My Lord of The Craft Application

Out-Of-Character

Minecraft Account Name: Malbosarus

How old are you?: 17

Time-Zone/Country of Residence: England/GMT

Do you have a good grip on the English language/good grammar?: Yes.

Small 2-3 Sentence Description of yourself: I live in the centre of England and I see myself as a kind person who probably spends too much time playing computer and video games but gets addicted to them very easily. Also I enjoy helping other out which might come in useful when playing on Lord of the Craft.

How much time could you be on the server weekly?: 1 or 2 hours a day.

What do you know about Roleplaying? Give a definition of what it means to you: I don’t know too much about roleplaying but I do know that it is when people change their personality as if to act like someone or something else. I also don’t think that roleplaying is just on computer games but also happens in real life. So in minecraft I will be playing the role of my character, Larrie.

What experience have you had in Roleplaying, if any?: No, I've only ever played FPS on the Xbox before!

In your own Words, define what the act of Meta-Gaming is: Meta gaming is when you use knowledge that you shouldn’t be able to know to make yourself do better in this game. For example if one of my friends was to tell me where something was on a server and then I went to it, that would be meta-gaming as I am using knowledge that I shouldn’t know to make myself do better.

In your own Words, define what the act of Power-Emoting is: Power emoting I think is the same thing as power gaming which is where rolepalying characters declare any type of action without the other person knowing in a bad way. This would then be unfair on the other character, the character doing the action has to be successful for it to be classed as power-emoting.

What do you expect this server will be like?: I’ve heard many good things about this server from my friends so I assume it will be one of the best out there.

What other server(s) have you played on and why did you leave them?: I play on the hunger games servers the most often and I will probably continue to play them however if I am accepted then playing Lord of the Craft will be my first priority.

Have you read, understood, and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

Do you promise to abide by said rules, and laws? This includes the Server, Forum, and Teamspeak set Rules: Yes, I promise to abide by the rules and laws.

How did you hear about us?: Through my friends.

Have you previously made an Application? If so could you link us to your last Application?: No, sorry.

In-Character:

Character Name: Larrie

What Race are you?: Human (Northener)

Biography (Please make this at least 2 paragraphs long. This must include the history of your character and his life as well as age, appearance and personality, etc.):

Larrie is the son of both Lago and Tethys and was born in the nation of Malinor. Lago and Tethys got along very well together but one day whilst Lago had gone out mining, as he was a peasant, fell a long way down a mineshaft and was never seen again. This meant that Larrie had to grow up very quickly and become very dependent on himself and as he grew older being just a single child, had to look after his mother as well. Tethys and Larrie got on well together.

Now Larrie is 23 and Tethys is 56 but Tethys doesn’t look like she’s going to last much longer. Larrie enjoys caring for his mother and bases this around working, he struggles to have much of a social life but does get on well with his neighbours who like him and think of him as being a young and kind individual. Larrie was fond of his father and always wanted to have the same sort of job as him and so he did. However Larrie does enjoy cooking as a past time and also enjoys training to become a soldier one day. This job though put his relationship with his mother slightly awkward as his mother really disliked the idea of him going to work as a miner because she depended on him and also she didn’t want him to die like his father did.

Larrie and Tethys live in a small brick built house in the forest near the mine so that Larrie can be close to his mother at all times and also so that if anything bad were to happen to either of them then each of them would be there for each other. Despite living relatively close to the mine Larrie still has to walk over 2 miles to get to work each day of the week.

What are your Character's ambitions?: To be a miner but has a deep interest in both cooking and fighting.

What is your character’s favorite tool? (sword, pickaxe, shovel, etc): Iron sword, this is due to the fact that Larrie has a deep interest in becoming a soldier.

What is one of your Character's most skilled talents? Mining as this is his job and he is also a very talented chef.

Other Information about your Character:

Open-Response-Questions

Whilst traveling from the Cloud Temple you see a small halfling, being harassed by two armed warriors. They appear to be trying to steal money from him, how does your character respond? My character subtlety sneak up on the two amed warriors with his bow and arrow (another weapon he trains with when training to become a soldier) and shoots them and continues to try and protect the halfling. If my character was successful in attempting to terminate the two armed warriors then he would take the Halfling back home and look after him for the night. Then the next morning my character would escort the Halfling back to his own home making sure there were no other attacks from other people.

Your character wanders into Alras, and comes across a small stall, behind which a well dressed man is standing. He’s offering various wares, the merchant turns to you and says in a posh accent " 'ello there, what can I do you for today?" What is your character response? My character would respond kindly to the merchant and proceed to have a conversation and ask if he has any goods that he is willing to sell and then Larrie would then see if any of the items were affordable and give him good things for whatever item he was selling me.

Whilst wandering in the wilds, your character comes across a small hut, which looks abandoned. Inside it you see a chest containing a few iron bars, and a golden sword. How would your character respond?: Larrie, my character would go and check out the surrounding area to just double check that the area is abandoned and see if there was any type of life form. If my character does not find any life forms then he would proceed and take the items inside the chest. However my character would then come back over the next few days and if any type of life form were to come back then Larrie would give back all the items and apologize for any inconveniences caused.

Hungry and lost in the wilderness, you stumble across a small trading camp nestled among the forest, they greet you you in the common tongue, how do you respond? “Y’allright there everybody”, Larrie says, “Would any of you happen to have and spare food or drink, I’m starving.” The other people respond kindly and insist that Larrie sits down and eats with the village and also they say that Larrie can stay the night with them. Larrie is shocked at how kind and willing these traders are to have him stay in the forest with him. Larrie then proceeds to stay the night with the traders and then sets of early in the morning after thanking the traders for the stay to try to find his way back home.

You hear word that bandits occupy the road outside the town in which you have been staying. The town guard have gathered, and are asking for assistance to help eliminate them. The leader of the party is offering a reward for any who offer their support. How does your character act on this information?:

If my character were to be found in this situation he would gather a few of his friends, however he has very few, he would then arm his friends with swords that he made from mining the materials out. Then Larrie and his friends would set off towards the bandits. As Larrie is training to become a soldier fighting came naturally to him and him and his friends managed to overcome all of the bandits. They then come back triumphantly and are rewarded with a prize that Larrie kindly shares with the whole village. Despite overcoming the bandits, Larrrie did receive one laceration to his arm which he is now famous for in the town.

Anything else you would like to say?: Not much but if you don’t accept me could you please tell me a few ways into which I could improve it please, thank you!!

Denied, though not a bad first try.

Your ORQs need to be written in full RP with dialogue and actions just like you would RP the situation if you ran into it in game. You've actually written your second last ORQ in the correct manner and it shows that you understand how to role play.

Your definition of power emoting is on the right track I thin plait the wording is a bit jumbled. Take sometime to make it clearer.

Other than that I quite like that you've created a normal person not some ninja/awesome warrior that's too cool for normal people. Some of the best RP is with just simple, realistic characters.

Please wait at least 24 hours before re posting and PM me if you need help.
