was a Wanderer and hence the name stuck. But on my travels I have seen the human capital and its royal armies/guards, the Orc's with their Warbands/Clans united under one banner forming one massive green army, And finally the Dwarfs who seem like they are much like the Orcs and all of them are in the military...... So I went back to the Elven kingdom and have seen elven royalty and high elves, but rarely any elven guards or soldiers.... I know the Elves have Guilds and groups who are purely elves who come to the defense of the kingdom but why does our kingdom not have a full standing fighting force who are always training. Yes our ability with the bow is unsurpassed by the other races, and yes our blades are swifter than most.... But in two of the major battles against the undead I have been apart of the main fighters who faced the undead were Human soldier, Orc troops, and of course the Dwarves army. As to Elves I would see a few elves who came in singles or paired up with the other races armies...... I understand we have a guild that acts like our army but I believe we need a OFFICIAL army that is not a guild but apart of our nation...........I personally am ashamed that we a proud and sought after race either deem ourselves to good to be attacked or just do not deem our military to be as important and needs less of an attention......

Thank you for reading

Sincerely,

Wanderer

*You also see a note written on the very bottom*

To respond please write on the back of this parchment with the Quill and Ink in the back of the box, and leave the response in the box. Also do not steal the Quill and Ink

I think that the problem with this stems with the fact that there are very few elves to be found inside Laurelin itself.

I've found plenty of elves elsewhere, especially in Oren. I think this is due to the housing issue, which is deterring a lot of our citizens and diverting them elsewhere. I'm not sure if our Guard offers rooms, but if they did and elves knew about it, more would possibly join. High Prince Native is working on the housing issue, creating a new district in Laurelin (hopefully with cheap housing, as that would attract more elves). We can only do so much to invite elves to stay in Laurelin and join the guards. In the end, it is up to us elves to decide.

again im not a elf but you should make a rule of some sort stating "all elfs must attend this meeting" something like that and you discuss that with them and tell them to stay in the elf city not the human city

Thing about that is that it's hard to tear away elves from the lives they've built up in other cities.

Maybe I'm over-exaggerating, but every time I've been inside Laurelin (and I'm almost always there), it seems as though there are a maximum of 5-8 elves in the city at the most. I can only hope that the High Prince's (and all the other Princes and Princesses, for that matter)'s actions in terms of housing can fix this issue.

P.S. Whether or not I decide to join the guards of Laurelin, I will always be there to fight the Undead.

no but really if things are that desperate recruit guards of all races, create a militia (the militia will live nearby and inside the kingdom)and pay them a lot.

One quick thing, I know many Elves. Most of them either go hunting, trade, travel, or are in the city with the most of them falling into the former three categories. The Elves could have an army, but most Elves are into fighting that much until the time comes.

well that could be a problem considering the elfs might not know the city if they go out of it as frequently as you guys say they do

*Reads the response's*

*Begins writing*

I believe someone should bring this parchment up to the high elves of of our kingdom.... I would love to hear what they wish to say bout this subject.

Sincerely,

Wanderer

As some of you may know, Malinor holds the most homes in Aegis

The Wardens are the official "army" of Malinor and have nearly twenty or so members. Just recently however, the leading Warden was killed in combat and an appropriate leader will need to be appointed.

I don't think "Housing" is why we don't have alot of elves here all the time, we've got more houses than any nation. However, "Serpent Ridge" is constructed and i'm building homes at this very moment.

Well, like I said, I wasn't too sure that my ideas were correct. They were just speculation after all.

I think that once a new leader is appointed, a lot more active recruiting needs to go on. If this really is a problem and a serious issue, the new Warden leader needs to be able to step up and address it.
