Now this is the idea,

We move in and if we lose one battle, we are pushed back and open to be offensively attack at a later date anywhere that the Dwarves chose, albeit directly north toward the Gorkil Hold or anywhere else.

I believe the majority of the Alras farms belongs to the Golden Harvest, not Kal'Alras, or the Urguan Empire (whichever you prefer).
